King Standard room was plenty spacious, bed was great and pillows were pretty close to perfect. Bathroom was adequate, though shower pressure and curtain were less than ideal. Clean room all around though, and the included microwave and fridge are a nice touch. Pool wasn't half bad either. The breakfast deal gets mixed marks; nice to have hot food options, though the coffee situation (a machine) is less than efficient. Seating area is pretty cramped as well. Otherwise great service, easy parking and kinda weak WiFi. Not much in this area to walk to either, but still cool with me.

My wife had the Halibut & garlic fries which the French fries were very tasty and crispy and the halibut was great with a lightly breaded batter. Service was great and waiter was friendly Restroom they have 1 on the 1st floor and another one on the 2nd floor to be shared by both men & women. Restroom was clean only thing with the amount of customers they can accommodate you most likely have to wait to use the restroom. Just like I recall from decades gone by, the low price brews flow freely and at a very reasonable price. The lady at the bar was friendly and efficient. I'm not a big drinker...rarely drink alcohol, actually. But it was a good Colorado koolaid on tap. The also have mixed drinks but that stuff is just too hard on the liver anymore. Place was really busy with several other groups having meetings and activities. Lots of parking although the building was pretty filled with folks. I guess if I lived close by and was inclined to join the Legion I'd be happy being associated with the guys at this post.

The room was exceptionally clean (great job, housekeeping!) and spacious. The large window in my room had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. The bed had a very comfortable mattress, probably the best I've had at any hotel. The room had microwave, fridge, TV with cable, and coffee maker. There were the usual sundries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap) and plenty of towels. A desk was also in the room. The jovial manager, Lance, was very kind and helpful when I couldn't figure out the remote to the TV. It wasn't very difficult I was just exhausted and brain dead after a day with family. Admittedly some of the furnishings could stand to be updated and the bathtub/shower diverter valve was weird (a thin one you push or pull) but otherwise I thought this was a great place to stay in Newport. I think a lot of the low-rated reviews were mistakenly expecting a luxury Vegas Strip hotel. 4.5 stars!

The ocean views from the living room and the primary bedroom are absolutely beautiful and were one of the highlights of our stay. There were, however, a few things I wish had been disclosed on the website before booking. First, housekeeping is not provided for the rental homes, regardless of the length of your stay. This also means toiletries are not restocked. By the middle of the week, we ended up purchasing our own supplies. This may be standard for some vacation rentals, but it would have been helpful to know ahead of time since it's different from what many guests expect at a hotel. The biggest issue for our family was the layout of the home. There are three to four steps leading down into the primary bedroom, and there is no handrail. My elderly in-laws stayed in that room and had difficulty navigating the stairs. I think this is important information for anyone with mobility concerns. The primary bedroom also does not have an attached bathroom. The half bath is located off the laundry room near the kitchen, on the opposite side of the house, while the full bathroom is in the hallway. For older guests, a few simple safety features like grab bars and a non-slip surface in the bathroom would make a significant difference. I'm not expecting a fully ADA-compliant rental, but some basic accessibility considerations would go a long way. One thing the photos don't really capture is the scale of the furnishings. The home photographs beautifully, and the décor is very stylish, but it felt more like a staged model home than a place designed for a week-long stay. The living room had a very small, low three-person sofa and decorative accent chairs that looked nice but weren't particularly comfortable for relaxing as a larger family. The three smaller bedrooms would also benefit from having dressers or additional storage for guests staying more than a night or two. The kitchen was clean and attractive, but if you plan on cooking most of your meals--as many families do when renting a home--it could use a better selection of cookware. We found the knives, pots, and pans to be fairly limited for preparing meals. Overall, we enjoyed the beautiful views and convenient location, but I think providing more detailed information about the home's layout, amenities, and accessibility would help future guests decide whether it's the right fit for their needs.

The service was horrible that night as the place was busy, but drink times were taking about 40 minutes which is bad, our main dishes came out after about 44 minutes and our appetizers came out about 40 minutes after that. If they can get the restaurant service dialed in this place would be amazing. The room was clean and had been very nicely updated. The bar was amazing and they have pretty much any level of quality in liquor that you maybe wanting. I would gladly return here for another stay.
