Very nice food, just a bit on the pricey side, so make sure you take advantage of one of the special offers floating around on-line.

Well this place won the Hull Daily Mail's Continental Cafe of the year…read more I however don't know how the hell it did. I had Fungi Rapini and my daughter had prawns in a sauce, I am sure had mushrooms and pate been fresh and homemade then it would have been very nice unfortunately I suspect these are bought in. The prawns however were better and my daughter enjoyed them, although the cloth lettuce as a garnish was more suited to the bin. The Fillet steak I had was very nice as was the Halibut chosen by my daughter, the vegetables where adequate but after having to send the bottle of red wine back (they had tried warming it under a hot tap). I was not overall impressed, combined with the condiment set having residues of previous dinners on the outside and a feeling that it wasn't the cleanest of places I have decided to give this one a miss next time. Others may like this place however you make your own judgement.

I started with a Moules Blanco it was greatly presented and tasted as good as it looked. Then had a Calzone for main course. This is not a meal for the small eater. It was huge and packed full. It was a struggle to finish it but it tasted so nice it would have been a crime to leave any of it (well thats my excuse and i am sticking to it ha ha). The service was also great. The owner was always around and chatty and they seemed happy to server you. All i can say is Great Food Great Place Great Price A must to goto if in Hull :)

Lucca Bar & Kitchen - Meatballs, lovely meatballs!

I had booked a table in advance (as is required when using a Tastecard), but I was stood at the door by the restaurant for a good 5 minutes and wasn't acknowledge. I ended up stopping a member of staff that was just about to walk past me, to let them know that our party had arrived. We we're taken to our table and given menus to look over. About 15 minutes had past and everyone had made up their mind what they wanted, so a colleague informed the member of staff that had shown us to our table. She asked if we minded waiting a little longer as the kitchen don't like it when they put too many orders through in such a short space of time! We agreed for the time being but it was another 15 minutes before our orders were taken! The starters took 20 minutes to arrive, so we had been sat at our table for 50 minutes before we even got anything to eat. As for the food, it was nice, and always has been everytime I've visited. I had the Garlic Bread with tomato and pesto for starters and it filled a whole pizza tray. For mains I had the meatballs which were really nice and meaty with a good taste. The sauce had chillis in, but it wasn't too hot. I don't like hot or spicy foods but this wasn't too hot for me. I would certainly have it again! There was a good choice of desserts available and all of them were nicely presented. On the whole it is a nice, modern restaurant with good food, just let down by the really slow service at the start of the night

Pasco's Italian - The steak was cooked at top level. The peppercorn sauce was on point. The potatoes were roasted to perfection.

This was my first time at Pasco's in Cottingham and it won't be my last. As soon as we entered the…read morerestaurant the servers where extremely friendly, funny, and hospitable. Nothing was too much and happiness radiated from them with an addictive vibe. I ordered the antipasti plate as my starter, which was a selection of meats with bruschetta and chopped tomatoes. The meats were a little oily, but I understand that is the traditional way, and the bruschetta was to die for. When mixed together in one mouthful it was an explosion of taste... Juicy fresh tomatoes, the bite of garlic, the crunch of bruschetta and the smooth texture of the meat. Excellent starter, highly recommended. For my main I had a dish off of the specials board which was filet steak, in peppercorn sauce, with potatoes and vegetables. The vegetable came to share with the other guest on the table and it included Brussels, green beans, carrots and onions (unfortunately I didn't get a picture quick enough). The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the texture melted in my mouth like every good steak should. 100% perfect. The peppercorn sauce was creamy and also had the perfect bite of pepper. The potatoes were roasted to perfection. Also, a delicious bottle of wine, served very professionally topped off the whole meal. We had a party of 3 and everyone had a starter, a main and we ordered two beers and a bottle of wine. The total was £80 and it was worth every penny. The only downside was the noise as the walls bounced it off from every direction with the room being an open space. But you can't complain too much because it's expected for such a popular restaurant, and good on them to fill up with so many people. I hear every night is extremely full and we have previously tried to walk in another time to find that they had no tables available unless we waited quite a while. So make sure you reserve a table in advance so you don't end up disappointed. You won't regret it! Best restaurant in Cottingham right now.

On this occasion, I had a mozzarella and rocket starter. Would have been better if the plate wasn't covered rocket and had more mozzarella/tomato. For main I had a 'special' pizza, which has salami and prosciutto ham. there was a decent amount of ham but the salami was thin on the ground. When I came to the desserts, I avoided the dessert platter so share like the plague! after our last visit and ordering the afore mentioned dessert, you can't help but feel ripped off! there is barely more on the sharing platter then there was on the dessert plate of someone who had ordered a single portion. The restaurant is nice and clean and has quite a fresh look. The staff are nice but there is one person there, who I'm assuming is a manger of some description as they're in normal clothing, who is over the top with the niceties! to the point that its irritating! generally though, the staff are good and helpful. We have a tastecard so we got bogof on all courses which made the price reasonable. without the tastecard, I personally wouldn't want to go as I feel its over priced. our reservation was for a group of 5 and our waitress had no problem in accepting 2 tastecards for our party and splitting the bill into two. some places can be a bit funny about this.
