Baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, football fields, hiking trails, and a kids jungle gym. The playground is pretty big with dozens of slides and swings and tons of fun things for kids to climb on and run over! The whole park is kept in great shape in general. You can tell the community really cares about their space here! All in all a very nice park with tons of activities! They also do movie nights in the park in the summer! This park pretty much has everything; playgrounds, open spaces, ball fields, basketball courts, a hiking trail (allegedly...we couldn't find it, but that was most likely our fault,) walking paths, etc, etc. Despite being so large, it's also rather connected, if that makes sense, and you're able to get to everything relatively quickly. The park is more "open" than "large." For example, you can get from one playground to another, without having to take a trek. There is a ton of space, but you're able to traverse the space to navigate the park. There's also plenty of parking. Also, they do drive in movies and stuff here, AND, it's dog friendly, so there aren't too many negatives. The only "downside" I could see is that it got pretty busy, and just being crowd-phobic by nature, it's less than ideal for me. We'll definitely be back early and often.

Challenge Grove Park will always hold a sentimental place in my heart, as it is the place where I…read moretrained for my first 5K. Four years later, I still find myself driving here from time to time to do the old running route. Besides that, I run through the park on an almost weekly basis, as it is part of my running clubs 12 mile Sunday run. The park is open and welcoming. A year or two ago volunteers built the Build Jake's Place, a "boundless" playground which welcomes children of all abilities and disabilities. During my most recent visit to the park this past week, I noticed that a second new playground area is being built. (I can't find the info now, but I think I read that it is going to be a softball/baseball field of sorts, again for all children, regardless of ability/disability). The park also includes a quarter mile track, restrooms, bocce court, a basketball court, and baseball field. There is also what appears to be a soccer or football field set back behind a wooded area that I have not ventured to, but I often see games being held there. A short walk to the other end of the park brings to to an area of the Cooper River, and a large grassy field area where one could spread out and relax. For the runner or walker, there are also some trails, which Cherry Hill Township has been making a point of maintaining in the last year or two, and has encouraged people to take advantage of these areas. I only recently ventured back in these trails, and they are really beautiful, well maintained, and not long or complicated enough to get you lost. If you prefer the roads, a lap around the entire park (Caldwell Road, Park Blvd., Kings Hwy., and back into the park on Bortons Mill) is about a 1.25 mile run. The park area is also home to the old Croft Farmstead, but I'll be honest... I don't know what goes on in those buildings, just that it's a historic area in the township. One thing the township/county needs to improve are the restrooms. On the occasion that they are actually open, they are absolutely awful. Smelly, filled with graffiti, no paper towels, and just filthy. The water fountains could use some upgrading, too... they are forced to be turned off in the winter because they don't utilize no-freeze technology, and in the summer the water is just hot, and therefore useless to an overheated endurance runner. If the park could fix either one of those things, they'd easily be a 4 or 5 star park in my eyes.

Smithville isn't the biggest park in the county but there are plenty of nature trails and a…read morefloating bridge... This bridge actually is floating on a huge lake... If I'm not mistaken it's name is Smithville Lake... They also have a few different parking areas... There are also quite a few historical buildings on site... They do have tours but you should come here in person or check the website...

I love taking my dog here, it's a really fun hiking trail with lots of gorgeous views, they have a huge play ground and the historic buildings are so fun to look at too, I just wish i could get there for one of the tours some day! It's very clean and soothing to sit on the trails and watch the wildlife, they have a kayak launch that looks pretty fun too but I haven't tried that yet! It's a relatively easy loop and it's well marked so you can't get lost (I have no sense of direction so bonus points for that!) they also host festivals here sometimes which are lovely I've been to a few for animal rescues in the past!

A brand new Dog park at Eastampton Gardens apartment complex. A new amenity for the pet parents…read more The facility is pretty large and it is for both small and large dogs. When you approach and please ask if the dogs inside is friendly just as a logical precaution. I went there today and the dog inside was not good with other dogs. I have a beautiful super sweet husky and left quickly. There aren't many dog parks around here so I'm happy to have one so close.

Wish-Upon-A Star Playground has been maintained in nice and very new condition. It is nice to have…read morea playground where 2 to 3 year olds can play safely, explore and have fun. This park has extra street parking and an adjacent basketball court and baseball diamond. The musical toys for littles are a great addition. This is a neighborhood gem.

This hidden gem of a playground is worth finding if you're in the West Deptford or Woodbury area…read moreand have little ones with extra energy to burn. It's a large wooden structure playground with little forts, slides and all manner of fun stuff for kids of all ages to discover. It's even more fun than it looks in the photos I posted (methinks at least). The structure is really large & adults can can follow their kids most places on it if so desired. There are just a few spots where a young child could really take a tumble to the ground below, but that's the hazards of childhood. I kept a sharp eye on kid #1 until pretty recently. He loves this playground the best out of our small rotation though. There are also swings, a balance beam thing, slides and a sandbox. Picnic tables are around for parents & there's a small pavilion area I've seen co-opted for birthday parties. I don't think they do reservations like at Chestnut Branch park in Mantua. There's a much larger pavilion there, but the playground itself is not nearly as nice. The location is off of Crown Point Road past the library & police station if coming from Delaware St. Take the first right AFTER the light at police. There is a small sign. Follow the winding road back to the Little League field. Ample parking and a bathroom that is usually open are available. Sometimes the baseball snack bar will be open during season. We even caught a game once on a whim. Well, part of an inning! 3 year olds are notoriously fickle.

I noticed a few benches and tables along the path if you want to stop and picnic. Overall, it was such a peaceful and serene setting, especially by the water, and the many sweet smelling honeysuckle paths. The park is basically a 2mi loop which took me about 35 mins to complete from beginning to end, with a couple stops for pics, and to take it all in. I only noticed one other person when I started, but as I was leaving, quite a few groups were arriving. So if you want to avoid crowds maybe early is best, or an afternoon start for those who want a lot of company.
