Very nice location, right on the river. The food was straight off the Gordon food truck. We ordered deep fried mushrooms as an appetizer. They were about the size of a nickel, we got a whopping 6 which were still frozen inside. I had taken a bite out of one and brought it to their attention. They took them and threw them back in the fryer bite and all. The hamburger was pressed and formed and not a real burger patty. The food was definitely subpar, not that of a yacht club. The food here was just not good. We went because it was a stop on the Culinary Trail, but I would not go back. Everything just seemed like it was frozen or from a box. I could've made a better sandwich at home. Service was good, and it was raining when we were there but I can imagine it's a neat spot to sit outdoors and look at the river. There is cafeteria food, and then there's hospital cafeteria food, and then there's Prima Marina food. Not to be an alarmist, but please avoid this place at all cost. Your money is much better spent at a fast food joint. Not only was the food terrible, but they refused to correct their mistakes. Instead, they took $7 off of the bill. The owner double down by blaming his terrible execution on the president. "Nothing I can do about the cut of fish. This country is so screwed up. Don't blame me, I didn't vote for him." The only thing I got out of this place was uncontrollable laughter for $75. So, I guess it was with it. Waitstaff was excellent. read more

Our welcome was pretty surly was a side of annoyance but once we were seated it was pleasant and attentive service. The restaurant was recommend while we were traveling in the area for the view, and it was definitely the best restaurant view in the area of the Ohio River. Our group of five ordered a bit of everything and nothing disappointed! From the crab and shrimp salad to the BLT, the cheeseburger to the drink made to order, it was all very good. My burger and sweet potatoes fries, for being your standard casual American order, were borderline amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We will be sure to visit again during our next trip through town. Tip: ask for outdoor seating. The ambience is elevated compared to the outdated interior. read more

I've been to Prima Marina on many occasions and the food was usually fairly good and the service was good. But today at this restaurant, myself and nine friends went for lunch. We sat outside on the deck ( which we prefer ) but we were made to sit as two separate parties unlike any previous visits. We didn't really like it but we agreed. The food and service were good but after we ate and paid( and tipped generously ), we were told to leave the restaurant. Our group usually stays for another hour or so to talk and catch up with each other. That was cut short. The owner said that they needed our tables for another group, although there were many other open tables. We were all upset about the request. With several of our group vowing to never return. Prima Marina has been a great restaurant for years. Over the last several years, families are welcomed back as it's now a smoke-free facility. They have daily lunch & dinner specials. Throughout the summer, you can wine and dine on their covered outside patio to enjoy a nice dinner and watch the big game on the several televisions placed outside or to just enjoy the view of the Ohio River. Also, on weekends during the summer there is some type of outside entertainment. The servers and staff work truly hard to give you speedy service and a nice meal. If you haven't already, go check out the Prima Marina. I'd highly recommend the hot roast beef platter or a Slim Jim sandwich. I've lived in the area for 20 years and somehow I never knew about this place which is a shame because I really enjoyed the experience. They had a good selection of both seafood and land fare as well as some good appetizers and a few desserts. I had the fried shrimp platter with onion rings instead of coleslaw and I loved it the shrimp was cooked great and the breading was crunchy and flavorful. My grandma had the fish sandwich which she enjoyed a lot. The interior was nice with a a matching boat theme and on nice days there is even an outdoor eating area I'm told. I would definitely go again and am happy I now know about this nice little place by the river. read more

Third time I've eaten here this week. Chefs salad is no such thing. Block cheese and hame with a slice of lettuce and a slice of tomato. Not good. Tonight tried their wings. We drove an hour and half to this place that we thought we enjoyed going to until we realized our company wasn't wanted. We came early to get a good seat only long enough for the owner to collect our money and kick us off to the side! They claimed they had parties waiting only to find out that the people that was inside wanted to come out to listen to the band. Next time my business will be elsewhere. read more

Broccoli and cheese balls weren't fully cooked, instead of medium rare my steak was well done (even if their menu states " don't hold us responsible if you order steak well done"...) food took an hour to arrive at the table. The waitress forgot everything including to even ask what sides we wanted. The lazy mans lobster was bland and cold, very disappointing. Dumb wait staff didn't even know that they had sparkling water, which they did. View was nice, but this was $30 down the toilet. Would've preferred Bob's to this embarrassment. Love to eat here. Food is always very good. Really usually like their specials. Soups are so good. Wedding soup is exceptional. We are locals and usually eat there once a week when we are in the area. Prima has improved a lot since it changed owners and prohibited smoking. Nice view of jet skis and river traffic at what I've been told is the biggest bend in the Ohio River. I usually order a calzone which might not be on the menu yet, and my husband, who is gluten free, usually orders a large shrimp salad. The new owners are keeping it clean, and servers are friendly. They can get fairly busy at mealtimes but the cooks seem to keep up with the crowd. Live outside music on some weekend evenings. Closed on Monday. read more
