I walked in and was greeted by Arezou who was amazingly helpful. I did some decent measuring prior to coming but for what I missed, she picked up on and did an amazing job at filling in my blanks. She took me to the supply yard and showed me a full slab and I instantly fell in love. They had a very vibrant slab the had plenty of motion and color. I had more countertop and backsplash than that one slab would allow so she found me a second partial slab that was equally as great. My overall experience here was great. Arezou introduced me to all the staff members who were on site as we walked around and everyone was polite and welcoming. Their showroom is clean and efficient and they have a good assortment of granite and other countertop materials in the supply yard from what I saw. Good pricing, great customer service and great material selection. I'd definitely recommend this business to my friends, family and anyone else who's looking for any of the products that they supply.

That company promised to install the counter…read moretop in 3-5 days, but later I learned that their installation time frames were almost three weeks. A margin of error on their behalf that forced me to cancel the contract. Very frustrating. With the holidays around the corner, I yelped my around to find another counter company. The ones with higher rates were overpriced by hundreds of dollars for the Level # granite I was interested in. Rockville granite did not have a strong "Yelp" background, so I thought I would go to them directly. Yes, it was a family owned shop and it does not give the Corporate presence (who wants a customer service drone helping you anyways). They even have their little dog running around. I found that adorable being a dog owner myself and I enjoy supporting small local businesses. They were on point with their stone knowledge and were very accommodating with the shorten timeline. Their pricing was reasonable and their installation process was smooth. As for the other commentary of the installers not speaking English. I did not have a problem. The lessons here is to not rely 100% on the YELP reviews. If it wasn't for my old fashion, in person, approach I would have overpaid and would still be waiting for my counter's to be installed. I highly recommend them.

I was pretty satisfied with my overall experience with Granite Works. We went to their showroom…read moreand selected two granite remnants for our master bathroom and guest bathroom counter tops. Choosing remnants saved us some money. We choose the granite, then selected what type of sink we wanted (we chose rectangle) and if we needed a back splash. We wanted to replace three sink faucets with new Moen ones. Their plumber can install the faucets for $100 each. So, we decided to do that. After paying for everything, we walked over and made two appointments - one for them to measure and the other to install. Total time it took from the day we purchased it was two weeks. On the day of installation, the installers came during their time slot, and it was done in about one hour. The plumber came after the installers were done. Now, they should of told us to buy new water lines as their plumber doesn't have any. So, we had to drive to Home Depot while the plumber was installing the new faucets. I will choose them again when we decide to replace our kitchen counter tops.

I decided to explore local companies and found Flintstone Marble & Granite. My wife and I drove from Frederick to check it out. They have a nice show room and the largest selection "special priced" granite. While, most places' low-end discount prices are for 3 or 4 common plain granites. Flintstone had over ten that changed periodically. In fact, the choice granite we selected had just been reduced the day before. They quoted a price that was less than half the prior bids and I was skeptical that we were going to get nickel and dimed somewhere. I even created an opening when the field man came to get exact measurements and I asked for some extra granite pieces for shelves and small cabinet top. Since the price was well below my expectations I was ready to pay extra for the added pieces if they didn't gouge me too bad. When I didn't hear back on the cost of the extras, I called the salesman. He said he'd just throw them in at no charge. We intentionally scheduled this in early spring to be off season, which probably helped the pricing and they delivered on a Saturday ahead of schedule. They set the counters, assembled the extra shelf, installed the sink, ground and re-buffed a minor error. The plumber showed in the late afternoon and the change in sink style caused problems, but he worked late into the evening getting done. So, we were up and running the next morning. We have recommended these guys to a couple of friends who also seemed pleased with the results. I downgrade one star only because communication can be dicey and you need to follow through that their internal communication has flowed adequately. Also, the plumber seemed only semi-qualified and ill-equipped to handle non-routine hook ups. But the price was worth a few hassles and I could have paid twice as much and had equivalent problems, because I have.
