This is the second week I have had problems with deceptive advertising. This week I returned coffee and will now stop going to price chopper since driving back and forth to return items costs me in gas. I feel sorry for the employees who have to deal with customer complaints. The service desk was helpful both times, but I walked away feeling unkind. Price Chopper always brings out a bit of nostalgia for me since it's the grocery store I grew up with. The food selection is good and well priced. Aisles are clearly marked and they have decent sales. Otherwise it's not very remarkable. What I love about this location is the staff which are great. No clue what the people here who are unhappy are complaining about. If anything the staff is too friendly. If you have an issue interacting with people, use the damned self checkout. Had really bad diarrhea after eating the frozen cauliflower pizza. . I don't usually go there but happened to be nearby. They have very few natural or organic foods there. Just a reminder. Stay away from processed food. There's no telling where it came from or what happens to it prior to you're getting it or how much nutrition it really has. The aim of the large companies that make it is to maximize profits. Health is secondary. If you get sick there's not really much you can do if it's not out and out food poisoning and even then it would be a long drawn out process read more

This Price Chopper is clean and well laid out. They had a nice selection of meats and seafood. Everything was fresh. They also have live lobsters. Excellent customer service from the seafood counter. Their produce looked very fresh as well. I was impressed with the store. I would not hesitate to stop in there again. read more

This place is the worst grocery store I have ever been to. Their advant edge card no longer offers and useful savings, the prices are ridiculously high, staff is incredibly rude (I had to carry all of my groceries out in an unstable pile by hand because they would'nt sell me a 5cent bag at self checkout with my debit card) I honestly live 4 minutes away and for the price of 5 of their store brand non extravagant items like milk or yogurt I can get an entire shopping cart's worth of fresh meats bread veggies and cheeses at adams or hannafords in kingston, Im not even exagerrating, its ridiculous how much cheaper it is to drive all the way to kingston than to go 4 minutes to this hell hole. Overall, I'm a Price Chopper fan. It's no Wegmans (nothing is), but they have a consistently good selection, good prices, and the staff is pretty much on top of their game. I say "pretty much" because no one even batted an eye when that elderly woman skipped the entire deli counter line. The rest of us took numbers and waited like civilized human beings, but this lady evidently lives above the law. If I was in charge at this grocery store, it would be protocol for the staff to stop slicing meat/cheese, come around the counter, throw that hag down on the ground and let everyone she cut run over her with their carts. Even the carts with multiple gallon jugs of water and somewhat obese children standing in the basket. Because there should be consequences when you don't follow the rules. If you leave your purse there for 30 seconds, they will try to hold it from you and not give it back. I left my purse there today and realized it as soon as I got back in the car and they gave myself and my family a TON of grief trying to get it back. The old lady at customer service with short gray hair was not trying to be polite in the least. She told my mom who asked her for it back to give her names of some ID cards or something in the purse. My mother gave her my name and my boyfriends name. She still wouldn't give her the purse. She kept asking us what else was in it. I kept telling her what names should be found in there because that's what she kept asking us repeatedly. I got mad and started yelling at her because I never expected it to be so damn difficult to get my purse back after I left it for 30 seconds. That lady is rude af. I might have come in kinda ticked off already, but she was super unprofessional. Didn't try to play nice with me at all. They seriously need to fire all these old hags that work there because they are just looking to start sh** with people. All I wanted was my purse back and they had to act like we were trying to steal our own property!! My mother goes there all the time. They know her. And I used to work there. They know us well and they treated us like criminals. They shouldn't be going through people's belongings either. All I should've had to say was I just left a small black purse here 30 seconds ago and that should've been it!! I hated this store for a long time now and this just confirms why. 10 Lanes, but only 3 are open in a busy store. Lane #1: Checkout Person (oblivious to the long line in her lane) and the Two Shoppers in front of me decided to discuss what the Shopper checking out (in theory) should purchase: she selected 2 different kinds of cheese, several different sliced fruits, several different types of soda, etc. . and needed help deciding what to purchase involving long conversations - during the course of which food got mixed up, entailing more delay. Switched to a Lane #2: Two young men buying a lot of beer without proper ID, pulling out fake ID, paperwork for their RE Broker, etc. etc. while the accommodating Checkout Person managed to help them get their booze after getting a manger and going back & forth in order to make a sale. The man in front of me had a single item, but those two guys needed their beef & wouldn't let him go ahead of them. End of Story: It took us 25 minutes to check out 5 items we picked up in 5 minutes and if I was not with my husband, I would have left the store and gone elsewhere. PS: The two ladies in Lane #1 were still having their debate when we finally got to leave the store. I'm here now , all I was trying to do was get a price on a few meats to go a bbq,but after 15 mins of not being able to , I came here. I have found Price Chopper to be a very friendly, well stocked and great shopping store. Folks in all departments are very helpful, the produce folks do not hesitate to go in the back if you can't find something you are looking for. The meat department is exceptional, great prices and specials and they have actual butchers there to fill your special requests, even for sale items. cutting them to order. Their gas plan is a great giving real discounts at the gas station across the street. They even have an actual live florist on site (not all the time but always there when I need them for something special for a holiday) and even if not staffed the selection for quick pickup is always very fresh and vere well priced. read more

