Desperate to find someone who makes incredibly high quality and real hair wigs was paramount. Thankfully, I knew to look in the Five Towns area and read other reviews for Royal Crown Wigs Luxury Salon. The reviews are accurate, and I am beyond elated with the most gorgeous, most natural looking real hair wig that could easily be my own hair. The color is absolutely a perfect match and Tammy styled it so perfectly, adding more hair to the twin peak line. My mother and all my friends were anxiously awaiting for me to send pictures and FaceTime then, and not one person could even tell it isn't my real hair, except now it is a full head of hair. I highly recommend Tammy wholeheartedly and cannot say enough positive things about her and her professionalism and attention to detail.

My own hair was a major problem and they worked miracles! The first time they just tried a bunch of wigs on me until I did pick one. Then they measured my head for the size of the wig. Maybe the owner will take your calls and not charge you more than double the price . Don't go there if this is a temporary situation, i.e. medical treatment, and want to be treated shabbily. Look in Malverne, NY for better and affordable services, and a nice person. Wildly overpriced wig for a person who was at the time in treatment for leukemia and was unfamiliar with sheitels. Charged $5k for a piece that was appraised in another orthodox community as not being worth more than $2k. Wig had gaping areas that were missing hair under exterior layers. When it was finally brought back in, the owner agreed to fill in with hair, and intended to charge the customer more for that service. Not a nice person.

As far as beauty supply stores go, I love this one as it's always well-stocked. It's not unlike…read morethe many Korean-owned BSS you can find in Your Neighborhood, USA. Either one of the elderly owners are usually at the register on any given day. They are cordial, but not especially friendly. Their reserved demeanor could also be because of the language barrier. A younger woman who I'll assume is their daughter/niece/granddaughter sometimes works there, and she's quite friendly and helpful. The store is large, but the aisles are a little cramped because they have so much inventory. There's usually at least two guys who work on the sales floor. They kinda watch what's going on throughout the aisles, and they're always quick to help if you even look over in their direction in confusion. They're very courteous and polite. One thing I'd like to point out is that the many times I've been in this store, I've not had to deal with "profiling". It could be because of the two guys that stand by, or maybe they have good cameras. But I've spent up to two hours in this store, sometimes wandering aimlessly through the aisles to try and look at every single piece of merchandise. I notice that patrons of color can sometimes have the experience of feeling "harassed" in beauty supply shops and the like, but not here. The store is bursting with salon supplies, appliances, waxing supplies, skincare items, styling gels, pharmacy items, cosmetics, all kinds of shampoos & conditioners, hair dyes, relaxers, accessories...anything you can think of, they have it at comparable prices. I'm a natural girl, so I like to buy aloe vera gel, natural soaps and conditioners, which they have plenty of. Their higher end products are next to the register. They have a large hair inventory: wigs, human hair pieces, synthetic hair. I believe the trend is to charge $1 now for trying on the wigs, but I can't remember if they do that here. One complaint I have is that they don't carry afro-textured human hair for braiding, but that was as of last year--I'll amend my review to see if they do now. I wish I could give this store 2.5 dollar signs, as it's very easy to spend $20+ if you're not careful. I do like coming to this shop because I've *never* not been able to find what I need here. And I also like that the setup is rather busy: it's a heaven (or hell) for a product junkie like me!

I was looking for a hairstylist that could help and a friend told me that Danielle from Luxurious Hair is a Top Artist/stylist for Nioxin that does great work and to check out her website. So I checked her website out (Website looks good -check) I called her (picked up and super sweet and responsive on phone-check, ) and made an appointment for my mom. When we got to her private salon, we were immediately offered water and snacks (love those chocolate chip cookies, two kinds of chocolate in them?!- check) then Danielle immediately educated my mother on her hair, on the right products to use along with new styling tips so she can do it at home herself (caring, took her time, we were not rushed-double check and she was cute so ok another check). My moms hair looks awesome (too bad she's my mom) and is now going back for a one on one blow dry lesson (I thought women were born knowing how to blow dry?) and again next month for an updo (just learned that word) for my cousins wedding. Danielle has great customer service and she was cute so yeah a check.. Afterwards she now wants to do extensions after seeing Danielle's portfolio of clients and how natural it looks (I saw before and afters, pretty cool- I didn't even know women wear extensions....check for extensions and women who get away with it.. ) Danielle even told my mom that she can talk to some of her clients for their honest feedback. I would highly recommend her. She is experienced, honest, very affordable for the type of work she does (triple checkers) and cares about her work and clients. Cool experience and Mom is so happy and loves her hair so that's more checks than I can give...
