I called in PRET A Manger late in the evening, hoping to get some food to take back to my hotel nearby, and this being one of the only "quick and go" places for soup being open. I decided to call in and take a look at their soups, with this being one of the main things PRET does, alongside sandwiches and coffee.
They didn't have a lot of soup left, with only the Cream of chicken left, I asked if it was gluten free, and the staff seemed good getting the book out straight away, and I found out that it was. If I remember correctly it was a little pricey and just over £3, which I don't normally mind paying for at EAT for example where the soup tends to be good quality, but I didn't find that here.
The soup wasn't very nice, it was hot which was good for it being so late, but the soup just didn't taste good quality, with the chicken and other vegetables inside being quite hard, chewy and simply not very nice, and because it was filled with them, I just had to stop eating my soup.
This is quite a nice branch, but I have seen other nicer stores in London, and they is quite a lot of coffee shops, including PRET, Cafe Concerto, Starbucks, Costa and EAT so they is strong , competition, but the location here is good, being quite close to Green Park station, and located on Piccadilly, but still due to the soup being expensive and not very nice, I can't give any more than 2 stars, the store gives me some sort of good vibe, which is the reason why I feel it doesn't deserve just one, and it would be unfair to give one due to the time I have visited. read more
