On one occasion, the driver never picked up my child from school, and we were never notified. We believed our child had been transported to Centercourt as usual. Near the end of the day, the school called to tell us that our child was still there, alone, because no one had come to pick them up. As parents, not knowing where your child is for hours is terrifying. I had to leave work immediately to pick up my child. In any emergency, accurate knowledge of a child's location is critical, and this incident demonstrated a serious breakdown in communication and accountability. Unfortunately, Centercourt did nothing to make up for this. We also experienced another incident where the transportation van broke down, causing the children to arrive over an hour late. Based on our experience, I also had concerns that some drivers were difficult to communicate with because they spoke little or no English, which made it harder to address transportation issues when they arose. If you are considering relying on their van service to transport your children, I encourage you to ask detailed questions about their driver screening process, communication procedures, backup plans, and how parents are notified if something goes wrong. Our experience left us feeling that these safeguards were not adequate.

Group lessons are much cheaper ...call ahead for the rates. The pros are really friendly here. You can play on the courts for a fee. Again call ahead for prices, they vary depending on the time of day/night. You can even rent a ball machine to practice your strokes. That is $10 an hour. On certain nights of the week they have round robin and mixed doubles. If you're a beginner, my suggestion is to take some lessons and spend the bucks if you wanna get good. In the late fall the courts are covered with a bubble so you can play in the winter, then they are taken down around Memorial Day.

One very big downside is that this place has an employee who is a male who is pretty big and smokes and I would say around his 40-50s that is very rude. The girl at the desk never provided any information about anything. I did not know I needed quarters for the locker rental, nor did I not know I couldn't wear a baseball cap or have a crossbody bag. As soon as I got on the rink, the attendant told me I had to get off because of my hat. I wasn't upset or anything, I quietly skated off, returned my skates and gathered my belongings. As I was exiting I observed men on the skating rink with beanies on their heads and skull caps. Additionally I observed adults walking on the rink as they were helping their children. I did not know that the rink was also a track. I would think that's a bigger safety hazard than wearing a hat. When I went to the front to inquire about a refund there was a gentleman in front of me who had on a hat and I was tempted to say something to him but I also wanted to see if the clerk would remind him of the hat policy, but she didn't. I don't know if the assumption is that everyone who visits are regulars and know the protocol, but it wouldn't hurt to have signage at the front desk and to also remind the attendants to say something to the patrons.
