Walmart Vision and Glasses blew me away. Yes, you do have to wait a week for glasses, but I didn't get gouged like I had before. I paid half of the price for the glasses and lenses for my and I got upgraded to Nikon lenses. At LC they had claimed that my son's lenses only covered plastic and that it wasn't appropriate for children, but at Walmart they said that the insurance covers glass lenses for children and my total cost was $25 instead of the $165 for the same glasses at LC. I also scratched my Nikon lenses at 1 month. They ordered a new pair for free. Don't let the name of Walmart cause you to believe that the glasses are inferior. They have good service, good prices and they don't upsell!

I had a really pleasant experience at this eyeglasses shop, let me tell you about it…read more I came down to Portsmouth NH from good reviews of this shop and looking for a little more selection than I could find in the Kennebunks. A bit of a drive, but that's OK for me, I like to go to Kittery whenever I can and not for the retail but for the restaurant scene (go Black Birch!!). But I found some kickin' frames from some London designer, and I picked 'em on the spot with some seriously high-tech Zeiss lenses. When I picked them up a few weeks later, I thought everything looked fine in the store, but over the course of the next few weeks I realized that these glasses were pretty weird. I had to keep my whole body in perfect posture in order to get the distance in focus. While this was good for my spine, it was distracting and I ended up not even wearing these otherwise awesome spectacles. Jump forward a year later, and I finally brought the offending glasses to an optician in Portland, ME. They informed me that the lenses had been simply made wrong. And that they doubted the shop in Portsmouth would correct the error because it had been more than a year. So my bad. I figured what the hell, I will give it a try. I brought the specs back to the store and they took them over. Long story short, they phoned me up and said "Our bad", the lenses had been made wrong, and they went on to replace them for free!! I am a seriously stylin' dude now, attracting way more attention for my new frames than I am ever used to getting. So that is my testimony, and they get the full five stars for their friendly and generous customer service!!
