Yes it's a chain, but I can't help loving picking up lunch here. The food is creative and tastey.

I used to really love this location, which makes this review disappointing to write. I came in twice over two days, hoping my first experience back was a fluke. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The food simply doesn't seem to be the same caliber it once was. I also ordered a cappuccino that was served in an oversized cup and was so heavy and milky that it barely resembled a cappuccino. I ended up throwing it away. Most concerning was the atmosphere. Despite very few customers, service was slow, and a supervisor was loudly berating employees the entire time. The staff looked defeated and deflated. Culture starts with leadership, and the contrast between this location and other locations in the city--where employees are welcoming, smiling, and engaged--was impossible to miss. I hope management takes a hard look at what's happening here. read more

I arrived and was disappointed with how unkempt the place was. It was about 20 mins before closing and they were already in shutdown mode. I felt unwelcome and left. read more

I really liked this nice little sandwich /coffee shop. The layout is more a self serve. You can decide between sandwich's, salads and more. I decided to get the chicken pesto sandwich . It was small but really good . I heated it up in the microwave and it was great. I also got their chai latte which I enjoyed a lot . But the highlight for me was the everything bagel pastry. It was so creamy and the filling was cream cheese based . Very delightful. I will say it was packed but it's New York so I guess it's expected . The servers were decent overall . read more

Title: a 20.00 meal in midtown manhattan, for the Rats! I used to come in and get a tuna or mozzarella and basil sandwich with a yogurt and chips. Today I disappointedly ordered a tuna sandwich on a bagette with cucumbers. It tasted like the tuna came straight from a can without a pinch of pepper or vinegar or something. It tasted like it came from an old can all I can taste was the smell of can and soggy bread. But dont worry I'll never go back. read more

Pret A Manger - Tuna sandwich in the trash. The best part of this meal was the over priced banana. - Sandwiches Near Me - New York, New York

Pret A Manger should be pretty standard across the board. And this one was. I'm not a fan of their coffee, but their ready eat food is decent in a pinch. read more

I stopped buying cold sandwiches (Tuna and Cucumber) from Pret in New York City because they started giving me GI discomfort (bloating etc.). A few weeks ago I was in London, UK and I had a number of times the same sandwiches from the London Pret stores without any GI issues. I compared their bread ingredients between USA and UK and, sure enough, their sandwich bread in the USA contains food enzymes (xylanase etc.). read more

For too long I skipped this restaurant. They serve with visible joy that customers appreciate. The spices are perfect. Costs won't shock and service is pleasant. Employees also handled everything well. All needs are addressed at this restaurant. read more

Although the staff is friendly, being served cold (I mean ice cold) hot chocolate is a downer. Happily upon request that was fixed. To use the restroom you use a code found on your receipt to unlock the door. Thee are two doors, but the code only opens the one on the right. There is no sign on the left door to advise it's not available so you can enter your code and nothing happens, leading you to go back to the counter to ask about it, at which point you'll be advised only the right restroom is available. read more

They have a Pret on the East Coast and had no idea they even existed until I visited London this year. I tried to many different food from this restaurant that I would say they have plenty of variety for every person to enjoy. I would say the thing I do enjoy the most is their ready packed sandwiches. If you aren't too hungry they even have half a sandwich packed and ready for you to take to your office. Had the chicken noodle soup which tasted pretty good and really filling. If you want a pretty good lunch option this is the place to be. But what saddens me is if you go a little bit later after lunch the options are way limited to what to decide from. Also the bathrooms at this location were some what insane at how not clean they were. read more

Had the wonderful hot chocolate and chocolate croissant. The hot chocolate is European style and is less sweet than the kind you get at most places, but is of excellent quality. While I prefer this type, my companion did not. The croissant was obviously made fresh this morning and the chocolate was still melted. My companion also got the guava lemonade and said it was delightful. There was a decent amount of seating. The customer service was perfunctory. Mostly handicap accessible, except for the doors. read more

