The truck was in probate so at this point we couldn't do anything with it. I was arranging to buy it from the estate. My mother worked so hard to pay off the vehicle before she passed. The truck was worth $18,000-$20,000. In July I had 2 gentleman working at my property and they decided to steal the keys and take it for a ride. They took it into elizabethtown and they got pulled over by a police officer. This officer left these to gentleman walk away with no charges. They even had drugs in the vehicle. Instead they called cockers to impound it. My family and I had made phone to the officer and also to cockers with no help. We all told them what happened on deaf ears. I even went into cockers to offer them $2250 to get my mother's truck back and they told me we will call you back. They didn't even give me the courtesy to contact me again. They want $12,000 now to get the truck now and they are looking forward to sell it. This isn't the 1st time cockers has done this! The way I see it I would call it legal grand theft auto! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! read less

I called AAA and they sent me a highway service technician from Wayne's Towing in Elizabethtown. Response was timely. Two units responded. One truck ran a signboard while the other provided me services. The whole setup increased the safety on scene exponentially, both for myself and for the technician servicing my vehicle. My service tech Emoni made our experience a pleasant one. Despite my concerns that my manhood was in question, having run out of gas on a date with my wife, Emoni kept things humorous and light and gave me the ribbing I deserved, without being condescending or rude. He made an otherwise frustrating situation a moment to laugh. He was very cautious and watched traffic as he worked. He got me going and pointed me in the direction of a gas station. He was respectful of my vehicle, brought the right equipment to fill my cap less fuel system, and didn't spill a drop on my vehicle. Our tow operators are some of the most under appreciated folks out there. Please, when you see a tow operator, move over and slow down. Proceed with caution. It may be my new friend Emoni out there, just trying to feed his family. Wayne's did a great job for me and they get my five star review.

Joe Mays Towing came to my home in the middle of the night and towed my car from the parking lot…read morewithout cause. I've parked in the same spot every single day for the past two years with no issues. I got home from work around 8 PM, parked as usual, and when I went outside at 8 AM to leave for work, my car was gone. They towed my vehicle 10 miles away and then charged me $300 to get my own car back. The person who claimed to be the manager was extremely rude during the entire interaction. He told me my car was towed because my permit "wasn't shown," even though it absolutely was. He also admitted they towed another car because the permit was "hidden," which tells me they are not even properly checking for permits before towing people's vehicles. When I questioned their pricing, he said that if I needed a tow from the side of the road it would be a "different rate," but refused to tell me what that rate even is. Completely sketchy and suspicious behavior. The fact that they can't or won't provide the standard roadside tow rate raises more concerns about the legitimacy of the $300 charge. I also asked for an itemized receipt and proof that my permit supposedly "wasn't there," and they refused to provide either. That alone says everything about how they operate. This was completely unnecessary, stressful, and expensive--especially when my permit was visible the whole time. Their behavior shows a lack of care, professionalism, and accuracy when towing from residential areas.
