I don't normally give poor reviews on Yelp, but I wanted to address this business and the poor communication & lack of consistency. I had ordered two sashes (one bio/psych and one economics) to be done for graduation and had accidentally ordered the wrong shade of gold. I take full accountability for my mistake of choosing "metallic gold" instead of "gold." However, I was designing my sash for so long, that the colors started to look the same and even appear very similar online. Again though, it was my fault for not reading the text fully. This being said, I was very unsatisfied with what had come in the mail. I intended to get regular gold, and the metallic gold looked so tacky. The purple was also different than what was shown online (will add onto this later). I called the customer service line, and they had told me that I should have realized it and that I could have ordered a sample of the color. I do think I should have realized it, but I think that they also could have been more clear on the website. They asked me to pay half of the original cost ($85) to replace it, which I was okay with since graduation is a huge event. I told the lady that I wanted to replace the metallic gold with regular gold for my biology & psychology sash and she said she would get it mailed ASAP. She sent me an invoice and stated that she wasn't sending a proof because she knew I would approve it. I didn't hear after a little bit, so I followed up to make sure that it was the bio/psych sash that was getting fixed and she said yes then sent shipment. When I got my "redo" I ended up getting 2 economics sashes in the mail. I was really disappointed because I had planned for my photoshoot to be around the arrival of my new replacement sash. What topped it off was that the purple was a COMPLETELY different shade than what I had originally got. It looked a lot more like the picture proof online, but made me realize that they probably messed up the original sashes they gave me that were also supposed to be "purple." I had to call back again to get the right redo sash in the mail because I had now at this point paid $212.50 to get a bunch of different purple looking sashes and no redo. I was on hold, but hung up on by the company due to "busy hours." When I called back, I had to reconfirm and reemphasize what I had wanted. Luckily, this order shipped promptly, but this entire process took from beginning of March until now. I am really disappointed with this company as they're a huge provider of many schools in California for graduation sashes. I hope that they improve not only communication with customer but also internal communication (for example making sure they're using the correct purple shade) and also the design portal. read more

After looking into so many places for a specific blue colored stole, I was very happy to relieved to see that Pride Sash is the only company that offered the blue I was looking for. Unfortunately, they were not able to make the stole in time with the customization included. I called them to see if I am able to pay a rush fee on top of the rush orders they have been doing. I was even willing to pay over $150 for a rush fee, but they were at overcapacity. The person on the phone was so friendly and I told her how much I love her blue stole and that I was willing to do anything and pay anything for it. She eventually suggested that I purchase a blank stole from their website which they are able to ship in a week and that I just have to find a local embroidery shop to get it embroidered. WHAT A GREAT IDEA THIS WAS! At this point, I was so ready to give them a five star review because not only did she not turn my inquiry down right away (despite how busy they were), she offered me possible solutions and suggestions that don't scream to me that she just wants my money. I respect businesses like this.... A LOT. I had some issues with how to order a blank stole online and what to put in the forms to receive it before 5/4 so I emailed her and she got back to me right away. Communication was very efficient (which is much needed for a time-crunching inquiry) and I received the stole so quickly. She didn't even charge me a rush fee for it. I am so impressed. But I am even more impressed with is how beautiful the blue color stole is! I am heads over heel and they have POCKETS too. Please refer to the picture below to see how beautiful it is. I do not think that I have ever in my existence been so offended or appalled by someone running a business. I ordered a sash the expected date of arrival was October 12th. I went to check and see on the order status on the 12th and it still said it was still in processing and I had not received any type of follow up email. I think clicked on the phone number not once but probably four different times and each time it came up as if the number was disconnected. So my initial thought was great they took my money and the business is closed. I sent an email stating that if I did not hear something in the next four hours I would file fraud charges, I would dispute the charges. MY RIGHT if my money was taken and goods not delivered. I a few hours later tried calling one more time and for what every reason the call went through this time and spoke to a lady I who stated it was being mailed out that day and I did say thank you. It doesn't matter what the circumstances, to address a customer in the manner that she did is just disgusting, unprofessional and down right disgusting. I will never do business with this company again and I will advise everyone I know to not do business with them as well. Here is the response that I received to my email: Tammy, You are so silly, girl! You are obviously joking because one cannot "file" Fraud. Be careful ordering from this company! They completely messed up on the sash that I designed and when I communicated that to them they were extremely condescending about my design choices. They insinuated that my choice of design is why the sash came out wrong. I am graduating (first in my family to receive a Bachelors degree) in a few weeks and decided to save some money and not order a custom sash from my university. However, the term you get what you pay for is absolutely true with this