I'm so glad I had the opportunity to stop by on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May, sunshine mixed with a cool breeze, and just a handful of visitors so it didn't feel too crowded. There is a good collection of rare succulents. I never had one before so I am starting off with a baby Echeveria. It caught my eye even though it had yellow leaves which the owner plucked away. She said it was normal for leaves to go yellow as it's growing. The Echeveria is one of the cat friendly plants. I had my cats sniff at it and they didn't care for it. Baby succulent will be safe :) What I found online, "succulents are beneficial for improving air quality, promoting a calming atmosphere, and potentially even aiding in stress reduction and boosting productivity. They also offer low-maintenance care, making them ideal for indoor environments." Closing up with it being a good size store located at the end of Ringwood Ct. Plenty of parking. Prepare to spend 30 minutes perusing around in finding your ideal plant. Owner is quite helpful with explaining on how to care for a plant and what to choose. I'd say it's a good starter plant for the beginning of a hobby and I'd say good for the kids to learn about nature. My first plant as a kid was a terrarium.

As we walked back to our car, we came across a shop called "Plant Slut," located on the bottom floor of the parking garage. It was a delightful surprise. Previously, there was another plant shop in that location so not sure if they rebranded, but it had a different name. We were immediately drawn to a funny candle with the F-word on it, and my girlfriend ended up buying 4 candles for us. The sweatshirts were hilarious and perfectly labeled for plant lovers. The shop is adorable but small. The merchandise is reasonably priced for the bay area. Parking is very convenient as it's right there by the shop. You just park, go down to the first floor, and you'll find it facing the colorful walkway that was recently painted, opposite a variety of restaurants in the pedestrian-only street.

According to their website, they have over 240 varieties of peonies under cultivation. It's a bit of a drive to get there (a very scenic one), so you want to check their website to ensure they will be open. We caught them on one of their open days before they closed for the season (usually around Memorial Day). But they sell potted plants all year round, and you can make an appointment on their website. Bare root shipping is available from Aug. 15-Dec. 31. The lady who owns the place is friendly and helpful. I purchased 2 of the potted plants, "Bowl of Cream" and "Nellie Saylor." Compared to what they charge in most nurseries in the area for similar sized peonies, these were a bargain! Next year, I'll be sure to go earlier in the spring, to catch most of the plants in bloom.

I actually have been trying to come here for some time 1) LOCATION: This place is located right near the airport. So you have trees flying over you which is somewhat of a nuisance if you are trying to talk to someone and are hard of hearing! The trees are nicely organized and you can even down load the availability sheet before you come. They update the sheet pretty often, so you get a good idea of what's available before you go. 2) TREES & PRICE: Quality: Hands down quality for the price. Everything looked pretty healthy. I didn't see any diseased trees, and there were no dry or dead/ weeping trees. They are organized and there are so many!! Usually when you go to a nursery, you tend to see a lot of plants and just a handful of trees. Not only are there a ton of trees (see the list), they are massive compared to trees in other nursery's. Price: WOW!! Such great prices. They ask for a donation of 80-100 per tree, which is a lot less than some of the other nursery trees we have picked up. Typically you pay anywhere between $170-350 for a tree similar to the on ones in the tree lot. Not only are they great prices the trees are around 9' tall for some of the bigger ones. Same price. The only bummer is that it is only open to the public Thur-Friday, between 8-12. It makes it hard to get in there with such a small window.

We've been taking our now 7.5 month old puppy to Lucky Buddies for several months and they have…read morebeen incredibly patient through the entire process! As first time dog owners and definite helicopter parents, the staff have been so kind as they answered my MANY questions when we started her at daycare and went through our first boarding experience. They always show our pup care, love, and most notably patience with her puppy behaviors. They are attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating about what she needs on any given day, like extra breaks and down time and will give us reports on how she's doing. They have the same rotating staff at daycare and boarding, which is so nice for consistency. We love the Instagram pics they'll post throughout the day as well! We know she can be a lot with her wild puppy energy, and they welcome her anyways. She LOVES going to daycare, which is all you need to know. We're so happy we found Lucky Buddies and hope the community continues to support this small business!
