They have their own private parking outside the surgery and so everything is easy and convenient. This is a wonderful vetinary practice and I cannot recommend highly enough…read more Not only have they been consistently good with my pet rats (which a lot of vets do not particularly enjoy treating as they have a lack of experience with them) but they were always exceptionally good with my last cat. She was a rescue cat who had a lot of health problems and they treated her beautifully. At the end of her life she developed kidney failure and we were given the option of euthanising her. I asked if there was any chance of keeping her alive for longer and the vet told me that they could keep her going a few more days but that if it were her own cat, she would put to sleep as the pain and discomfort was so intense that my cat would have no quality of life left. Bearing in mind that the practice could easily have made another £500 for keeping my cat alive for an extra few days, I was incredibly pleased that they chose not to go down this route but instead made the whole process so easy and calming - we really couldn't have asked for a better experience, considering the circumstances. Wonderful vets, wonderful reception staff and a lovely calm, clean environment. Defintiely recommended to all!

You would think that your pet is the most lovable cat/dog/rabbit etc they have met. As with any vet the food is expensive, and I used the dry food which they recommended for a long while. I am not suggesting that vets do this maliciously, but it sometimes feels like this.

Our local vets is the Springfield practice in Darwen, we have taken our kitten there a few times…read moresince he was born. Pickle needed to be neutered and they refer animals to the Redlam practice. The staff are very friendly and seem to make a fuss of your pet, which is always nice to see, it gives you the sense of feeling that your pet is in the best possible care. Along with the neutering, we also got him micro-chipped and got them to trim his very sharp and deadly claws. He was all done and set to go within five hours, when we returned, the nurse took us in to a room and explained what they had done and how to care for him, then they brought Pickle in and we were off. The staff are great, they are friendly and understanding, nothing is too much trouble for them and they don't mind you ringing to see how your pet is. I think they threw the claw-trimming in for free, as the bill came to less than we thought. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone, if you take your pet to a vet where you're not 100% happy, then give these people a try.

We thought our cat was going to die he was thin, weak, not eating or going to the toilet, within two weeks he was much better and now a year later he is as fit as ever. I took my 12 year old collie x Chico to Wendy at King's Road Vets as he had been off his food (very…read moreserious for him!) and extremely 'wobbly' and disorientated over the previous 12 hours. By the time I took him to the vets I was convinced that Chico had suffered a stroke and there was no recovering from this. Wendy and her team (I think Helen and Natalie were the staff on duty) could not have been more reassuring and professional. Whilst explaining everything in english (rather than medical words I can't understand) they continued to reassure Chico & calm him despite his obvious distress. I was talked through every procedure that was carried out (blood tests, urine tests and x-rays which they even showed me)and also had the costs explained to me in advance so that there were no nasty surprises at the end of his treatment. Wendy and her team were very thorough & were so patient with me during my many phonecalls asking how my boy was doing! He's back home now, and although I don't know how much longer he'll be with me, I'm confident he's in good hands and will never take him to any other vet. I've just registered both my other dogs with King's Road too. Highly recommend them. In short they really do deliver what they promise. My boy was treated with absolute respect and care, and I was kept informed at every stage.

On holiday from America, my husband and I found a tiny naked bird, eyes still shut and just a few…read moretufts of feather on, struggling on our cottage walkway. I picked it up and searched in vain for a nest. Finally tucked it into a tea towel and looked up local vets. Found Archway but it was closed for bank holiday, so I called the emergency number and left a message, fully aware that the vet may not return a nutty call to a US mobile at 5 on bank holiday about a bird. Ten minutes later he called and said he would be there within 15 minutes. Doctor checked my sad find and explained that it was much too small to survive but he would euthanize it to keep it from suffering. I apologized for calling him on his holiday and he was so kind about it. I tried to pay but he said they don't charge for wildlife calls. He was sincere and compassionate and professional. I'm glad I met him even though I'm sad for the poor bird who never got to live and sorry I shortened such a nice man's holiday.

My dog Rosie had cancer for about a month in her bladder unbeknownst to us til we felt a strange lump, they managed to remove only some of it as it was so deep set, the vet did warn us that it may come back at some point. Unfortunately it came back a year later with full force, there was nothing they could do other than put her down due to her constant high temperature, her constant vomiting, incontinence and on and off appetite. We were mentally preparing for the day for a week since we got the call and a couple of days before she was due to be put down, we enquired if it's possible to put her down in her own home where she's comfortable as she doesn't like the vets, and to our surprise they had the nerve to say "well come round to fit the cannula in and then drive her to the vets to FINISH HER OFF". I was absolutely disgusted by them and thankfully found another company used previously by a family friend who came round to our home and put her down with respect and dignity We now have a puppy called Angel who we decided to never let her step foot into Kingsway out of respect for Rosie, instead we've signed her to Ashlands which are amazing and so sympathetic to both the animals and their owners.

We set of but unfortunately Gus our budgie passed away on route. On arrival at Skipton I phoned and the vet answered who was very supportive and asked if there was anything they could do. The reason why I gave 5 stars is that Kingsway were able to give us such a quick appointment even though we had not been before or registered and also they were so supportive also a few days later we received a lovely ...with sympathy...card from the vet and all the team at Kingsway .Being short of staff they still found time to send a card...which touched us.
