I found this place on Yelp and the reviews seemed pretty decent so I felt safe doing business there. So I called 9/1 to ask if they did embroidery for graduation stoles. The owner asked me when did I need it by and I told him the 8th, he said ok great if you bring it in today, I'll have it done for you on the 6th at 1030am. I did not go pick it up on the 6th because I was going to be in the area on the 7th. I arrive on the 7th and the business was closed, even though according to Yelp the hours say they open at 930. There was a sign on the door that said to call for entrance so I did. The manager answered and said they open at 10, I said ok I can wait 30 minutes but just to let you know on Yelp it says 930. He then says by the way, I did not start your stole yet because I had another order come on so I need 30 mins to do your order once I arrive. Ummmmmmm excuse me, you said my order was suppose to be ready on the 6th and today is the 7th, I said what do you mean my order is not done. He then says, I just said another order came in so I had to do that one instead of yours. I'm podded at this point like super pissed. So you mean to tell me you push my order to the side for someone else's after you said you could have it done before my deadline. I then asked if that's the case why didn't you call me yesterday and say that you were delayed? He then preceded to ask me to come at 11 even though he said 10 before, to pick it up. No sir, you will not rush my embroidery on my stole and I did not have time to wait till 11 because I had my nail appointment at 1030 and I was graduating that evening. So I left the stole there and graduated without one. This was very very unprofessional! I do not understand how they stay in business. Patsy's is the BEST place to get your USC graduation sash embroidered!! It is so much more affordable than the USC bookstore, and you can easily upload any logo you'd like. The USC bookstore has a very limited library of club logos and designs to add to your sash, but Patsy's has an extensive library. The stitching color matches the sash exactly, and the positioning is even and looks great. It was timely as well. Had my USC graduation sash done here after hearing good reviews from friends so I decided to come here with my friend to get ours done. The place is a little hard to find because you have to get access for the building (press #03 on the door) thing in order to go into the building (then walk straight into the place). The lady who works here was really nice and patient even though my friend and I were so indecisive. She asks for your major and pulls out designs based on your major (ex. Marshall School of Business, Leventhal School of Accounting, etc) and also typical USC logos like the USC seal & the Trojan Head (they have pre-made designs for USC themed things). Then she asks you for the logo/words you want and the area on the sash that you want it. She also pulls out examples that she previously completed so that you can have an idea of what it will look like when completed. I finally got my sash back today and they look great! Although it did take longer than I expected because they had so many orders going on (because everyone is a procrastinator), but the man I spoke to on the phone was really nice even though I probably called 3 times asking when it could be done and could it be faster. Overall, it took 6 business days to be completed (5/3-5/13 after I asked for rush service) but it takes about 10 business days for normal service (Lengths of time are for sashes nearing graduation, not for normal embroidering during normal days). For my sash, I got Tommy Trojan head, Fight On!, my name, Marshall School of Business & the USC seal done for $75... Now I kind of realized I got ripped off compared to my other friends because they got the same designs done here for around $50-60... was it because I wanted to rush the order?? Raul was so sweet and amazing! He helped me over the phone with pricing & right away you can tell he was a genuine man. The actually embroidery was awesome! The color of the thread matched up exactly, and the actually alignment and finish was done great. My only negative was that his assistant said she was not going to sew over the backs of the pockets (behind the sash there are 2 small packets/ one on either side) so that was a little bleh, but because the overall look was so beautiful, it doesn't even matter! I was actually able to get my sash by the next morning, but he was willing and able to have it done the same day. A tip though- he is located in the USC area so I'm assuming that's the majority of his clientele. I am UCLA grad, so going almost a full month later I could tell they were much more relaxed and didn't have a work load so that could have also played into it. Man I feel really bad leaving this review because there are probably some honest people working at Patsy's and they will lose business because of this, but Raul, the boss there, was acting pretty unprofessional in this instance. I went to him to get my graduation sash embroidered and we go through this long negotiation process where he uses salesman tactics to reassure you that you're getting a "discount". Of course I have my own facebook group that also went to him individually and we compare prices and turns out he'll use asynchronous pricing in order to get the most profit out of you. He charged differently per logo and tried to charge me extra if I wanted the logo's spaced out vertically instead of clustered up within a certain circumference(for another friend of mine, he did not even mention the spacing charge). So I confronted him about this, and instead of renegotiating or telling me why the prices had to go up (lets say more demand, so surge pricing) he kept assuring me that I got a discount and started breaking down the deal I got. Of course i don't care because I got ripped off in the first place. Then he tells me to go away because he doesn't care if he loses one customer. I feel like this guy tries to be nice only to get the money from people, but as soon as he's against the wall he was a bit of an.... Either way I'll throw this place a lifeline and give them two conditions in which I can still recommend: 1.) don't care about the asynchronous pricing, hectic timeline, and inconsistent service from Raul. If you just need a good customized sash(can vouch the product is good) and need it from a place close to school. 