We had read about this place and were vaguely heading towards it when we stopped off for an early pre-dinner drink (see Blend)
We continued up the hill and looked in on the little restaurant on the corner to the right...so irritating when the waiters try and grab you and pull you in, sit you down before you have even had a chance to look at the menu. We had to almost physically stop them, say no very firmly, and when unable to read the menu say if you cannot leave us alone we are off! The restaurant was jam packed, everyone watching...guess they had had the same experience
We went across the road to the left and up to no 34...
Relief - 2 tables left, we were welcomed in by a very pleasant waiter; we took one and the table beside us went next minute. Full. You can see how small this place is from the photos...10 tables? But its like a little oasis and along with Qualque Hora (similarly tiny) and 5 Oceanos our 3 favourite places to eat during this stay in Lisbon
So we hadn't booked - won't make that mistake in future, we were so lucky, because people were pouring in and being turned away, some insisted and simply queued outside....when we left there were ton of people out there...but frankly it was excellent in very respect
The menu is however not small and all tastes are catered for: cod for my partner, I had the lamb...this is a very nice place to go to, food, service, atmosphere all great
