I was referred to SW via my brother's daughter's wedding experience with them which was exceptional. The consulting was valuable, helpful and made decisions easy. Our unique and specific requests were delivered above expectations. The service before, during and after was superior. Now the food. Being father of the bride, my wife and I were quite busy all evening and had little time to eat. Every other conversation we had with our guests started with a raving and positive compliment regarding the food. The presentation was perfect, the delivery to our guests was on point. If you're wondering, did we ever eat? The team that worked our event knew what it was like to be the host. Every time I turned around the manager was there to provide food and drink for my wife and me. They made sure to have food ready for the bride and groom. And made sure they ate before the party. Bartending was excellent. Courteous, professional and fast. Bottom line is this. SW delivered as promised and exceeded expectations in EVERY category. It is with pleasure and from personal experience that I recommend them.

Mashed potatoes were creamy along with green beans that were cooked just right. Shrimp and grits, pulled pork and chicken tenders were all great choices. The staff was very attentive and focused on excellent service. All in all, Southern Way ranks at the top of my list.

Through email correspondence we negotiated for some add ons and take aways. I needed to speak with someone about some of negotiations and I then called and spoke with the owner Cal. Cal was super nice about what I needed and didn't need. He offered his services and little things because he wanted to make sure his company was represented well. I believe the issue came in when Corey arrived to the venue and realized that it was a Lesbian wedding. He didn't stay, we didn't know he came until we say the 2 servers he sent were setting up. The reason for the low rating isn't because the food was fabulous. It was. It was the customer service from Corey. The servers were amazing, they assisted with cutting out cake, making sure everyone was served well and that the food was laid out. When he came back to get the servers and his utensils, he didn't ask us if we wanted to keep the leftovers, he didn't ask how was the service, nothing. They packed up whatever left overs we had and took it. We were super confused when we realized there was no food left for us to take. Food we paid for. He just came in grabbed stuff and left. Then we paid for tea and lemonade, we only got tea and water. I would not recommend them for catering ever.

I want to be very honest about my experience with the Corley Mill House. I got married on…read more June 15, 2019. I chose this venue because of the inclusiveness of it all and me living out of town. I don't know that I would choose this venue again due to these 5 most important factors for me: Communication Mrs. Sheila was very good at responding back to my emails very quickly! I was able to reach her by phone and setup times to come in. However, on the pricing sheet it stated there were many other items for use. I asked several times in January and February for the list of items. She said it would be finished by the end of February but I never received it. Food I was the most disappointed with the food. I chose an option for a beef brisket carving station which on the menu explicitly states it is carved in front of guests. There was no carving and the small sliders were already put together. I also chose a mac and cheese action chef station in which the menu also states there are many toppings to choose from such as pulled pork, bacon, mushrooms, ,etc. There were no toppings but bacon for the mac and cheese. The beaufort stew skewers were cold and did not seem very fresh. The bartender made my pineapple, rum, and strawberry drinks all wrong. I sent a very specific email stating how these should be made. Instead the ingredients were poured in a pitcher and served from there. Those drinks were to be made when ordered and shaken. Friendliness The entire catering staff that day were very sweet. However, the bartender had a less than pleasant demeanor and not very friendly. I do not feel I had any issues with Sheila or day-of coordinator Nancy as far as friendliness was concerned. Mrs. Sheila was always able to make time to meet me when I wanted to set a quick meeting. Nancy was very pleasant and friendly the day of. Ease of the day I will say that it was a HUGE relief and help to have Nancy directing the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. It is also a huge help because they do help with clean up and getting things to your car. This is a major plus! I rented and paid for 7 hours. 4:30 to 11:30! I did end up cutting the wedding short because many guests had already left and I was feeling tired. I ended and left around 10 or 10:15. I was very disheartened to hear that my family that stayed behind to gather my personal belongings felt rushed to get out of the house. As I was leaving, things were already being cleaned and put away. This should not have happened as I paid for the event to go to 11:30. Cleanliness On the day of my wedding, the card and gift table linen had several crumbs of some sort on which I had to brush off and a small stain. Positives of the venue Good space and beautiful grounds, help with logistics from Nancy during rehearsal and the day of, and they set up everything for you. Needs Improvement FRIENDLINESS from bartender, cleanliness, quality of food and providing exactly what is offered on the menu, taking the time to understand exactly how I wanted things set up, and making my family feel rushed to gather my belongings even though they were still on paid time.

Some of this lateness may have been because of an accident and no fault of her own.