Disappointed with my visit on 2/28/2022. As I walked down an isle, there was a merchandiser unloading and shelving the bread while in discussion with a few other men. Leading the loud, boisterous conversation while customers were shopping nearby, this man was touting Trump and insulting our president. I could not care less about his opinions, but the fact that he found it appropriate to be using his job, and Saugerties Price Chopper as his arena to do so, angered me. It was completely unprofessional. I asked my cashier who he was, as he walked by while I was at check out. She told me that he's his own boss, but told me I could speak to the manager if I'd like. Overall great store and the staff are very knowledgeable! My biggest problem right now is this store could use a nice face lift and remodel. Many of the other price choppers in the capital region of begun this transition. It is possible that since we are so far south of Albany its lower on their list! I love grocery shopping, so I take my supermarkets very seriously! This location is usually very good about having enough staff on during peak shopping hours, which is a definite must! The store itself is clean and well stocked and the selection is pretty good. I'm a HUGE produce section kind of girl, and this one does the job! The only downside is that the parking lot gets a little hectic at times. I usually park off to the side against the wall to avoid the traffic jams that occur at the front of the store. read more

I have been coming to visit my cousin here in Saugerties for over 20 years . I have shopped at Price Chopper for over 10 years.I have to say I have found the quality of service and quality of their meats and produce has waned over the past 2 years. I don't know why but quality is not there anymore. I think part of the problem there is no real local competition hence poor customer service and produce. As one of my pre-planning stages goes for any Instacart city, when Kingston's location (zone) opened about two weeks ago with this store at it's heart (besides the Petco and CVS in Kingston), I had to preplan and check this place out. However, besides seeing my older car (I used to own pre-2015) in the parking lot, when I went in and checked it out, things here were smaller. Wondering when this place is planning to change it's name to a Market32 (although nothing anywhere says its planning to). It's too tiny to be a Price Chopper, but just the right size to be a Market32 like almost all of them I've seen in Albany recently. Although only 12 of the aisles have signs overhanging, the refrigerated section on the one side of the store isn't marked by a sign, nor is the extra baked goods marked in the one corner. Although I had no plans to actually buy much today when I first walked in, by the time I started to go up and down the aisles looking at almost every product they owned, I couldn't resist not buying anything and picked up things to buy (all to total a little more than $14 worth of groceries at the checkout stand). I found some animal crackers and some granola bars, and even some Lunchables and even some different Capri Sun juice packets (10 fruit punch packs in a box) along with something else I wasn't initially in knowledge of finding and buying here: safety razor blades. Was hoping to find some smaller bottles of Diet Snapple Peach Tea here, but found none going up the juice aisle: I'll live without it now that I found a substitute for myself for lunch. I'm surprised I didn't seem to find many employees in the aisles today. I don't believe I saw anyone, and what made it seem worse is that I checked out on the self checkouts (but looked around and saw no one at the registers either). I bet if I walked up to a register I could have received some attention, but I must resist the temptation here. The self checkouts worked like a charm, though I wasn't crazy that the registers wouldn't allow me to find a PriceChopper AdvantEdge card account by phone number. There was no option to look it up: not on the register and not on the pinpad. But what I didn't like is that the registers didn't have their volume loud enough to hear the beep sound when I successfully scanned an item (and yet the register in back of me - that register was too loud and annoying.) So many problems here, but okay if there's something that brings me here. A little far off the track of 9W, but it's workable if I'm over in that neck of the woods and it far beats using Instacart's competitor - Shipt - at the nearby Target Stores in Kingston at a dilapidated mall now. read more

This store is terribly stocked, they often don't have enough stock of sale items. Their produce is so-so and they have a terrible selection. I have found so many items out of date that it is a joke. It's like they don't even train their employees about expiration dates. The people that work the deli have no sense of customer service and act as though their legs are bound to the deli floor by chain and their attitude reflects it. The busiest times for a deli still never see more than two people working back there. And if I happen to see a third person, they are cutting cold cuts for the hypothetical next customer in the "grab-n-go" section instead of helping one of the many customers standing in line. The frozen vegetable section is poorly labeled and everything is always a mess. If this were my store or had my brand on it, I'd be firing many people. read more

For as big as the store is, they don't have much of a selection/variety of food. The produce covers your basics but half of it is spoiled. No organic or natural foods section. If you eat mostly packaged, processed foods then this place will fit all your needs. 1/3 of their prices are lower (than other big grocery competitors) but 2/3 of their prices are actually higher. Good local supermarket with everything you would expect to find. You won't have to worry about any salmonella poisoning here. The prices are good and you can pretty much find anything you may need here. All the big brands are here pushing their mass produced products to the locals. I would come here if I wasn't concerned about hormone or high fructose sugar infused foods, but I actually care about my body. read more
