When we walked into Price's we were greeted by a waitress saying "make yourself at home", and I think that fully encompasses the experience of Price's. This place is clearly a labor of love and a family first establishment. The walls are covered with mementos of memories past and photos of family and frequent customers. The owner even sat with us at our booth for a short chat after our meal. Our meals were fresh and delicious and everything was super well priced - where else can two people go for breakfast and have a bill less than $30? Great spot for a late breakfast. Ordered chorizo and eggs and the server offered homemade ranchero sauce. It was delicious and a perfect way to start the day. On this exceptionally cold day, the coffee was hot and the restaurant was full which told me it was going to be good if the locals were making it out. Just moved to town and have been trying to find our new "weekly breakfast spot". We stumbled upon Price's on a google search and decided to give it a shot, what a GEM! The service was friendly from the moment we walked in the door. We came around 11:45 on a Sunday, despite a full house, we were seated immediately. Our waitress was so kind and attentive, as were the back of house team. The menu had great variety for options and I loved the a la carte section. I could not believe how inexpensive the menu was, especially given the portions. The country fried chicken was one of the best I've had in my life!! Breakfast tacos were sizable and filling. For only $2-3 a taco, one could've filled me on its own! We also got an order of the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were so soft and fluffy and the gravy was perfect! I loved Prices Chef until I came to have brunch with my family. This place is so dirty. Caked on dirt, it's so gross. Flies all in the windows. The worst part is...I took my daughter to the restroom and as you walk to the back you can see the kitchen area. The floor had the little green (rodent killer) balls everywhere. Fully visible. Wanted someplace local. Found that Price's Chef fit our group's needs. The wait time was a bit much as we signed in but were later advised they were going by the sign-in sheet. Only to have 2 other groups be seated who arrived after we did. Then we were advised, they added us back onto the list they were now going by. This part of the visit was extremely off-putting and we were about to start discussing other places to go. 5 minutes later we were finally able to sit at a table. Our server Veronica, was amazing!! Great Diner Experience. Went to check it out for Brunch. Great 40 year old landmark. Betty Boop decor. Sweet Veronica was out waitress. Everything was perfect! Food Service Experience! We went with our son, dil, and grandson.y son ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with eggs, hash browns and toast. Perfectly cooked eggs- over easy. CFS had lots of breading. It was the 3 rd bite before he hit meat. Daughter in law and I ordered Eggs Benedict- Perfectly poached eggs and delicious hollandaise ! Hash browns crispy outside with soft almost mashed potato inside. My husband had Megas - perfectly cooked tortillas in Megas. Food good quality and perfectly priced. Great value for meal. Price's Chef looks like it's from the 1950's, and it might be! We were greeted by the owner, I think. Super friendly and full of life. While we waited, he fired up a turntable that had Boston's first album on it. What a treat! He seated us in one of the old style round booths. Such memories from my childhood. We ordered 2 sandwiches and a chicken fry. Compared to a deli, my Rueben was kind of small and plain, but it was SO good! You just can't beat a Rueben. Liked the fries too! Whenever we go on vaca my wife loves to get fancy coffee drinks. Latte here, espresso there...after visiting corpus for 3 days I finally had enough and got the hankering for diner coffee. I wanted bacon, eggs, b&g (biscuits and gravy) and coffee . Price's is unique and has a vibe it's been there awhile. I enjoyed the service, the food, and I'd definitely come back. The ambiance is great with an old diner feel to it. The service is normally really good. We've been to the restaurant numerous times over the years and visit again for the first time in 2023 on a weekday morning. Parking is limited in that 6 points area so approach from the back if possible and you may find parking close on the side. There was no wait and the food came out hot. My wife had pancakes which she said she enjoyed and I may have sampled and agreed with. The French toast left a little to be desired taste wise but they were served with grapes on top, which were actually really tasty. Eggs were average, but you can tell why this location has been open for a long time and I'm sure it has plenty of regulars. Overall a good experience. read more

I found this restaurant on the way into town. My go to breakfast is eggs benedict and once I read the comments on them I decided to give them a try. I way disappointed went the waiter brought them to the table and hollandaise sauce with separate. The eggs benedict is served with ham and the ham was one slice of deli meat, very displeased. Eek I hate to do this to a local restaurant, but it was bad and I'm hoping they will fix it so they can remain a gem. The food is good. But I'm sitting there waiting and see several roaches crawling up the wall. I'm not kidding...they pulled out a bug assault gun and started shooting them. how much does that happen that they have that to use? They were the little roaches, which to me are so much worse bc those come in droves. I hope it gets better. I hate to see a local place go down hill but that is just not something that's ok. There isn't space for big parties, I only saw one big table. But the service is top notch! Our waitress was very friendly and made great recommendations. She knew we were first time visitors as she knows all her customers. Even though it was our first time, it's a nice feeling to be treated as regulars and be welcomed. I was looking for Hesters but saw Prices and decided to try it. Love old Diners so I liked it immediately. They have the adjustments to the current government requirements down smoothly. Seating was immediate, the service was friendly and my order was taken right away. Also coffee and cream arrived faster than I could imagine. So far great start. They do the scan menu thing which worked perfectly and I ordered a Western omelette. In proper diner style the food came out fast and tasty. The veggies and meat were grilled without being greasy before the omelet was assembled. Good prep! Great breakfast! The salsa was fresh & tasty but smoked this gringo!
