My wife and I came across Penguin while on Facebook. A mutual friend had shared their FB page, and…read morecollectively we said we had to go. Soft pretzels are a soft spot for me and I will be returning to the Penguin Pretzel Factory. They have 3 small tables and a counter to sit at and eat. They also have a few outside tables for eating. Upon entering, you are welcomed in by the team. And for such a small establishment, they have a team of people working, slinging pretzel dough all over the place. The menu is very innovative and reasonably priced. There is a choice for everyone on the menu, whether it's a hotdog wrapped in pretzel, or pepperoni and cheese, or even a hamburger!! The pretzel twists and regular soft pretzels are expertly cooked, and liberally coated with salt. If salt ain't your thang, no worries. They'll make you a fresh pretzel sans salt. Great pretzels! Great atmosphere! If you love pretzels, put the Penguin on your list!

The nuggets were perfectly sweet and a generous portion. The icing was delish too! Also ordered the pretzel dog with cheese and bacon. I would not order this again, but I would try one of the stuffed sandwiches. The outside layer of pretzel dog was great and you get two dogs that are large enough to share. The inside was doughy in spots and the bacon was the mushy shelf stable type. We ordered with light salt but the entire combination was entirely too salty. If you don't like overly salty, consider ordering without salt. Also not a big fan of the cheese sauce. Tastes like canned nacho cheese to me. We'll give it another try and stop by to order next time. I think there are more options in store than thru DD?

One thing I enjoy when I'm here is the happy hour deal. $5 for loaded tots, cheese curds, or wings,…read moreall great food options. My go-tos are the loaded tots and the cheese curds. The loaded tots come in a hearty portion with bacon bites, cheese, sour cream, and jalapeño. The toppings really do make each bite flavorful, with a different combination in every bite. The sauce with the cheese curds carries a spicy punch, and the cheese curds themselves are a bit on the salty side, but I really enjoy the chewy texture. There's always a good menu of brews on tap. This time I tried the Cream Warrior, and I liked it a lot. It's light and comes with a cream soda/Yakult aftertaste, and as an Asian kid, I loved it. The place gets really popular for trivia night, with a happy, communal vibe. The staff are always friendly. One thing I especially love is the TVs at the bar: there's almost always two on sports, one on a game show channel, and the highlight is the TV in the corner tuned into a Too Cute channel featuring kittens and puppies.

The food all looks SO good but I was on a budget and there for a party so DRANKS! I love that a beer focused place also has a lot of delicious mixed drinks. I had the key lime pie martini and a white sangria. Both were AMAZING. I'm not usually a martini girl but this one was vodka based which I will always take over gin and it was a lovely sweet and sour flavor. And you can't go wrong with a good white sangria. The guava mojito is calling me back! The bar workers were awesome and SO fast considering the big crowd. We were also there for surprise trivia night and decided to participate and we had an amazing time. I already asked my other friend group if we can go sometime so obviously I had fun!
