This place is a great find! I've gotten flowers from her before for gifts. But this time, I needed a ring of flowers for a funeral and she was able to deliver bright and early in the morning. Def recommend her for any floral need!

From that very first visit, this place stood out--not just for its beautiful selection of plants, but for the incredible knowledge and care behind it. Mercedes is truly the heart of Plant Lush. She has always been so generous with her expertise, whether I'm picking out a new plant or trying to troubleshoot something at home. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that passion makes all the difference. When Mercedes moved the shop to a larger location in Willow Glen, I didn't hesitate to follow--and I'm so glad I did. The new space is even more inviting and has room for even more variety and creativity. One of my favorite memories here was celebrating my 40th birthday at the shop. Mercedes hosted a terrarium-making party for me and about 20 of my family and friends, and it was such a special experience. Everything was thoughtfully organized, fun, and completely unique--everyone left with something they made and loved. Plant Lush isn't just a plant store, it's a community space filled with warmth, creativity, and care. Highly recommend to anyone, whether you're a seasoned plant parent or just getting started.

After spending almost 30 minutes walking around trying to find some plants to purchase using a gift…read morecard I received a few Christmases ago, I was informed at the register that due to their system they were unable to redeem my gift card. It really seemed like the person helping me didn't know really want to help me redeem it, which was disappointing. Telling me to get in touch with the person who gave me the gift card to make them resend me the gift card just puts up a barrier to make me purchase that likely means I won't come back. Also I'm pretty sure it's illegal to decline a valid gift card with no expiration date in California. It's the burden of the business owner to keep good gift card records, not the customer. Update after previous review on another platform: What a disappointing reply from the owner of this business. Rose was literally standing right next to me, who did you think that girl was? We would've happily produced ID if asked for it, but I don't think that was the concern since we weren't asked. The "printed piece of paper" is clearly a plant themed paper gift certificate. Not that uncommon for a small business and it's been in my wallet for the last few christmases since I haven't gotten around to this, clearly for good reason. I own a business, that sells gift cards, if a customer has a gift card to redeem and I'm having trouble finding it/redeeming it, then the burden is on ME, not on the customer. The goal of any business is to lower barriers to purchase, not raise them. What if the person who gave me the gift card died? What if I don't talk to them anymore? What if they deleted their email with the receipt? There are so many scenarios in which it shouldn't be the burden of the customer to find the solution, it's on the business to do so. Mind you, the store was not busy, we were the only people in the store at the time. It felt in the moment, as it does right now, that the owner simply wanted us to leave as opposed to actually helping us redeem the gift card. The lack of customer service is astounding.

But the selection is way better, especially if you need more than just a few plants. We needed some large orchids for a special event. The person who helped us was really nice, and spent quite a bit of time showing us different selections and talking about them. We had been to a florist earlier in the week who charged around $90 for the same arrangements. At the local SW grocery store, they were charging $50 for them. Their prices are flexible. If you haggle, you can score a discount.

As I entered the store, I was warmly greeted with smiles by the lady. She was very kind enough to help me and decided to put the heart shaped bamboo & regular bamboo together, which I thought was a great idea since I told her how my mom wanted a bamboo! It was a total of $60 since I wanted to add the vase, which is pretty reasonable. If I plan to buy more plants and flowers, I'm going to come back here because this place has a great variety of them. :D To note, be prepared to bring cash since they only accept cash.

I specifically came for some zinnia flower seeds, and they had a great selection of Renee's Garden seeds. I picked up 5 packets and then headed out into the garden section to see what else might pique my interest. I saw some colorful plastic and durable pots in various sizes. I couldn't figure out the gallon sizes of the pots even when looking at the price labels. Instead of gallon sizes, it gave inch measurements. Oh well, I guess I'll have to eyeball it. At the register I reminded the cashier about my senior discount, and he asked for my phone number. None of the numbers worked (even though they have in the past), so we resorted to using my husband's number. The store was festively decorated for Christmas, and I might come back for some cute lawn decorations, when they are discounted after the holidays! LOL Can't wait to sow my zinnia seeds for next year's summer blooms!

They've really honored the tradition of the former Orchard Supply Hardware. I try to make this my first stop when looking for hardware items and avoid the big box stores. (At least as my first stop, more on that..) The challenge I have is that about a third of the time, I won't find what I'm looking for here and have to look elsewhere anyway. I love, though, how there are knowledgeable people working here who are genuinely interested in and available to help me. Their stores are a nice, manageable size (I don't feel like I need a roadmap to get around them, like the big box guys.) Plus there are often liquidation deals and sales that make things enticing. If you support local retail, as I do, I recommend popping into your local Outdoor Supply Hardware next time you need a hardware item!