I really get annoyed when I've ordered something online for pickup (I even downloaded the app) thinking I'm going to beat the line, and then I arrive and not only is there hardly anyone in the line, but they're also getting their orders before I am. That was unfortunately the case here, I eventually had to ask about my order and it was one of those situations where they had to hunt it down and ask me to confirm. However, the food and coffee were excellent. I especially love the croissants here, I feel like they are the closest you'll ever find to Europe, from a chain restaurant. Wish I had a Pret A Manger near me! read more

Stopped to get a breakfast and coffee for me and my wife. Guy at the counter was smiley and very rude. Seems like he had a lot of practice. I would not recommend a this location. No wonder next door to this place was super busy but this place was so slow. It's all about the service..... read more

My boyfriend bought me a tea from here when I was getting ready one morning and it tasted really good. I really like how they have honey in stock to sweeten beverages with. My peppermint tea tasted great and had the perfect level of sweetness after adding the honey to my drink. My boyfriend also ordered a coffee and be really enjoyed his drink. There were a few milk options and he said it was really good. Would we return? Absolutely!!! read more

My first visit to a Pret a Manger amid since I'm not all into organic food or sandwiches for that matter, but I admit the taste is quite good. Service is efficient and courteous. I rate this Pret a Manger four stars despite of the exorbitant prices the size of their sandwiches are minutely small as I was still quite hungry afterwards. For one measly BLT sandwich at $5.43 the exorbitant price highly compromise the size. The chicken with mozzarella sandwiches were all sold out as I love fresh mozzarella. Given the size of the sandwiches with the exorbitant price, I do not recommend Pret for dinner. This Pret a Manger does not have carry vitamin water but soda, which to my surprise and dismayal, organic implies "healthy." Carbonated drinks as soda certainly does not, in my opinion, fit the healthy category. Pret a Manger does not have any take-out menus or business cards to my dismay, I specifically requested a receipt to base this review on. This Pret indeed, as a previous Yelper noted, has limited seating and near the large red "LOVE" sign. read more

What's not to love about Pret? In fact, I have never met anyone in my life who has a single bad thing to say about Pret. There is nothing unique about this particular Pret; in fact it's quite similar to most other Prets. There's a decent amount of seating, but most people usually grab a meal to-go. My favorite item on their menu is the Mediterranean Mezze Salad - it's so healthy, vibrant, and colorful. It consists of falafel, butternut squash, Beet Hummus (a gorgeous fuchsia color!), pomegranate seeds, beets, a mesclun base, harissa chickpeas (adds a nice spicy kick), mint, dukkah spice, and turmeric dressing to top it off! Eating it honestly brightens my day :) In addition, this meal contains enough protein to fill you up for the rest of the afternoon, with the generous portion of falafel and chickpea. This Pret is located conveniently in Midtown next to a ton of office buildings, and the line moves quickly - perfect for an office lunch run. read more

I was there 15 minutes ago, 5 minutes before they close, I just grabbed my soup and and paid for it and i went to restroom and the was right 7:30pm and they were (2 people) super rude to me like they were begging me to leave already but I was just trying to check if they have soup toppers (cause i didn't have any!) and they guy said (nicer than the girl) they dont have any and the girl told me to LLLEEAAVVEEE. I mean, it wouldn't hurt anyone if you would've just said "we don't have any soup toppers left, sorry" nicely, I would just thank you and leave but now im pissed off and you ruined my day being super rude. Was it really necessary to be rude instead of being nice? That's the first time ever I give 1 star. And I do pretty much the same job as you and I'm definitely not like this, thank god. Now you may leave and have a nice day out work. read more

I went to Pret and I always use my PRET APP to pay. They charged me two times for the sandwich and I did not notice till I got home. I sent their customer service an email to return my money for the second charge. They decided to give me a $10 credit Towards my next purchase. The food that I was charged twice for was a falafel sandwich on soggy bread. In all fairness, the tuna sandwich was good and their chocolate cookies are really good. Update: they finally refunded the mistake they made. read more

