I really appreciated that gesture. They also showed me the closets for both men and women that their clients get to shop. I would highly recommend this organization.

They advertised this program as a program that helps you land the job you want, however it just turned out to be another generic job-readiness program that just puts you in whatever job they have available rather than what career you want and what your background is actually is. With the high-energy entrepreneurial people running the program, you would think they would have stronger career advice to give and be able to help you with a more individualized approach, but unfortunately they do not. The training class was pretty fun and engaging for the most part, and the teacher Cedric was a great speaker. However, what I had an issue with was how a huge percentage of the class was spent training us on warehouse safety and how to use a forklift. I'm sure that's great for people who actually want to work in a warehouse, but for everyone else it's a waste of time (so my recommendation is for them to hold the forklift training during a different time for the people who want it). I know for a fact that I'm never in a million years going to work a blue-collar job. I found it a bit insulting, because they get a lot of people signed up for the program from homeless shelters, rehab clinics, and those previously incarcerated, so it came across like they were talking down to us and assuming warehouse work is the only thing we would be qualified for or willing to do. And from my experience, warehouse jobs are pretty in-demand and they hire pretty much anyone desperate for a job. My feedback for this program would be to stick to their word about helping us land in the career we like, and do a better job meeting everyone where they're at in their career.

After being referred here from a friend, I was blown away by the following things: STAFF: Upon entering their offices (which are on the corner of 5th and Downing), I was greeted by a friendly face who told me how the typical process works in signing up with the agency. Fill out paperwork, enter various resume history into database, meet with a recruiter and wait for the opportunities to come in! After the first half was completed, I met with Karen - the Vice President. She was friendly, intelligent and is well versed in this industry. Karen asked me a few routine questions - career desires, job aspects, and salary before shaking my hand and saying she'd be in touch! COMMUNICATION: After about a week without hearing a word, I followed up with Karen, who promptly returned my email saying she had a potential opportunity for me. Karen and her colleagues constantly reached out to me throughout various job placements to ensure I was happy and offered insight on the job market and potential for growth. She was easily reachable and made the process seamless. She and her team continue to be this way - even know! JOB PLACEMENTS: Such a variety - based on your job history, salary expectations, location and duties! Because I solely wanted my foot in the door, I hopped on every opportunity that came my way - including a product tester! ha! Ultimately, I landed two great jobs, one of which I am still with today! Because the majority of job placements are temp-to-hire, I was able to see if the company was a "good fit" for me, as well as for them, which made for a better experience. EMPOWERMENT: JKent Staffing was started by a passionate woman, who continues uphold her core values to this day - and inspire other women! In joining the agency, I felt the recruiters and staff were so encouraging and helpful! As hard as finding the right job can be, Jkent made it easy and interesting!!
