I gave her notice within 24 hours that I did not need her building because it would not hold the amount of guest I had intended to invite. She kept my deposit in the amount of $375 because I canceled the very next day to be exact and she informed me that "I should have read the contract". Please read the contract first before booking any type of services with this lady or you will lose a large amount of money like I did. Why are you lying????? You did not give my full deposit back. That's the reason for this review ma'am. I met with you in person and spoke with you via phone. You should have pointed out the most important stuff in your contract, such as Non refundable deposits and that would have immediately been a deal breaker for me. I don't see how you feel in your mind you should keep my deposit of $375 and the only thing we discussed was a date. No services were rendered!!!!!

If you have the time, this beautiful house is worth it, but you will walk away feeling like something was missing. Reconstruction was a complicated and often ugly situation for both sides, So it can be a very difficult topic. Although there are some artifacts and some good information on static displays with in the home, the tour guide did not seem to know much about either topic. It lacks virtually any furniture or belongings from Woodrow Wilson himself, and it was not very versed in terms of its artifacts from Reconstruction. When telling the story, it is often falls short. Woodrow Wilson lived in Columbia in this house during the period and it shaped his attitudes and opinions and ultimately led him to run for office. That's the primary reason Historic Columbia made the era the focus. I believe it is the only museum dedicated to Reconstruction. Wilson lived in several homes as an adult, but only two growing up. The one in Augusta is much more focused on Wilson. I find the topic and the occupant of the home very fascinating, and if you really want to visit an important American landmark, you definitely should. Keep your expectations tempered though as it may not have enough artifacts from either the president or the era for your taste. There are two tours per day for this house. Visit the Historic Columbia gift shop at the Robert Mills Home to get tickets. It is approximately two blocks away.

The hotel opened in Late January/February 2025. Checking in was good. Parking is free. I say that because a few hotels close to the VA hospital charge $3 for parking. Pillows are okay (too soft for my liking). The room was clean. The decor is simplistic yet inviting. I will be trying breakfast in the morning. Maybe walk around and see the gym and pool.
