    Hacienda Nachos
    Dave H.

Update: Germans rate this restaurant 4-5 stars, Americans only 2-3. It's not typical American style Tex-Mex food. Neither myself or my partner were impressed with food presentation or with flavors. Margaritas were weak, small, and the bartender couldn't figure out how to get salt on the rim of the glass. Our nachos were dry with the cheese and meat only on the top chips. I ordered the La Hacienda meal (assortment of house specialties) but the exact same ground beef and cheese were in all of the foods so it was one homogeneous blend of the exact same flavor. Weird (curry-smelling gravy) sauce and cheese totally obscured what I was actually eating. My partner's chicken fajitas were pretty good, but again presentation of the condiments was poor. It was almost as if they kitchen staff were really rushing and had only a few ingredients to work with. Service was prompt with little flags to notify the wait staff when you needed help. However, the to-go container was unceremoniously dropped on our table to box ourselves. We won't be returning.

I had the "La Hacienda" plate (one Taco of your choice, one ground beef enchilada, one cheese enchilada, one small burrito, one small chile relleno, Mexican rice and refried beans). The plate was huge and packed with so much food (which was expected) but most of the food was covered with sauce. The sauce looked like gravy and smelled a bit like curry. There was so much of that gravy (on top and underneath the food) that it made a lot of the food on the plate taste like it and made it super soggy. I ended up eating the burrito and the taco but leaving the rest. I know it was a waste of food and I normally do eat everything on my plate but in this case I just couldn't eat it. It didn't taste like Mexican food at all. :( There were some good things about this place though. "Raising the flag" to order was a pretty cool idea and the chips and salsa were enjoyable. If I ever do end up eating at Hacienda again...I would probably order a burger and some French fries. Most people seemed to be enjoying those there.

Decent prices and really tasty Mexican food! we had eaten here a while ago and didn't remember it being this good.

    Chimichanga

The wait time wasn't too bad. I order the chimichanga, it was decent however we are in Europe. The drink (Margarita) was strong for this setting. Overall not too bad, would come back.

In my continued search for Mexican food in Germany, I decided upon Hacienda before returning to the Chili's on Ramstein again for just chips, salsa, and a margarita. I was very pleasantly surprised with our findings. The place was as authentic as my pinky finger (I'm German/Scots-Irish), but expectations change the longer you are an outlander. The place was easy enough to find. Even though we ate there on German Labour Day, the place was packed. The ordering is Pancho's style (shout-out), where you raise the flag when you need something. Service was pretty prompt. Chips and Salsa: Never included, but I know this. Out of a bag. Salsa was not spicy. However, did the trick. Beer: They have a 6-beer bucket, which will save you some change. We ordered the bucket, but the first 2 beers (on the menu) were not available. We asked for limes with our beers, and got lemons. Oh well. I am also used to this. Margaritas: I can't rate this based on personal experience, but my friend did order a frozen marg and it was blue. He said it tasted worse than it looked, which is really saying something. Avoid, unless you are pulling a prank on someone. Food: I ordered the chicken fajitas. I thought the price was a little steep for the area, until the food was delivered. I received almost a pound of meat, which was well-seasoned and served with delicious peppers and onions. I asked for corn tortillas and actually got them the first try. That barely ever happens! My friends ordered tacos, but were also surprised at the perfectly average caliber of their food. Overall, I have no real complaints. I'll probably return for a fix, and use this to grade the others in the area. This isn't Texas, so I'll give the Hacienda 4-stars for relative edibility in a desolate Tex-Mex environment.

Ok.....ok....gravy like substance on my enchilada....I swear it smelled like curry. Cool flag you raise up when you are ready to order. Great inside atmosphere....stick with the great German beer and appetizers.....the potato skins were good.

Just sampled the chicken quasadillas ....a lil bit on the greasy side but very delicious. I also tried a strawberry daiquiri....no sweet at all. All in all it was okay. Not too crazy. Im from Texas so I grade food more harshly when I feel like this is our area of expertise because of our huge hispanic ties.

Chicken Enchilada and Chicken Taco Special. 6.75 Euro

Came here as I was waiting on the registration process for our new used car. I ordered the Chicken Enchilada and Chicken Taco. It's strange but they used brown gravy on top of the enchilada, which is actually good. However, without the gravy to compliment the chicken, for instance my Chicken Taco, it is at best average.

-Not sure you'll find better Mexican food anywhere around here-…read more Just happened to be in the area and came by at the right time, because we are right before a big rush. Overall this place was great, pretty much all of the food tasted really good. We started with the chips and salsa and it was really good, the chips were light and crunchy, and the salsa was fresh with yummy flavor. 405 This burrito has such a lovely taste, one of the better burritos I have had in a very long time. I love lemon, and the lime flavored rice for this was just great! With guacamole sour cream and salsa, the flavors were exploding. SO FRIGGIN GOOD. Forgot the name of the burrito with two meats... Two meats, red sauce green sauce. Very large burrito and a good one. This one is dinner+lunch tomorrow. Personally I favor the 405, but this one was larger and also pretty tasty Chicken Quesadilla Straightforward, but really good. They worked the basics really well to make something normal taste good. Horchata Decent but I think it could be better. More cinnamon than I like, but I'll give it a try again next time. ------------------------ Pros -Very tasty Mexican food the way we like it. That 405 is bangin - Staff was nice and helpful - Environment has character and is good atmosphere Cons -Parking is weird -A little pricey -Come at the wrong time and the wait can be a bit crazy

There is a lot of grass space and some stuff for kids to play, this is a perfect family spot for sure. *CASH ONLY* and they do not have an ATM on the premisses so please make sure to bring some EURO cause they also o not take dollars here. I got some water as always I love me some sparkling water, but they also have spring water but it is not free, most places around here sell their water and do not provide tap water at all. as far as the for goes I got myself: STEAK RANCHEROS - I got it without the jalapeños cause I am not a huge fan of too much spice but it does come with it is not asked to take them off. the food was pretty good and the serving size was pretty nice too! they give you the choice of flour or corn tortillas as well and appreciated that as I am not a huge fan of flour tortillas. overall it is a nice spot with plenty calming areas and the food is pretty good. I wish they took card but they do not so this is an important detail to keep in mind for sure cause we did not have cash and we had a hard time after the meal. If you have the time try it out it is worth it.
