I would not have been able to enjoy this 6 day vacation with my family if it had not been for her dedication to making my Carter comfortable and feel secure. My dog had walks with her dog which is a something he had not experienced before ,and in a miraculously short time he was comfortable with her dog and was treated like family . When we first went to dogtopia, sometimes I'd forget to pack their lunch during daycare but the staff would still feed them.

I loved how prepared and professional she was. She took a lot of time getting to know our cat and learning about his needs and routines. Never once did I get the feeling she wanted to rush things or she wasn't interested. A few days before we left town, we received a call from Darlene to confirm the pet sit dates. I really liked that and gave me the warm and fuzzies! While we were away, she sent us a pretty detailed email about how everything was going, including how he was eating, playing and using the litter box. It added a nice touch and made us feel really good. When we arrived back home, we found a report card and a long note, detailing his behaviors during the visits. It showed that Darlene didn't just throw food at him and left. Instead the note described how our cat had warmed up to her with little gestures I know only he does. I also loved that she requested a call to a voice mail box, no matter the hour, to let her know that we made it home and our cat wasn't alone the next day. Otherwise she would have continued her visits which I think is AMAZING! We missed out cat terribly, but knowing he was cared for with a lot of love made our trip so much more special. As first time dog owners and definite helicopter parents, the staff have been so kind as they answered my MANY questions when we started her at daycare and went through our first boarding experience. They always show our pup care, love, and most notably patience with her puppy behaviors. They are attentive, thoughtful, and accommodating about what she needs on any given day, like extra breaks and down time and will give us reports on how she's doing. They have the same rotating staff at daycare and boarding, which is so nice for consistency. We love the Instagram pics they'll post throughout the day as well! The years of stress, neglect and starvation she experienced wrecked her nervous system. She couldn't be kenneled without total panic, would nervously guard the door when left free, she was kicked out of multiple day cares, attempted to attack a guest in our home when she felt scared (didn't actually hurt anyone!). She never relaxed, was always on guard, honestly I don't think any of us slept through the night for months. When I called the shelter for advice, they made me feel like an idiot and a monster for ever needing to leave my house. Said my dog couldn't be kenneled and I needed to leave her for free but when I left her free, she was dangerous at the door so basically - I was now trapped at home since she couldn't be boarded and I couldn't have a sitter come over to take care of her due to the guarding. I had to change my work schedule and cancel trips to accommodate my dog. We called Cindy for help! Cindy helped us help Brandy to regulate her nervous system, heal her brain and feel safe again. After a few months, Brandy happily goes to her kennel, stopped guarding the door, sleeps through the night, loves when her sitter/walker comes to visit, she's currently snoring in the lap of a house guest she met a few hours ago. Among others, we were referred to Ashley Scontriano. We paid Ashley for numerous pre-trip visits, a few hours each, to acclimatize our pup, and allow Ashley to determine if he'd be a good fit. We valued her opinion and trusted her judgement. We received the thumbs up, with less than a week to go before our trip. Ashley agreed to care for our pup while we were out of the country. What a relief! We dropped our pup with Ashley, the morning of our departure, excited for our vacation. Less than 24 hours later, already 2k miles away, we received a text from Ashley which began "Please think of a plan B..." A plan B?? We had cancelled our plan B when Ashley gave us the green-light, prior to departing. The message continued, and I paraphrase, that our pup kept her up all night, crying, and she just couldn't take it. She didn't see that coming? Separation anxiety from a puppy, the first night away. She's a "dog professional?" What to do?! We'd cancelled our plan B, and wouldn't ask friends to take on a puppy for 2 weeks. Thankfully, Ashley had a possible solution -- we could pay her $200/day for "doggy boot camp!" HA! And I wonder how often that has worked with other clients -- too busy, too wealthy to say no? We called Beds & Biscuits. Fortunately, as our initial plan A, we'd completed the pre-reqs and they were able to accommodate our puppy. Glowing progress reports, too, from his stay with them -- yes, a needy puppy, craving attention and love, something they provided him. Something we thought Ashley had agreed to provide him. Instead, she wanted more money, after agreeing to watch him, and proposed drugging him to "better manage his anxiety." And so, after spending $$$ on Ashley's pre-trip evaluations, delivering our puppy into her care, and flying 2k miles away, Ashley reversed course, bailed...his "separation anxiety" (one night in) was too much, but it wouldn't be too much if we'd pay her $200/day? No thanks. And now she's demanding $130 more for the day/night she "cared for" our puppy. Ashley has said that WE didn't do enough before departing -- that the time at her home was insufficient, that she was "set up to fail." As a "dog professional," wasn't this something she should have, could have flagged BEFORE we departed? She didn't -- she assured us our pup would be well cared for, that he was settling in just fine. And then we departed, flew 2k miles, and without a conversation texts us "Please think of a plan B..." Incredibly unprofessional. Lacking completely in scruples and integrity. Further -- if you care at all about who you're entrusting your dog to, the quality of the human being -- who you're giving your money to -- then please do what we should have done, prior to this whole mess. As soon as we get to the gate, Mocha starts smelling all her friends' leashes and can barely control her wiggles. She is THAT excited to be there! At just one year old, she's the sweetest, gentlest girl. She understands pack hierarchy, respects our tiny 16-year-old 4-pound Chihuahua, is gentle with our 13-year-old big dog, and even knows how to wait her turn. That doesn't happen by accident. Dogs are truly Allie's specialty, and it shows. I genuinely believe Mocha wouldn't be the precious dog she is today without Allie's knowledge, structure, and care. We are so grateful.