2.) Wait until they have standardized pricing with a website showing which logos they do for what price, or they will be tempted to try rip you off until then. Even though some people have had good experiences here- even the POSSIBILITY that you will have an an experience like mine should deter you from here . ---- This is a condensed version btw- I have SO MUCH MORE that I can't even fit on here. Literally the worst customer service/business/shopping experience of my ENTIRE LIFE. 1. I get 3 jackets lettered and embroidered. The lady tells me she'll have them done by that friday (4 days). I didn't need them by then urgently, but I was pleasantly surprised at the speed. The next week was spring break so I didn't stress that I didn't get a call from Patsy's. That friday wasn't my deadline so I was fine with them taking more time. Then-- Raul texts me during my spring break. He sends me MULTIPLE texts because I don't reply to the first one. SORRY that it's 8am on spring break so I didn't reply to your texts right away. CALM DOWN bro. also if it's THAT urgent, why don't you just call me? Ridiculous. So he has a question about my order and then asks me if I want to pick them up on Friday (this is one week after the Friday they claimed it would be ready). Since I was out of town for break I said, I'll come in on Monday. He says Great see you then... and that's settled. 2. Fast forward to Monday Because of the few horrible yelp reviews, I wanted to make sure that everything was GOOD before wasting my time going all the way to Patsy's between classes. So I text Raul 20 min before and remind him that I am coming in to pick up my order. He says, "Great, thank you Hannah. I won't be in the office but my assistant will help you." Excellent, I think. And rush over after one of my classes- thinking it would be a quick 10 min transaction. I get there... One of my jackets isn't done (it's haphazardly shoved into a corner on the machines...gross) One of my jackets has a HUGE STAIN on the front (it was brand new when I brought it in) One of my jackets had my name misspelled on the back (embroidery) Seriously? You messed up every SINGLE part of my order. What's worse is that Raul TOLD me to come in. If it's not done, that's okay- I'm fine with waiting! But don't TELL me to come in and then CONFIRM (remember, I had texted him 20 min prior) and then not have anything for me. I wasted so much of my time going there and back- which could have been spared if he had been upfront with me. There is absolutely no excuse for this--- I never said it HAD to be done on Monday. But why tell me to come in if you're not done?!!!?!?! Even if you're out of office, just call your assistant and double check. -- Once I get home I angrily contact Raul. If he had responded professionally and promptly then this review would probably have at least 3 stars- everyone makes mistakes (though this was pretty bad) and I'm willing to let go as long as everything is smooth sailing from here on out. NO. 1. He refuses to apologize-- only reluctantly does so after I repeatedly point out how he wasted my time, ruined my merchandise, and misled me. 2. He doesn't accept the blame for anything. Claims that there is no way that the jacket was stained at Patsys. Oh REALLY?! So are you claiming I stained it? When I brought in a brand new, untouched jacket with the tags still on it? ok. ok raul. 3. He offers to bring my order to me (since he messed up) and then RESCINDS his offer because he is mad at me. How professional. And gives me an ultimatum that I need to either come here and get them or just forget my order. And lose all the jackets I bought. really? -------- This is only part of it-- there is unfortunately more to my sad tale I decide to go and get it- because I just want to get this over with. Before I go in, I call him so he knows I'm coming (don't want a repeat of last time). And I also ask him to prepare a receipt for me. (They're so unprofessional I was scared they wouldn't prepare it otherwise). He has a receipt for me but it's literally a piece of paper with the total price written on it in sharpie. THAT'S IT. seriously?! Is that even legal? I ask him to break down the prices for me- and get this- he has to CALL his assistant to ask her the prices. Why do you not know the prices to your own services? Is it not even written down anywhere? To show me the breakdown of the prices he brings me the piece of paper where I wrote out the prices when I was writing out the colors/details for the assistant. let me reiterate-- HIS RECEIPT IS MY BREAKDOWN OF THE PRICES THAT I GAVE TO THE ASSISTANT. So that's bad enough- then I look over it to confirm his total. And he added something WRONG. .... He stubbornly insisted he was right and I was adding it wrong until I showed it to him on the calculator. NEXT-- he tells me it's cash only. NOW YOU TELL ME?! Letters, blankets, shorts, shirts, sweaters, robes, pillow cases, hats...let's just say if you can embroider it I've taken it here. Over the last three years I have made what feels like hundreds of trips here to personalize gifts for my sorority. They do great quality work and rarely make mistakes and if they do they fix it extremely quickly. They are also very kind to return customers like myself and go out of their way to help me with the designs and finishing my items when i need them (I've come in at 9am with 5 items and they would have it done for me the same day). For most things they charge $5 per hit on an item. Things to know: They are a bit tricky to find. They are on the northeast corner of 29th and Vermont. If you see the Trojan Cleaners they are just north of that. There is a glass door with a call box on the right. Just punch in their number from the directory and they will buzz you in. You can see their office from the door so sometimes you just have to wave and they'll let you inside the building. They are open Monday through Friday and they close a bit earlier on some days so just leave them your number and they will call you when your order is done and let you know when they are closing They are cash only so make a stop at the ATM before you go read more