For such high prices, you don't get what you pay for. All Pret A Manger restaurants have a wide selection of food, but not for those who want a hearty meal. Their sandwiches are egregiously overpriced for the quantity offered. They want you to order ample food and waste more money - this is why their servings are so tiny. The coffee is very good and the staff is ok - some seem less enthused to be working at the establishment. read more

Only one staff member. Forgot about our order and then had a terrible attitude after we asked about our order 15 minutes later. They need more staff to provide even the most basic experience. read more

Upon first perusal of a Pret A Manger store a few years back I said eep! Why would I pay that much for a sandwich I could make at home... Well cut to now and I haven't had the time to make these alleged sandwiches in my kitchen as of late. The reliably satisfying Roast Beef, Arugula and Parmesan never fails to fill me up and keep me steaming through a busy day at work. When this sandwich is all sold out, which it sometimes is (and they only make a certain amount per day) I enjoy the Ham & Cheese Baguette which is a nice rendition of the old staple. I do not recommend the awful Pretzel Bun sandwich of the season... this thing needs to hurry up and go already. Priced at the 9 inch baguette tier but trucking in just over 5 inches and untasty to boot. Adios Muchacho... On a recent trip to Pret pre lunch fare options I was swept up by the smell of fresh croissants being made in house. Having been out of milk for almost a week in my apartment I was hurting in the breakfast department. I asked the nice people what was the source of the lovely smell and they told me it was the Hot Ham & Cheese croissant that just came out a few minutes ago. I got it, and one of Prets infamous iced coffee's that my coworker has been raving about. It may not have been the most healthy breakfast ever, with the high quality ham and punchy cheese, and buttery buttery 'Qua-sant' But.... I felt like I was on vacation in a small French town eating local cafe fare... Delicious!! Great ingredients and fresh options that change constantly... I think Im a pret fan now =) read more

Pret A Manger - You're THE BEST! - Sandwiches Near Me - New York, New York

This location is nearby so I go there a lot. I tend to like the chain in general. The food is fresh and they mix up the menu items once in a while so I do not get bored. There is a new soup I want to try - Spanish Meatball. Sounds yummy. For gluten free options, go for the salads. I a big fan of the yogurts in the morning. The cup of fruit always looks good, but I think it is overpriced. Also - the multigrain muffin with flex seeds is a nice "pick me up" for the 4pm energy slump. read more

Pret a manager is a top notch experience. When you walk in you can see it is incredibly clean. All their products are on the right, and the options are immense. I was very impressed with the food, but i had to grab more than just the almond croissant to be satisfied. The five grain oatmeal was a splendid experience. Also, the tangerine juice was really good. Everything was made simply and tasted awesome. I would definitely go back again. Additionally, the price was right on everything! The almond croissant was right over 2 dollars, and same went for the juice. read more

We stayed at a hotel right around the corner so we visited often. Great place to grab a drink, pastry, sandwich or some fruit to head over to Bryant Park and enjoy the sights and sounds. Pastries were always fresh, day or night, sandwiches were all good and a solid choice. Prices were fair and employees were efficient and pleasant! All members in our party chose food and drinks from this spot as opposed to the Whole Foods across the street. Worth a stop in while out and about in the city. If nothing more to grab the fresh squeezed lemonade/fresh brewed ice tea mix. read more

I like pret-a manger a lot. The sandwiches are always fresh and they have hot soups available in a warming rack. This PAM is a little on the smaller side and there is not a lot of table room but despite this, there is still enough room. I had the egg salad sandwich on a whole wheat toast and a medium Moroccan lentil soup which was delicious. i would recommend and return. I hadn't heard of this place until I visited NYC. I'm from South Florida, so we don't have Pret A Manger. Due to the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure if I wanted to waste my time and money trying this place, but one morning while visiting, I wanted a quick breakfast, so my daughter and I tried it. I was pleasantly surprised! Their lattes were very good. And although their food appears to be prepackaged, it was still very good. I recommend this place if you want a break from Starbucks and need a coffee and quick breakfast! read more

