I booked the venue for 10/25, but on 10/23, things went left. Up until then, communication and everything else had been fine. However, the owner gave one of my vendors incorrect information regarding communication, which wasn't true and felt unprofessional. That's when my experience started to shift. Another thing that bothered me was being asked to pay a damage waiver, then later finding out from my decorator that the owner had been onsite during setup. When I arrived around 7:30 PM for my Halloween photoshoot, the owner was sitting outside in her car. While I was inside taking pictures, she remained nearby. Once I realized she was still there, I decided not to continue my shoot and texted my decorator to come gather her things. Once my decorator came to collect her items, the owner joined us inside and stayed there until we finished, which added to the uneasy feeling I already had. Even though the event itself was canceled and I only used the venue for a photoshoot, I still paid for full-day access and expected to feel comfortable during my rental time. The venue is beautiful, but the owner's approach and lack of professionalism really took away from what could have been a much better experience. Update to Owner's Response: First, let's talk about communication. You were being lazy -- plain and simple. You know we've been communicating through email and Facebook Messenger, and your own response to my message (which I'll gladly post) proves my point. Second, I changed my personal phone number, which I'm under no obligation to share with you, especially since we were already in contact through multiple other ways. Instead of reaching out by email or Messenger like you've always done, you chose not to contact me at all -- and then lied by saying you couldn't reach me. What's worse is you contacted my decorator first, before even attempting to message me directly, and I have receipts of you admitting it. Third, let's address the deposit situation. I was asked to pay a damage waiver while you were onsite the entire time, monitoring everything during setup and throughout the evening. That didn't sit right with me, because if you're physically present the whole time, what exactly is the waiver protecting you from? Also, when we book an event, we're paying for private use of that space during the hours listed on the contract -- not for the owner to hover or interfere. You're supposed to be on contact for emergencies, not stationed inside the venue watching over everyone like a chaperone. Lastly, I don't care if you and my decorator worked well together or if other clients like you being onsite -- I didn't ask for you to be there. My review reflects my experience, not anyone else's.

Everything was set up as I asked for it to be. Throughout the process I felt that special attention was being given to my requests and timeframes. The owner even threw in some extras that I had not thought to ask for. I was grateful for her consideration, because that was above the tenets of our contract. Many of my guests remarked on the space and inquired about booking it for their events. I was so pleased, that I have already booked the space for another event this year. I am always excited/grateful when supporting small business owners goes well. I can say, without a doubt, that Luxe will be my go to venue in the future.

I chose this venue because of the inclusiveness of it all and me living out of town. I don't know that I would choose this venue again due to these 5 most important factors for me: Communication Mrs. Sheila was very good at responding back to my emails very quickly! I was able to reach her by phone and setup times to come in. However, on the pricing sheet it stated there were many other items for use. I asked several times in January and February for the list of items. She said it would be finished by the end of February but I never received it. Food I was the most disappointed with the food. I chose an option for a beef brisket carving station which on the menu explicitly states it is carved in front of guests. There was no carving and the small sliders were already put together. I also chose a mac and cheese action chef station in which the menu also states there are many toppings to choose from such as pulled pork, bacon, mushrooms, ,etc. There were no toppings but bacon for the mac and cheese. The beaufort stew skewers were cold and did not seem very fresh. The bartender made my pineapple, rum, and strawberry drinks all wrong. I sent a very specific email stating how these should be made. Instead the ingredients were poured in a pitcher and served from there. Those drinks were to be made when ordered and shaken. Friendliness The entire catering staff that day were very sweet. However, the bartender had a less than pleasant demeanor and not very friendly. I do not feel I had any issues with Sheila or day-of coordinator Nancy as far as friendliness was concerned. Mrs. Sheila was always able to make time to meet me when I wanted to set a quick meeting. Nancy was very pleasant and friendly the day of. Ease of the day I will say that it was a HUGE relief and help to have Nancy directing the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. It is also a huge help because they do help with clean up and getting things to your car. This is a major plus! I rented and paid for 7 hours. 4:30 to 11:30! I did end up cutting the wedding short because many guests had already left and I was feeling tired. I ended and left around 10 or 10:15. I was very disheartened to hear that my family that stayed behind to gather my personal belongings felt rushed to get out of the house. As I was leaving, things were already being cleaned and put away. This should not have happened as I paid for the event to go to 11:30. Cleanliness On the day of my wedding, the card and gift table linen had several crumbs of some sort on which I had to brush off and a small stain. Positives of the venue Good space and beautiful grounds, help with logistics from Nancy during rehearsal and the day of, and they set up everything for you. Needs Improvement FRIENDLINESS from bartender, cleanliness, quality of food and providing exactly what is offered on the menu, taking the time to understand exactly how I wanted things set up, and making my family feel rushed to gather my belongings even though they were still on paid time.

We chose this venue for both my daughter and now my son's upcoming wedding based on many things, but John's vision for the future of this venue and the new additions, along with his wonderful personality, made The Corley Mill House the perfect spot for our events. The upgrades completed by John, the location, and the inclusion of many items needed for an event really made planning so easy. I highly recommend a visit to this venue as you make wedding plans. The grounds are beautiful, well kept, and easy to maneuver for all of your guests. The location is easily located for all those attending your event.

My wedding date was placed right in the middle of Andrew being stationed over 1,000 miles away & my final semester of nursing school. Joan took all the weight off and made the planning process so fun and easy. She was very responsive at all times and adjusted things depending on my husband and I's preference - even at the last minute! The day of the wedding, she was a lifesaver. She kept everything timely yet flexible. I remember one mom specifically when the DJ was calling for the bouquet toss and I started running to grab my throw bouquet but Joan was right there when I turned around with it. That's the backdrop for our August 15th wedding. From my first conversation with Joan, I could tell that she was a kind and sweet soul. She assured me that planning a wedding from out-of-town would not be an issue for her. Her pricing was reasonable (and looking back, probably a steal given all the work she did) and she even offered a nice discount when booking through WeddingWire. Our first in-person meet up was fantastic as she was able to arrange for meetings with ALL the major vendors and schedule a tour of the venue. As stated, this was extremely helpful and efficient because I did live in another state so meeting time was limited. From the very beginning she made it clear that she was willing to work within whatever budget we were comfortable with and proved this when she went above and beyond to find more cost-sensitive vendors when initial ones were out of our budget. She is extremely attentive to details and thought of all kinds of things that only an expert in the field of weddings would even consider. I could always easily contact her via text or email and she was always willing to hear my ideas, review images and help to execute my vision. To say that she is organized is an understatement. She was an excellent record keeper, maintaining spreadsheets and providing diagrams and timeline handouts for vendors and the wedding party. Although an extremely stressful time in anyone's life, COVID definitely added some additional twists and turns that we never anticipated but with her help, we were able to navigate each hurdle. Anything that I needed handled was done so expeditiously. My day went perfectly, the theme came together just as I imagined and I would definitely recommend her services. As icing on the cake, the weather all week predicted a high probability of rain, specifically at the time of the ceremony, however there wasn't a drop of rain from the time we started the ceremony to the time we finished. I'd like to think Joan had a little talk with God for that one haha. I highly recommend her services for anyone looking for an experienced, effective, enthusiastic planner who will make your dreams come true!
