I gave this resturant a second try. My experience was worse than the first. I ordered the combination platter. When is Chille Rellenos peppers white?? Yes white. After I pull the batter wast from the peppers, it was some sort of white pepper. No flavor. I questioned the beef quesadilla. It looked like taco with beef and gravy. The tortilla on the "quesadilla" was cold and not grilled/pan fried. According to the waiter it was a quesadilla. This is definitely the worst Mexican food I've ever had. read more

I have the hardest time finding Mexican food that is up to my standards. This is not a German phenomenon...I had the same issue in the States. I guess that's what comes from living in the Southwest for more than a day. Sadly, I'm always pretty disappointed with the Mexican food I find. And Primavera was no exception. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't great. The chips and salsa were plentiful and fresh, if not completely to my taste (opinions on salsa are so varied that I recommend you try it for yourself). For my meal, I tried the flauta, chile relleno and tamale. The flauta was good, with nice flavors and enough sour cream for the whole thing. The tamale was excellent (although I have a theory that the only reason I like restaurant tamales is because I know how much work goes into them and know that if someone else doesn't make them for me I will never eat them). The chile relleno, however, was no bueno. Which is sad, since they're my favorite thing. The relleno I had was dripping with grease, and the grease tasted old. The pepper looked more like an Anaheim chile than a poblano, which is what I'm used to, so it was a little bland. The cheese was nice tho, nothing strange mixed in, not over stuffed with it. I have been told the enchiladas are delicious, but haven't tried them, so you're on your own with that. Will I go back? Likely, since my friends seem to like this spot. And I enjoyed the tamales. Will I go on my own? Naw. I can make better Mexican food at home. Should you go? Sure, why not. Unless you make really good Mexican food...or tamales. If so, call me? read more

You know it's good when you see Mexicans eating there. Craving that spicy Mexican goodness? Primavera is the best in the area. Everybody I bring here loves it. Amazing, attentive service. Employees speak both English and German (and Spanish, of course). There was a little atmosphere for anybody. From the outdoor seating out front, the bar scene in the entry, the booths and tables to sit and chat, the back room for big parties, and even a play area for the kids. My kid LOVES this place. The food speaks for itself. It's a decently priced, well done menu. I definitely recommend this place to anybody in the area who doesn't want to dive into German food. read more

This is the Kaiserslautern area's newest Mexican style restaurant and surprisingly, it was good! The menu has an large variety of items including burritos, tacos, taquitos, enchiladas, fajitas, chile rancheros, chimichangas, quesadillas, salads, vegetarian meals, and margaritas. What was impressive about Primavara is that it didn't taste like everything came from a can/bottle (like some places nearby). The food had fresh and an authentic flavor that gave a little taste of home. In addition, complimenting the food was the attentive and professional wait staff as well as the updated and clean decor (no grease stench here!). The restaurant has a full bar and plenty of room for happy hour with friends and family, or a large party. I definitely recommend giving this new restaurant a go! The staff was very courteous and welcoming and the ambiance was good but it was much like haciendas, pricey, flavorless and NOT Mexican.

I ordered a variety of soft-shelled flour tacos for £7.50 and found the shredded beef to be the best of the bunch. I was happy with the meal and ambient environment. The restaurant placed fresh tasty tortillas and salsa on the table. The waitress just wasn't listening to me when I was placing my order, she spoke English well, but kept trying to complete my order for me which started to piss me off. It took a while to flag someone down to request for hot sauce which turned out to be hot salsa... not really what I wanted and I was charges an extra £0.50. I would definitely go back and would likely bring a bottle of Tabasco with us. read more

I had high hopes for this place, I really did. Now I'm Mexican but I understand I won't be finding authentic food in Germany. I've eaten at Hacienda and Cantina and while they were not the best I've had, they definitely did the trick. THIS PLACE however...even my Caucasian husband who grew up in the Midwest without Mexican food thought it was terrible. The food was clearly pre-frozen (or old. eek.) the tortillas were stale, the tostada was CHEWY and my tamale was burnt. The chips and salsa were the only thing we enjoyed and I've had better from a bag/jar. Will not be returning. read more

Great staff, good margaritas, and best wings in the area. They have a mix of everything. Even on busy nights they don't skip a beat!

Very average Mexican food. My friend ordered queso for our chips which turned out to be the best dish we had. I tried the chicken rice soup, which was very bland. I was confused because it had Asian stir fry vegetables, not the vegetables traditional to a chicken tortilla style soup. I also had a combo which included a taco and a mini chimichanga. The taco was also bland, but the chimichanga was good. I attribute it's flavor to the fact that it was fried. The beef and beans, inside the chimichanga were the same sides and taco filling that were flavorless. The guacamole and salsa were also some of the worst I've had. Tried this place in March & April. Not again. Price is average but it reminds of something you'd get from a fast food place, just at a slow pace. The food is not horrible, but it's nothing like any Mexican food I've eaten before or continue to eat. They have these blocks you stand if you need service, great idea, but poor execution. Salsa is very oniony (& not much else), tacos have very little meat & preformed shell, but a Lot of extras & the tamale...from a can. Not a bad Mexican restaurant for Germany. The tacos and enchiladas are the only entrees I can comment in but those were pretty good. My only complaint would be to use less sour cream because it seems that they are trying to use it as a cover. All in all I recommend it to my friends. It can only get better right!? read more

I went to dinner with a bunch of friends. It was a busy night and the restaurant obviously did not have enough waitstaff. Multiple times someone from our table had to go to the bar to get drinks because it took the waiter at least 30 minutes to take our orders. It took an hour for some of the people at our table to get their drinks and an hour and 45 minutes for us to get our food. The food was just OK definitely not worth the wait.