This is the perfect stop after a long day of shopping With a decent selection to chose from, I couldn't help to notice the butternut ricotta Mac and cheese Has all kinds of Mac and cheese but this one stood out most It was very good. I really enjoyed it The size is pretty filling and the price is right Really enjoyed it and will have to stop by again to try something else ...The wraps looked pretty inviting Worth stopping by for sure ! read more

The bottom line with Pret: as the name implies the food is ready to eat. There food is very good, reasonably priced, and extremely close to where I work. They also list critical nutrition information such as sodium and calories, which help me make better decisions. In that regard, unlike other establishments they actually have choices that are low sodium or lower in calories that are also tasty. Therefore, you don't just sit there feeling bad about the incredible number of calories you're going to consume simply by eating there. Finally, the food is very fresh and the staff are extremely nice and accommodating. Definitely swing by if you need a quick meal and you want to make sure you're not blowing your food budget ($$$ or calories) on sub par food. read more

On a trip to New York, we were going to try this for breakfast and brought our food up to the counter to pay. At first the girl behind the counter ignored us but after awhile that got awkward so she called for another employee to help. She yelled to him.--"There's a customer, I can't be helping them because I'm going to be off soon. Come up here." Really? He came up not really knowing what to do, he'd been sweeping up and evidently didn't serve customers. Awkward but we still wanted to buy our breakfast food. We said all the coffee was gone and asked him if there was any freshly brewed. But he didn't know about the coffee and called for someone in back. By now it was clear that Pret A Manger doesn't train their employees--customer service is not important. We gave up and left, then stopped at a nearby bakery, and what a difference. They greeted us warmly and were glad to see us. That's the way it should be. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location. read more

I've only ever seen Pret in Europe, I'm not sure they have these on the west coast. So I was beyond excited when I saw them all over NY. Not as good as I remember hence 4/5 instead of 5/5 but the food was fresh, tasty, fast and the employees were very friendly. read more

The smell of coffee drew me into Pret A Manger while walking by. Then there were the cookies! I only go here when I'm absolutely starved and I have no time to walk around and find something to eat. I used to go here for lunch everyday since it was right below my building but I ended up spending $70 a week (give or take a few dollars-- depends on how hungry I was)! That's ridiculous. That's NY. If you're rich though, and want healthy fast food-- this is your place. For breakfast, I usually opt for a yogurt (the plain yogurt, with honey and granola) and an organic egg salad with bacon on a baguette. It sounds good, right? The baguette is great-- until you cut the roof of your mouth on the bread.. but I always do that. I'm assuming I'm not the only one. For lunch, I usually opt for a sandwich and a soup (depends on what's available) or sushi. The food is uber-fresh, so you can trust what you're eating.. It's just the price! read more

Well, I'd be lying if I said I'm not a fan. But then, is it even possible to go wrong if you are that generous with avocadoes and pine-nuts? Nah, I don't think so. My favourite sandwich? Avocado Grana Padana Parmegiano - parmesan, avocado, toasted pine nuts, arugula, basil , tomato, salt, pepper. I could eat this everyday. Oh wait a minute, I do. Among the soups, the moroccan lentil is soup is hearty (goes great with the bread!) and the hungarian mushroom soup is so nice and creamy that it makes me wonder if they're not lying about the calorie content on that one. Yes and they have great hot chocolate, and beware of walking into the store when they've just baked a fresh batch of cookies, you may end up buying one. Big negative - the falafel wrap in the NY pret stores! It's dry and terrible. Doesn't taste 'just made' at all. Funnily enough, the blueberry pot as well as the falafel wrap tastes yummier in the UK pret stores. Hmm.... read more