company. The sash was far to long like well below my knees and I am 5'6", the trim color was not what I had specified (I wanted yellow and got metallic gold) all because I wanted a different thread color for the lettering on the sash. Additionally, I added the serape tips and they did not look anything like what was pictured on the website (there was no disclaimer saying this was and example and actual product may vary). I immediately contacted someone as soon as I received the order and was connected with Marnie who admitted that they made a mistake. She said they would remake my sash, but having seen it in person I decided I wanted to make a couple design changes. She said go ahead, but told me to place a new order and re-enter my credit card information??? She assured me I wouldn't be charged right away which is total BS because I had been charged right away for the first sash. Needless to say I ended up ordering a sash from my school and have filed a complaint with the BBB for a refund (which I had request from the company first). Since they acknowledged their error I haven't received any form of communication from anyone regarding a refund. They are just ghosting me. I'm a USC student. When the university notified us to order our custom Sashes at the beginning of April I did just that, however USC still didn't have a set date on when our graduation ceremonies would be, and Pride Sash didn't take that into account. Now USC has revealed the dates for graduation ceremonies ranging from from the 14th till the 25th and my order won't arrive until the day after ceremonies have concluded. I tried to reach out to customer service and they won't do anything about it either. There's no way to expedite the order, and they don't do refunds. I know the COVID Pandemic makes things complicated, but it just seems so unprofessional for the University to encourage us to buy a product that won't even arrive in time. I don't know if I should be upset with USC, or if I should be upset with Pride Sash, because now I spent hundreds of dollars on a one time ceremonial garb that won't even be here in time for our graduation date. Save your money, and if you want a sash look elsewhere. The experience here has been very disappointing. read more

I am graduating with a Masters degree in May, a big deal for someone who didn't think they were "made for school." I usually don't like the big fanfare of celebrations, and even for this graduation I didn't care to go all out. I'm borrowing someone's old gown so I saved money. I thought, since I'm saving money I should splurge on a customized sash! I really wanted to rep my cultural background coming from a program where I'm a minority. My university has a Black and Latinx cultural sash, but no Asian Pacific Islander sash. I shopped around online and they were all similarly priced, however I found that Pride Sash had the most customizable options (such as choosing my university seal, using chinese font for my name - I just copy pasted it in, choosing which position to place seal/letters, etc). Even with my final design and the added customizations the cost was comparable to other sites (with less options, but same price). I have to say, I was a little hesitant upon reading some of the reviews... Would my sash arrive in time for graduation??? I was worried because I didn't receieve a final proof or anything so I wasn't even sure they would be able to have my Chinese name on it. After the initial purchase I received a confirmation email, but nothing else until another email telling me my purchase had shipped with the estimated arrival date. The sash arrived a few days before the estimated date (nice!) and was beautiful! Very satisfied with how it looks. Some suggestions I have for Pride Sash is to send a final design proof. It's a good thing I had screenshot my design or else I wouldn't have remembered what I even decided on! Also, it never hurts to have more fabric design choices! This business is completely inconsiderate towards their customers' time. The drive to this place is an hour drive, so I called in advance to confirm they would be able to fulfill my order which was promised. The next day when I drive all the way down, my order was rejected with the excuse being that they'd promised too many orders and couldn't take on more. They were reminded that they had promised just a day ago, and they made the excuse that they were just slow. Aside from that, they also apparently cannot add more things to an already customized sash. This was a complete waste of my time, gas, and energy. So I called the store and asked what time they closed. The lady asked me why and I responded because I wanted to come in and have my sash custom made. She was very rude towards me and kept insisting that the online works fine and it was me with the issue. She ended up telling me that I couldn't come in and have my sash custom made in person. LOVE MY SASH IT IS BEAUTIFUL! It's everything I envisioned and wanted! My school uses a particular sash company and I didnt want to go with them because there was little room for customization (more specifically ugly fonts). I customized and ordered mines using pride sash's website generator. It was fast and easy! At first I was concerned that the font size on my sash would be too small (11 pt) to be seen. So I contacted the company about my concern and they replied back within the same day. They assured me that it would be fine and they were right! Excellent customer service (thank you Valerie)! So I was able to place an order and get my sash. However, it is not up to the standards I expected. I wanted to have all the font work the same size, which was even listed on my order...yet you can tell that the fonts are different from the right side to the left. The text was instead made to fit. It is too late to have this corrected as graduation season is upon is and it takes 4-6 weeks instead of the usual promised 1-4 weeks fo individual orders. Today at 2:30pm, I called Pride sash at (310) 973-0106 because I had an issue with customizing my sash online. Marnie answered the phone and I explained to her that yesterday, I was able to customize my sash to my liking but that today, the system was not allowing me