This was my first time back since going vegan and I was so surprised at my many options. When we arrived, it was really busy due to it being the school holidays. There was also nine of us at one table. This still didn't affect the service. These guys are so efficient! On their main menu, it states that certain dishes can be made vegan. Didn't expect to see this on there at all. Most of the family were dining on the lunch for £6.50 menu (two courses) and I was over the moon to discover I could pick from this menu too. I went for the minestrone soup with lovely, fluffy bread (minus the butter) for my starter. It was almost a meal on it's own. So tasty. For the main, I went for the special pasta of the day. Penne with sundried tomatoes, red onion and mushrooms in a basil oil. This was awesome. They even have sorbets that are vegan-friendly for dessert, but I was pretty full after my two hearty courses. This place is so cheap, the staff are super friendly and they seem very accommodating to dietary requirements. It's always busy, so definitely book before you visit.

As Jim Carey once said "I CAN'T LIEEEEEE" and so here goes, the place I wanted to love so much,…read morewhich turned out to be a monumental disappointment and for this reason, I will speak the truth and nothing but the truth. I don't like to blow my own trumpet nor do I like the smell of my own farts, however, I do think I know what an authentic pizza looks like. After all I have eaten literally thousands off them (I am a self confessed pizzaholic). One of the most important things about making a good pizza is having a wood fired oven. It really does add so much flavour to the pizza, so when I heard these guys had the real deal, I was salivating at the prospect of getting my hands on my own slice of Napoli. After paying the tenner or so for my Margherita with peperoni and aubergine I was instantly appalled by the appearance of my pizza. Not very appetising to say the least (please see photie for evidence). First of all it was dusted in polenta, giving it that Dominoes / Papa Johns style texture, my aubergine was cut up in cubes and put on top RAW meaning I had uncooked aubergine (the worst uncooked veggie ever) and it was absolutely swimming in cheese. Why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why, does everyone have to over-cheese their pizza, AAArrrrggghhhh!!!! Its so annoying. Anyway, deep breaths, I can do this, stay calm now..........just get to the end of the review and have a wee lie down...... The fact of the matter is, less is actually more, you don't need half a block of cheese to make a pizza taste good. It just adds an extra 500cal to the meal and leaves me bloated as hell that's all. Good quality ingredients and good olive oil, that is what you need. Right, I think you get the picture and I've probably said enough. The reasons there are no photos of pizza on their website should have been a warning. Rant over, buona notte......

The new menu is a bit more expensive around 9 - 12 for a 12" pizza. The pizza is still as good. They now have a healthy living plus award, which I assume is better than a regular award. And they deliver as far as East Kilbride and Barrhead.

Had the Goth ice cream which a black coconut ice cream With Jäegermeister syrup black sprinkles and wafer .Coconut creamy meets chocolate bitters and orange citrus . The syrup they use is sweet and thick and adds another dimensions of texture to this already complex up desert . Absolutely fabulous . I will definitely be back to try their buckfast shake . --- Came back the next day because I wanted to get their extremely limited goth dessert again which they were sold out of . Sad . But at least I had the chance to take advantage of their £4 Tuesday burger meal deal . I added caramelized onions for an extra pound but would recommend springing for the cheddar cheese or bacon for an extra £2 which is still a good deal ! As the the taste ? It's £4 burger with fries . No complaints ! As for the buckfast shake ...what an interesting concoction . It's strong ...I can only imagine what having straight buckfast would be like ..I'm glad my first time was in shake form as I'm sure the cream and milk toned down the alcohol and sharpness a lot . The overall flavor really grows on you . It reminds me of like a Neapolitan shake ( heavy on the chocolate and strawberry and no vanilla ice cream ) with a crap ton of added fermented strawberries and maraschino cherries and maraschino cherry syrup . If I was the chef I'd tweak this by adding a rum flambé banana slice or just banana in general would be so nice . I like this place a lot and would low key love to be a business partner or be able up a similar place in the States . Definitely a gem in Glasgow.

Pizza is definitely the food trend of 2016 and another pizzeria opening means a happy Rocco G :)…read more I had virtually no expectations for Baffo appart from the fact that they had a very cool name (meaning moustache in English). Inside, the restaurant is modern and vibrant and i noticed a very nice wood burning oven at the back which is key to a good pizza. Its probably not fair to compare Baffo to Paesano as the types of pizza they prepare are rather different. While Paesano do a classic Neapolitan style pizza, which is wonderfully soft and doughy, Baffo's is crispier, drier and with a mucher thinner crust. Therefore for people who dont like the former they may enjoy Baffo more. My visit to Baffo was a bit mixed. Service was really slow but the staff were nice and attentive which made the wait a bit easier. When my pizza arrived, I enjoyed the flavours but felt it was a little dry and over cooked. The ingredients were of good quality and so I think there is real potential here. Another positive is the selection of Italians craft beers, perfect with a pizza! I ended my meal with a tiramisu and must say it was exceptional. The perfect balance of espresso, booze and biscuit, yummy!! As Baffo is a relatively new place, its surely only going to get better. Really look forward to getting back there soon once everyone has settled in.

I have been there twice and now I can confirm, I am a fan!…read more Lovely interior and decoration, the restaurant is not as big as i expected but still comfortable enough. Staff is very friendly and attentive, but I found service a bit slow both times i visited - maybe i shouldn't compare it to Paesano Pizza since they got more than one wood fire oven, but we waited for our pizza around 20 minutes, and also sides (first time we had fries and croquette, and last time just fries) took quite a bit to be served. That was my only issue, but i guess they just opened few months ago and they still need to "get it right", if you know what i mean. Pizza is really good, not the Neapolitan kind of pizza with big bready crust (Paesano style), but the traditional Italian one - thin and crispy. They have a bigger selection compared to Paesano, and also offered the option to go for either 12inch round pizza or hald metre pizza. I have only tried the 12inch one for now, but will definitely give the other one a go next time! They also serve pasta dishes, seen them a few and they look tasty - maybe will try that as well sooner or later! Dessert wise, i tried their cannoli and yummy, it was amazing, and also affogato was okay and really nice presented. Overall, nice place, good to have another great pizza place in Glasgow, especially in the West End!

This is like Groundhog Day. It seems like every day I'm writing a review about a new pizza place,…read moresuch is the scale of new pizzerias opening in Glasgow. This little takeaway literally popped up near my flat out of nowhere. Now I have to walk past a delicious pizza place every darn day and somehow try and stop myself from entering! This is going to be a real test of grit seeing as Lamora's pizzas are mighty fine. One of the key things about a good pizza (I reckon) is the dough and their dough is wonderfully soft and light, but with a slight crisp, just how I like it. They have a wide range of good quality toppings and even do my favourite pizza which consists of Tuna and onion. It may sound wrong but it's a total Italian classic, showing that these guys know their stuff. If pizza's not your thing (amazingly there are plenty of people who are averse to it, shock horror!), Lamora have daily soup specials, pastas and focaccias. I've tried their minestrone and it was really hearty, flavorsome and rammed full of delicious vegetables. This along with a garlic and rosemary focaccia for £5.50 this is a meal not to be sniffed at. Simply great value for money. Lamora is a wee breath of fresh air in this part of Charing Cross. Being the only real takeaway in the area it serves up fine pizzas from lunchtime until late and has a very cool and fresh vibe that means it would not look out of place in a hipster area like Finnieston. Although predominantly a takeaway, there are a good 4 or 5 tables which means you can sit in if you like. Most pizzas are priced around the £8 mark which again is excellent value considering the size and quality. This is definitely my favourite pizza takeaway in Glasgow and I'm pretty chuffed to have it soo nearby!
