I scoured the web for the best sounding wrap I could find and finally set my sights on Grand River Brewery. I ordered a Santa Fe wrap to-go, got there before it was even ready and was home to eat it within 5 minutes. To my dismay they had left the spicy ranch off the wrap. It was dry and unpleasant and that was an unfortunate tell of what was to come. It was accompanied by an odd tasting pickle, which particularly hurt my heart because I am a woman who loves a good pickle. This next part was especially jarring because the ambiance of the restaurant really seemed like they would have good fries, I'm sure they would be good fresh, but the ones I found inside my to-go box were not that. Sad, hard, dry fries that tasted and felt like they had been sitting out for hours. Truly disappointing. In summary, twas certainly a mistake to treat myself to this TWENTY ONE dollar meal that didn't even include a drink...21 dollars for a horrible wrap, horrible fries and a weird pickle. The mozzarella triangles were average. The pepper jack balls were average. The hot honey chicken wrap was mentioned at the table as being very hot. The staff like I said was very pleasant. The interior is unique, cozy and will make you feel like you've traveled to an old world village. Tonight I had the Perch, one of their featured dishes. The perch is lightly dusted and pan fried, very flaky, fresh and flavorful. Their entrees include two sides. I chose the mashed potatoes with gravy and Cole slaw. My wife had their French Onion Soup, which was rich with melted Swiss cheese, croutons and had great flavor. Metzger's is one of our favorites, and we definitely recommend checking it out when in Ann Arbor.

I'm glad for ANY Amish business that succeeds outside the confines of it's hood, in this case Shipshewana is where Ben's Soft Pretzels started by an AMISH FAMILY! So happy for them, F this modern world and modern people can go to you know where both literally and figuratively. Amish people are some of the last people on Earth who keep it real.