Please avoid this place to preserve your sanity. I would not go to Patsy's again even if they paid me. 1) I wanted some simple embroidery on a jacket. They refused to complete the order after I told them I was dissatisfied by their numerous delays. 2) I placed my order on Monday, and Raul said it would be done Friday. On Friday, they told me to come back Tuesday. On Tuesday, they told me to come back Thursday. On Thursday, they told me to come back Monday. On Monday, they told me to come back Tuesday. On Tuesday, they made me stand and watch them sew my order...which only took 15 min, so I don't see why they procrastinated so ridiculously inappropriately. I had to leave and didn't get my order until today, after I already missed my friend's birthday. I was very polite and understanding throughout, even when they called and woke me up in the morning to tell me they couldn't spare 15 minutes for my order but could give me a 10-minute long call filled with excuses. 3) The prices are not cheap. I frequented KEDA in Torrance, and their prices are roughly 60-70% of even Patsys' discounted prices. They also have jackets in stock, which Patsy's doesn't. 4) The quality was poor. The stitching was severely off-center and a word on my order was misspelled. If you enjoy being swindled, suckered in, or otherwise duped out of your money in exchange for shoddy, rude service and a ruined product, by all means go to Patsy's. read more

The only good thing about Patsy's is that they're cheap, and have been a frequent customer for a lot of my sorority/club/personal items. However this summer I brought three jackets to be embroided on the hood, specifically stating the size, color, font, etc. A week or two later, the letters were embroided upside down on the hood so I took them back to get them fixed. I had to go on vacation so a couple weeks later I called again, expecting to be able to pick them up. However, they forgot which size went with what letters. They were busy so they said they'd call me back to confirm the sizes and letters but I never got a call back - they are hard to reach because they don't always pick up the phone and after leaving a message and calling back again a couple days later, they said they'd be able to give me my jackets in about 4 days. On the 4th day, I went to pick them up and they weren't ready. They embroided the jackets right in front of me and I was late to work because I had to wait for them to do the whole thing. Not only that but they charged me MORE than what I originally paid for. It was supposed to be $5 per hoodie and I had three hoodies so I originally paid $15. THEN, they told me I had to pay ANOTHER $27 because it's $4 each to take off the stitchings and another $5 each to embroid it again. They are nice people, but the way they handled the situation was horrible. Not only was it their fault for messing up, but I ended up paying x3 what I should have paid. I was so late for work that I paid them and immediately left the place and I will never go back again, the experience left me upset and it wasn't worth all the visits and time wasted (all this took over a month). read more

I came here with 3 hats to be embroidered and asked Raul if he could have it done. He told me no problem and promised to have them done by Friday. When I went to pick them up, they had not even started on my hats. The employee told me to come back in 2 hours. I even called before I went back and no one picked up the phone. So I went back anyways and to my surprise, the hats were not done. They hadn't even started on them even though they knew I would be back. Even better, Raul did not even print out the image and work order for the order. I finally got fed up and took my hats back. It was 6pm on Friday and no other embroidery place was open. I definitely recommend this place instead of Greek Escape(?) to embroid your sashes! The location is TRICKY: the entrance is on Vermont, sandwiched in between 2 clothing shops. The entrance is pushed INWARD. Black frame, glass door, you'll need to get buzzed in or waved for someone to let you in. If you find yourself coming from campus north bound on Vermont and hit a U-shaped strip mall, you went too far. Patsy's is literally right past the corner of 29th street. Once you find it, the worst part is over! The lady working there was super nice, I told her I'd need it fast for a photoshoot and she pushed my order by 2 days. But guys, I recommend you to bring you sash in at least 3 weeks before graduation, the earlier the better. I had : Tommy Trojan head(sideway) with Fight On, my name, and Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Science embroided for $40. Not too too bad compared to other prices at other places around SC! I liked my sash a lot. TIPS: remember to iron your sash! They don't do it for you so after the embroidery it looks pretty messy! Get it done early!!! 