Micro blading eyebrow services: I went to Pretty Parlor back in early 2018 to get my eyebrows microbladed. They cost a pretty penny as microbladed eyebrows do. My qualm with their service is that I was told they pigment they were using was semi permanent and would fade after a couple years. This is what made me comfortable to have the service done.Fast forward 3 years and the eyebrow pigment is still on my skin.This is so unfortunate because not only was I not particularly happy with the placement and shape of the eyebrows but now it seems I am stuck with them forever. I never would have had this service done if I knew they were akin to tattooing my face. I contacted Pretty Parlor and was told they should have been faded by now-and if not they would be gone by spring this year. Spring has come and they're not budging. I am so dissatisfied that I am stuck with these on my face for life. read more

I love these ladies. They're all so sweet and welcoming! Their location is cute and small, I love it. I get overwhelmed in crazy chaotic salons where it feels like they give you a standard cut then shove you out the door. Pretty parlor is personal, you really feel like the attention is on you when you're in there. I've been getting my hair done by Ivy for about a year now, and I plan to stay with her as long as she's in Reno! My hair was a disaster and she saved it. What a hidden gem in Reno! I see Alyssa, she's the fastest hairstylist I've ever been to. I usually have to bring my kid/kids with me and it's never a problem because she's so fast. Her highlights are perfect and she does a dry haircut which is different than I've had before. The salon is so stylish and all the staff are very friendly. Parking is easy, at least during the week. So this was my first experience here, I haven't let anyone touch my hair other than my mother and grandmother (cosmos out of state). Now that I live too far away I have been in need of a very reliable and talented stylist (who isn't scissor happy). I was very reluctant to go to someone, however this stylist came highly recommended by another stylist. Allyssa has blown me away, she first asked me how I preferred my hair cut (wet or dry)? Dry was my preference, she took me to the bowl, washed, massaged, then dried my hair. She cut it perfectly, being that it had been about two years since my last one, my hair needed more TLC than I expected. She truly transformed my locks and made a masterpiece! It has taken me 2 years and countless bad hair cuts and colors to find a place that offers every little thing I was looking for! I went to go see Katie M. to do a brow wax. I have been going to the same aesthetician for years up at the lake - since relocating, I needed to find someone local. I was a little nervous changing up, but Katie did an awesome job. I told her what exactly I wanted and didn't want - and she handled with care! She took her time waxing, trimming and shaping - they even tint at Pretty Parlor too! I decided to try it (for the first time) and my brows looked awesome, it is my newest addiction. I was so excited to get my hair done here but all I ended up with was a terrible baylayage (actually just orange stripes in my hair) and burned a huge hole in my pocket. My hair was extremely healthy before and even with a deep conditioning treatment my hair was destroyed. I thought since I was paying a lot I would end up satisfied but instead I ended up crying for two weeks about how hideous my now orange hair looks. read more

Yesterday I had a facial given by esthetician, Katie McKee. It was amazing. She is soothing, meticulous, professional and knowledgeable. She explained each step she was going to do, knew her products well and explained what they were used for and the affect it would have on your skin. Throughout the facial she asks if the product burns or is uncomfortable and is aware of your smallest movements and asks if everything is OK.