to customize my sash. Marnie rudely cut me off and told me that I must be doing something wrong because on her end, she said she was able to customize. Again, I explained to Marnie that when I change the color of the lettering, it also changes the color of the emblem. Marnie again dismissed what I was trying to explain, cut me off and told me it was "easy peasy." It was very frustrating because anytime I tried to get a word in, she rudely spoke over me which resulted in no success for resolution. This commencement is a very meaningful and important time in my life, and it means a lot to me to have a sash created exactly the way I would like it. Marnie's poor quality service skills and rudeness lack compassion for helping people with their graduation needs. Last year, I ordered graduation sashes for myself and for club (CSUN BHA). My club has been ordering from them for years so as VP of Marketing, of course I'd continue. I've been pretty satisfied with their work! Csun: Csun orders their sashes from PrideSash so we get it really cheap when it's time for graduation! They come to our Grad Fest so it was nice being able to talk to them in person and checking out the designs. Club: We get at least 6, so that means we get a $5 discount per sash for ordering a lot. The website shows more info if you order a lot more. We have a lot going on our sash, so it got a little pricey. I really appreciate their team for being so helpful and patient with me when I was figuring out how to order everyone's sashes. Personal: I absolutely love my personal sash! They messed up my first order (used a Csun logo instead of my club logo) but offered to fix it. Their customer service was really wonderful. At first I was disappointed but then they said they would fix it and make another for me for free. Thank you! That totally made me feel better. Your graduation is pretty important after all. I'd definitely look into this if you want a sash. Most places Greek clubs get them done at are really expensive. Pride sash was a cheaper alternative for me. Just found out that my CSULA sash (ordered 4/16) will be delivered on 6/6 the day before my Raza graduation (6/7) This is beyond unacceptable. The whole reason I ordered an 86.00 sash was for the pictures. At the time of ordering they said delivery would be the beginning of May. Their excuse for the late delivery - they had over a thousand orders. Asked if I can pick it up - was told that it would not make a difference. My professional fraternity had ordered from Pride Sash before and instead of reinventing the wheel, I decided to contact Pride Sash to see if they could recreate a previous order with some tweaks (new grad year). They were prompt on replying, telling me what info they needed (invoice #, # of sashes, cc info), and when I would need the sashes for my event. I looked at many other sash places and Pride Sash was competitively priced. I ordered 10 sashes about 3 months in advance. Received all 10 about a month and some days after I placed the order and they were exactly what I was expecting. Follow up: every time they make an update so will I. This company acts like I paid $5 for a sash. When I first received the sash I was upset and I showed my friends the difference from what I ordered to what I received and they encouraged me to contact the company. From the first time I contacted them they said they weren't going to change it/send me a new sash, so I didn't bother with that anymore. Not like I was gonna pay $30 for them to ship something out that wouldn't get to me on time. I told them just to refund me for a piece of the sash that didn't look like what i ordered because I was gonna have to pay someone else to change/fix it myself. I was upset because I felt like the sash I received wasn't like the sash I ordered. I suggested that they update their website/be more transparent about the final look/color of the sashes. Wouldn't also hurt if they included a variety of reviews not just 3 positive ones on their website. They just kept trying to tell me they had never received a complaint, then they continued to push the idea of other customers being happy with the product. Now they're quoting other people's positive reviews that have nothing to do with me. On some of my university's fb pages people have made posts dedicated to their reviews of pride sash products ,their experiences dealing with pride sash employees and how condescending some of them are. Without them even naming employees I knew they were talking about Bruno. I'm not sure why my school advertises this place for sashes when there are other shops who do better work. I ordered a sash to go with my cap and gown for my up coming graduation ceremony from the USC Marshall School of Business. You might say so "What's the big deal?" You see the USAF sent me to get my MBA there in 1971, but due to active duty commitments and the fact that there is no graduation ceremonies in August I didn't get the opportunity to go though graduation. Recently, while going though a USC Business School magazine that showed last years grad ceremony, I got this crazy idea that maybe at the age of 77, and 49 years later maybe I could get to do it. So, I contacted Paul Lee at MBA School and he checked it out and said I could do it. I may be the oldest grad there, but "what the heck". So, here is where Pride SASH comes into the picture. I called them for assistance and help on laying out the design of my sash since their standard sash read Class of 2020. That would not do for me. We work on a layout that on the left side had the USC seal, and under it the Marshall School of Business and then under that the Class of 1971. Now this is where they really sparkled, on right side they put they USAF seal in color (I spent 28 yrs and was very proud they could come up with the seal), under that they put my undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit (U of D 1965 BSCE). Last, there is one more recognition to the University of Southern California. The Sash work looks so professional and done right per the way we talked about over the phone. I am 110% satisfied with outcome. I am sure I'll will get a few questions about it on May 15th. I am so excited to back to this ceremony.
