Pretzelmaker

Pretzelmaker at International Plaza and Bay Street in Tampa is a great place to go for quality pretzels and salty snacks. Everything here is fresh and delicious. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need.

Just had their pretzels stuffed with cheese and omg to die for. I love pretzel but this took it to a whole new level. Plus the best part is they make them when ordered, they are not premade sooooo it's freshly made

Sign prices and computer prices are very different and employees have no way of changing them. Poor management.

Soft pretzels are a soft spot for me and I will be returning to the Penguin Pretzel Factory. They have 3 small tables and a counter to sit at and eat. They also have a few outside tables for eating. Upon entering, you are welcomed in by the team. And for such a small establishment, they have a team of people working, slinging pretzel dough all over the place. The menu is very innovative and reasonably priced. There is a choice for everyone on the menu, whether it's a hotdog wrapped in pretzel, or pepperoni and cheese, or even a hamburger!! The pretzel twists and regular soft pretzels are expertly cooked, and liberally coated with salt. If salt ain't your thang, no worries. They'll make you a fresh pretzel sans salt. Great pretzels! Great atmosphere! If you love pretzels, put the Penguin on your list!

The nuggets were perfectly sweet and a generous portion. The icing was delish too! Also ordered the pretzel dog with cheese and bacon. I would not order this again, but I would try one of the stuffed sandwiches. The outside layer of pretzel dog was great and you get two dogs that are large enough to share. The inside was doughy in spots and the bacon was the mushy shelf stable type. We ordered with light salt but the entire combination was entirely too salty. If you don't like overly salty, consider ordering without salt. Also not a big fan of the cheese sauce. Tastes like canned nacho cheese to me. We'll give it another try and stop by to order next time. I think there are more options in store than thru DD?

The banana was delicious to me, however it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, the Oktoberfest suited everyone's taste. The Oktoberfest. I could've ate two of those schnitzels all on my own. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive, super friendly- down to earth guy. The interior also blew me away with their decked out supply of German snacks, deli, beer, chocolate, random grocery assortment, all the way down to the furniture and how the employees dress; you feel like your legit in Germany. On the weekends they also have live performances, unfortunately we got there too late but from what I've heard from others that has been, it's a lively great time. Definitely will be coming back to try enjoy their live performances and food!

I had such high hopes for this place. :( The selection is very limited and perhaps I missed something (entirely possible), but I did not see a price list for the deli case. We did find a unique assortment of other German products- some we haven't seen in many years. The restaurant portion was quite busy and the customers looked happy. We were flooded with nostalgia and left in hopes of dining in on a less-busy day. I ordered two meats, including the German bologna. During the drive home, my family and I noticed a terrible odor-- the kind where we started pointing fingers at one another. We never suspected that the package from the deli was the source. When we opened it at home, a nauseatingly funky, ammonia-type smell came from the German bologna. While the liverwurst smelled okay, I could not trust it after the bologna and decided against keeping it. Wasted time and money. Dang! The staff is super nice and that was truly a plus. However, I doubt we will be back. My family is very bummed over this.

I actually ended up going twice in one day. Overall, it was a great spot and the beer was really good. The place itself is cool, and it was definitely a fun atmosphere. We just happened to go on a crazy day with cheerleaders in town, a kids festival, and a car show all happening, so there was a lot going on. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the kitchen was a mess. And I don't just mean when it was packed. Even at lunch when there weren't a ton of people eating, it still took forever for the food to come out. Honestly, if everything else wasn't good, the kitchen slowness probably would have dropped this to a 2 or 3-star review. That said, the beer was great and I liked the overall place enough that I would definitely revisit. They just really need to get the kitchen timing figured out.

I grabbed a Big Pluckin' Pils, a German pilsner that had a nice hop bite with a bit of bitterness, but still light and super refreshing, perfect for a warm afternoon. It sits just far enough from the heart of Ybor that the Cuban influence fades, and that's perfectly fine because this place leans fully into being a beer bar with food that matches the mood. I went straight for their Number 1, the Big Pluckin' Pils. If we had stayed for a second round, the Bublina, billed as the Best Czech Pilsner in the World, would have been next. Their board covers a wide range, from lagers and IPAs to Hefeweizen, porters and other malt‑forward brews, so it's easy to find something that fits your taste. With German‑style beer, a Bavarian pretzel feels required, and ours arrived piping hot from the oven with two mustards. The honey mustard was excellent, but the spicy mustard was the one that cleared sinuses. Pain, but the good kind, and absolutely delicious. BarrieHaus is a friendly, easygoing beer bar and we had a great stop here. My only disappointment was discovering that the adorable stuffed pretzel decorations aren't for sale. Someone could make a little side business out of those. [Review 40 of 2026 - 2225 in Florida - 25231 overall]

We've enjoyed their beers many times back home in New Jersey, so it was great to finally stop in. We only had the beer, so I can't comment on the food, but the beers themselves were excellent. Three different bartenders checked in with us during our visit, but only one seemed interested in any kind of conversation. For my drink, I took the chocolate old fashioned (13 dollars). It was strong enough and chocolatly to enjoy. For my main plate, I chose the chicken wings (10 for 17 dollars), half fat rabbit sauce (quite garlicky) and other half siracha. While the wings were not breaded, they were still fried. It was definitely crispy, but still meaty and tender. The sauces were flavorful, and the siracha had the right amount of heat. The ranch dressing was homemade and so good, I ended up drinking it. There could have been more celery, but it was fresh and crispy. They only had one dessert, and unfortunately it wasn't homemade, so I passed. My bartender was friendly, but busy. She had a helper, but lots of patrons to serve. Yet, she was still very nice and helpful when needed. The vibe is social and casual. I would have thought they would have more USF students, but mostly locals who are enjoying a good atmosphere. Outdoor seating is available as well, and it looks like you can bring your pooch too. When it was time to check out and pay, I noticed they forgot to charge me for my drink. When I mentioned that, they told me not to worry about it. It was a very nice gesture from them. Parking here is easy as it is located in the Publix complex. There is also a Don Julio's and Bundt Cakes nearby for dessert too. The Fat Rabbit pub provides great casual bar food in a social atmosphere. The indoor dining is large enough to feel comfortable, and outdoor seating is also there if you want to enjoy with your dog.