2-3 weeks before graduation because they will be swamped and you might not get yours done in time for graduation!!! Working with Raul was great. A few months ago, I needed a quick turnaround for a project at work and boy did they deliver. I found them off Yelp and called in a rush job on Wednesday morning to see if they could get us 15 snapbacks embroidered and done by Thursday evening. I was a bit hesitant since I'm usually not too comfortable with first time vendors who weren't a referral but Raul and the product were amazing! He provided a variety of snapback options, and was very on top of walking me through the process to make sure I was happy with the first embroider before he proceeded with the rest. The only mishap was that the hats were finished a few hours later than planned (which was partially due to the back & forth feedback) so I was unable to pick up the hats given my time constraint. When ordering a set of letters online, there is always an option for you to add all sorts of tagging - hoods, sleeves, chest etc. My advice? Don't bother. If you intend to spell out long words and sentences, there is a good chance you are going to be charged extra for exceeding the base number of letters. Go to Patsy's to get the embroidery done and you usually pay about $5, no matter how long or short the tag is. The most important thing about Patsy's is to call in advance. The owner, Rahul, is often out of the store meeting with clients and his helpers can be hard to communicate with if you don't speak Spanish. Call to make sure Rahul is in before making your way out there. There is a small parking lot but spaces are often limited. You would need to be buzzed in through an intercom to get into the building. Patsy's also digitizes images such as sorority/fraternity crests and logos. Just make sure that you print out a picture that is the same size as you want the embroidery to be, and he'll digitize it in a day or two for about $50. This is a whole universe better than some of them other price quotes I've received that range from $200 upwards. Once in a while, Patsy's makes a mistake, but they are usually remedied pretty easily. 47/100 Yelp 2017 Review Challenge Ugh, I really wish I could leave a nice review for Patsy's especially considering I've been coming here for the past 4 years for embroideries. I loved coming here because it was convenient and one of the closer places to get Greek letters embroidered on jackets, backpacks, etc. The first year I went to Patsy's I had little to no problems whatsoever. But unfortunately, over the years the service has gotten worse and worse. I've come in numerous times thinking my order would be ready (because I call ahead to confirm that my order is ready for pick up and they tell me it is), only to find that my order isn't ready. Or worse, that they've messed up my order and now I have to wait some more for them to fix it. Most recently, I came to buy a graduation sash. Now, I understand that now is an especially busy time for them given that graduation is a month away but still. If I call to ask if there are sashes and you say yes, then there better be sashes when I go in. So yeah, I called in the morning to see if there were sashes (and they said there were), went in and there were no sashes. Alright. I asked Raul, the owner, when there would be more and he said to give him a text the next day because there should be more by then. So I text Raul the next morning and he gives me a call back saying there would be sashes coming in today. I asked him if it would be embroidered with the "Class of 2017" and USC shield. He said they would have to embroider it on, but that it would be ready when I came in. To which he asked, when would i like to pick it up. I said 4:30 PM. He confirmed, yes that the sash would be ready and embroidered at 4:30. Perfect. So I show up at 4:30 PM to pick up my sash and Raul is not in the store; his assistant is. I give her my name and tell her I'm here to pick up my sash. She says there are no sashes left. Excuse me? I tell her that I ordered one in advance and that Raul said She fumbles around looking for one. She then calls Raul. Finally she finds a sash. It is not embroidered. It is 4:45 at this point. She says she can embroider it right now. WHAT?! I came to pick up an embroidered sash not to sit around and wait for one. I needed the sash so I waited. It took around 20 minutes. There was another dude sitting clearly waiting for his sash that had not been done on time either. Clearly, there is a lack of communication going on between management and the workers. I've been patient with Patsy's in the past but at this point, I've had so many mishaps with them my patience has been worn out. Again, I understand graduation season is a busy time but they are so disorganized it's frustrating and adds more anxiety for me as someone who needed to get more embroideries done for graduation. I will not be returning to Patsy's and thank God I found a decent embroidery place closer to my house that is a lot easier to work with. read more

This place is a lot cheaper than other places, but I would not recommend this place if you want something done on time. I saw the reviews for here and took my graduation sash in two weeks before I wanted it. The lady was super nice and helped me with deciding what I wanted on my sash. I specifically told them I needed it on 5/12, since I was unable to pick it up after that, which was two weeks later, and the lady assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. I had them write it down as well. On the Friday before, I called and made sure that I could get my sash on Monday. They first said no and asked if I could pick it up on Thursday the day before graduation. I told them no, I needed it Monday, and wouldn't have given my sash if I wasn't assured i could get it by then. The guy told me he would call me on Monday when it was ready. On Monday I waited for a call, and finally, at 4 pm, when I still hadn't received a call, I called them. They informed me that it was ready and that I needed cash in order to pay. I told them that I had to get money out of the ATM and that I would be about 10 minutes late, but they said it was no problem and that they would stay open for me. They close at 4:30 pm, I arrived at 4:39 to find the store was locked down and everyone was gone. If they were not willing to stay open for me, they shouldn't have told me that they were. I was not able to get my sash, I wont have it in the grad pictures I was getting taken, and I'm going to have to beg someone else to pick them up for me, since I wont be able to. Meanwhile, my roommate went to Greek Escape and got her sash in two days, though at a greater price. read more
