The one on the half a head dummy looked beautiful, ok my description of the display may not be selling it to you but it was a really pretty and unusual looking piece of jewellery. This shop is probably more mother of the bride by looking at the outfits on display. They do have a good range of accessories, from fasinators, handbags, scarfs and jewellery. The ladies were very helpful and the lady who initially served me got the necklace from the shop window for me. It was a little more than I would have liked to have spent but it really was pretty and would go perfectly with my outfit. So next time you're in Hamilton ladies have a wee look. It does feel very intimate as it's a small sized shop but it's very brightly lit and you can see in through the window display, so I would window shop first before heading in. By the way there's no way you'll get 'Madonna Voguing' here, a wee disappointed but I'll get over it. I just keep it all in my head instead. Vogue!

Pryce's hits that spot with my family. They sell some 2nd hand stuff which is always great value and high end quality. Their window is small and old fashioned, as is the shop itself inside. I had my Grandmother's engagement ring which she left me in her Will changed to my taste, from gold to white gold and set on a wider band as a 21st birthday present. It is gorgeous and something that I'll treasure forever, made with care and consideration by the small family team of jewellers here. Also sells baby and wedding gifts, and does clock and watch repairs.

I entered this store today with items for an exchange, i approached a member of staff who was…read moredirectly in front of me, i explained in a very friendly manner that my friend had bought me some items for my hen doo which is tomorrow, but none of the items fit me properly (a denim type dress and a small top), i explained i had no receipt however the items still had tags on etc.. and i wasn't looking for a refund but, if possible could i exchange for another item?. the member of staff basically looked me up and down and told me in a very short manner that * no we don't do that here*. however i have exchanged items in the past without proof of purchase but with tags on. as i've had a very hard day mentally i didn't want to argue and instead said it was fine, i would look for something else and just pay for it on my own without an exchange. i took my pram around a part of the clothing to look at some items, when i noticed this member of staff following me, she then approached another member of staff and began speaking about me, clearly she thought she was whispering, but she wasn't doing a very good job of it.. as someone who has worked in retail on and off for the last 16 years or so i found this to be ridiculous, and also incredibly embarrassing, i immediately walked out the shop trying not to cry because it made me feel so terrible, and emotionally i don't think i could have handled the confrontation. i ended up going to another clothing store where i purchased something for my day tomorrow. i hope that in writing this it might mean a look at customer service in this particular store. the girl was about 5'4 with long dark hair and glasses. i'm not sure if i will return to that particular store to shop because i don't want to be judged for no reason.

The thing I never really understand about Matalan is the need for cards. Why do they have them? It used to be that you had to have a card to buy anything, but on my more recent visit, I noticed they had slackened up on that, and it's now used for more of a rewards card than store ID. This store has everything; kids, women's and men's clothes, shoes and home ware. They have a brilliant underwear section and sell branded bras at less than half price. They even have Calvin Klein boxers at £9 a pack, which is less than half price, ideal for Xmas or Birthday pressies! I used the services that M Party provides for my 21st birthday party, and had cream and pink balloons with lovely little shimmery weights and bits and bobs for decorating the hall, all for under £100, which was amazing value! You have to collect the balloons yourself but that wasn't a problem. They have table decorations, age specific decorations and buffet ware, which is all fairly priced and available in every colour imaginable! They also make up banners if you want them, although I felt they were a bit pricey. Huge store with loads of bargains!
