I hired Creole Gravy Private Chef LLC for my 50th birthday. It was a murder mystery dinner party…read morefor 8 couples including a few family members the total was 21. I was told the minimum is 25 people so that's what I was billed. The meal was Caesar Salad & dressing bowls, Antipasti cones (variety of cherry tomato, cheeses, green olives, and salami),Turkey & Cranberry sliders, Ricotta Meatballs, Meatsauce & Italian Cheese Stuffed Pasta Shells with ricotta cheese. A punch, lavender lemonade with tasted only like lemonade and I paid an extra $250 for a mimosa cart. Based on the barely warm food and lavender lemonade that was store bought and tasted just like lemonade, the food and service was overpriced. While I enjoyed the flavor of the food and the chef himself was friendly, they arrived 40 minutes late from the requested time and the food was barely warm. The event was to promptly begin at 6:30 with dinner but I asked the Ja'Nissa (Chef C's wife/partner) to please arrive at 6:00 so that the food would be set up and guests would have drinks when they arrived because many of the guest were coming from out of town. I also did not appreciate being constantly reminded that gratuity is not included which was already stated in the contract I signed. Being reminded over and over before my event, another time at the end of my event( at which time I informed them both that I will provide gratuity once I write review and I would provide them with a copy), and first thing in the morning next day I get a text asking how I would send the gratuity. I did not appreciate the chef's wife calling for all of my guests' attention during the middle of my event (interrupting dinner) to advertise their business to my friends and family. Overall, I found chef to be sweet, humble and professional. The food was good. I feel like Ja'Nissa did not have the same level of professionalism as chef C. Ja'Nissa was very responsive and communicative via email, text and phone calls anytime I had a question or concern she took the time to answer right away. But being 40 minutes late for a 3 HR paid event, delaying the start of the professional hired for the murder mystery dinner part was absolutely unforgivable. I question the other reviews posted, only because my experience was totally different from the other customers who posted reviews. I would not use the caterer again. I cannot in good conscience recommend the business to people who trust me to give them quality recommendations. Again, today an email from chef and text from Ja'Nissa asking when I would send the gratuity and how so they can verify it was received to the correct account. The gratuity will be sent the same way the deposit and final payment were sent and clearly those both were received. In the end I do not feel like I got my moneys worth on timelines or presentation. I will add the meatballs and turkey sliders were Luke warm but yummy, the rest (salad cups and antipasti sticks felt half empty and not sufficient but rather very small portions. The guests served themselves food and drinks and the team charged for the food, set up and removal of their items only (not clean up of the area used). Equally disappointing was that at 10pm when I finished cleaning up, there were 8 cups of Ceasars salad left and I wanted to have a salad for myself since I was hosting and didn't get much to eat. Well only to find out chef packed the small dressing bottles of individual ceasar dressing with them when they left. I took a chance with the company, I will do my homework better next time.

Everything was incredible from the pork tenderloin sliders, mashed potato bar, chicken tenders, shrimp, charcuterie board, fruit tray, homemade French onion dip with chips, banana pudding and more! All food and drink stations were kept full throughout. Attendees were so impressed, many took note for future events of their own! France was easy to work with from making suggestions for the menu, to scheduling, set-up and more. Highly recommend her for your catering needs!
