They can…read moresometimes have some unusual stuff but the majority is quite old fashioned or quite practical. For the likes of sensible shoes for walking the dog its perfect. As I said on the odd occassion they have had something unusual and in the past when I needed shoes for a wedding its been here I've ended up getting something. They are probably better for gents shoes than ladies now and seem to have a better selection of styles for men. The prices are more than you would pay in the likes of matalan but in the majority of cases Stead and Simpson's shoes are at least leather!!!! The staff aren't particularly helpful or friendly and really look like they don't want to be there.

The stalls change in here so often its hard to know whats going to be there the next time you go…read more However, there is a watch repair stall and she is fantastic, very cheap for repairs, batteries, straps etc. If she doesn't think somethings worth fixing she'll tell you rather than waste your money and if its just a battery change, you're usually in and out in 2 minutes. She has a nice shop and keeps a good stock of good gift watches for £10 or less, all are gift boxed and perfect for a small gift. She also keeps some pocket watches and its one of the few places outside the argyle arcade in Glasgow I've seen these. The other shops vary wildly, there was a mobility shop there last time I went, a pound store (but frankly Poundland further along is much better), a make up shop (again you'd be better off in either semi-chem or poundland) and a clothing stall.

I have seen in here a lot of new items so I'm assuming they get items from various shops that haven't sold. They keep a very good range of all clothes for men, women and children which is unusual as most tend to favour one according to their donations. This store isn't that good for children's toys but is very good for gift items like crystal or wine glass, vases etc. The staff are always friendly, cheery and happy to help.

Do you not think someone might have tried on that new top you bought before you? Anyway, this charity shop is always heaving with new stock. if you're willing to rummage you can find some good stuff and at least you know your money is going to a good cause. There are always a few designer labels turn up and I recently managed to get a designer dress for £4. The ladies in there were fantastic, quite 'Trinny and Susannah' without the snobbery which I found quite funny. Lots of bargains to be had to with childrens toys and books. Don't be scared to hand in donations too as they are always looking for new stock. There is a small changing room if you want to try things on. They also keep a stock of buttons too, next to the counter. Perfect if you're looking to change the buttons on something or have lost a button and need a replacement.
