For the past 7 months I have been coming here for great service and because they are black owned. I always saw the nail tech, Nish, who always did an amazing job on my nails and I received several compliments and I always tried to refer her services. I was never late to my appointments and always tipped well. I even purchased 10 boxes of girl scout cookies from the cousins of one of the employees as well as purchase jewelry from their salon. I got my nails done for an upcoming cruise and a day before the cruise my thumb nail completely broke off. I went online to try and schedule an appt but none were available so I messaged Nish on IG asking if she could squeeze me in to fix. Please realize, I was just there and got my nails done and we talked about the cruise I was going on. Nish responded to my message indicating that she was sorry my nail broke and and said she could see me but it would have to be before 5:30. I responded back indicating I could come at 12:15 or 1:45 and asked if I should soak my nail in acetone. I didn't hear from Nish so I came to the salon during one of those times I mentioned but I don't recall which one. Nish was able to fix my nail we all chatted I bought jewelry from another employee and actually over paid for it because I wanted to be supportive! Not once was I told that I didn't use correct procedure with coming to the salon. Nish just told me that she doesn't check her IG that often and she made sure I had the salon's number in my phone which I saved for future reference. Fast forward a few weeks, I tried to schedule a new appt and I got a message that I couldn't book online. I called the salon because I had the number saved now and I was told the owner would call me back. I didn't get a call back so I called the next day and asked for Joye to see if I could book over the phone. Nish answered the phone and said she blocked me from scheduling appointments because I made her feel uncomfortable with my walk in appointment. To say I was flabbergasted is an understatement. First, I apologized for making her feel uncomfortable because that definitely wasn't my intention. I asked why she felt uncomfortable and she said it's because they don't take walk ins. I then asked why she just didn't say she wouldn't be able to take me until I scheduled an appointment and she didn't really answer that. I once again apologized and let her know that her continued conversation with me on IG implied that she could squeeze me in without an appointment and perhaps she could have clarified at that time because I could have gone somewhere else and just gotten my nail painted white. It's not as if I wanted it done for free...I paid for my nail to be fixed. I asked Nish if I could give her feedback if she was open to receiving it and she cut me off and said no, she was not open to receiving it. I asked if it was possible to see one of the other nail techs considering I made her feel uncomfortable as I still wanted to support the business and she said no. I don't want to gaslight anyone so if she felt uncomfortable I can respect and acknowledge that even thought it was not my intention to make her feel that way. However, a business should always be open to feedback. Considering Nish was not willing to listen to that feedback I will post it here in hopes that the owners can use that in the future so they don't lose clients that faithfully advocated to others about the services received for a situation that could have been prevented. 1. If a tech is messaged about appts on IG chat immediately let the customer know that all appointments have to be booked online. 2. Don't reschedule appts via messaging on IG because I have had an appt rescheduled even though looking back, this is something I could have done on the app. 3. On your online booking engine...put your phone number on it so it's easily found and I don't have to do a separate google search to find it. 4. Be clear about what your expectations are up front and save everyone time and money.

Definitely made a bad first impression after 20-30 min I always leave. I'm starting to think that's the point or what they want me to do. I will not be back. I originally asked for a gel manicure after an acrylic soak off but after realizing I didn't have time I asked to just stop after the soak off, which is what my guyfriend next to me asked for as well. I was charged for a full manicure and soak off while my guyfriend was simply charged for a soak off, even though I specifically said I only wanted a soak off. The "manicure" was absolutely horrid-- I never asked for a top coat but received a very rough single coat that makes my nails look uglier than they are without any product. When I came out of the salon they were peeling and I plan on removing the top coat off at home :/

So, here is an update of what happened post-yelp. It took about 2 days after this was posted for ANOTHER nail to lift completely off the nail bed once again, so I had to take all them off since the one in my yelp review had been bent/injured so much it was swollen. It wasn't long until both of those nails(my actual natural nail after I took off the extensions) ripped off/got torn, so I knew that she filed my nail down too much in the first place. This really was a shame because I wanted to like this place so badly. I really did like her initial work-until I noticed the structural issues in her nails that have never happened to me before at other salons. I honestly felt like she rushed me and should have just canceled or rescheduled my appointment in the first place instead of having me sit there for an hour only to have the whole nail lift off after two weeks(which btw, I talked to my beautician friends and consulted google and the nail bed only lifts off that much when the nail tech doesn't clean/dry your nail enough for the acrylic to latch on). If you want cute looking nails for something super short term, then go here. But if you want nails that have a stability longer than 2 weeks and dont leave your nails so weak that they split in half and are bleeding-go somewhere else.

She tells me I have dry places on my feet and if I want that taken care of it will be an extra $3. Oh shoot, it's only $3, let's splurge a little. All was going well until I feel a cheese grater grinding my heel!!! Wth!! Uhm, NO!! As a business do you not know the damage these things cause and how easily it can quickly shred into ones feet causing bleeding, infections, etc.?? I'm here for a pedicure, not to have my feet destroyed. Not to mention there was no foot rub; nothing. A quick scrub with three purple pad, some quick lotion on the legs, and polish. That's it??? $28 for a cheese grater, slap some lotion, and I'm done? Look, I know a foot rub isn't everyone's cup, but it is mine. I've never had a pedicure NOT include at least a quick rub.
