I walked in, we chatted for a few minutes and I showed her a pic of how I normally wear my hair. The first wig she put on and I looked just like myself. it was astonishing!! She cares about her customers, and wants them to feel great when they walk out the door. She also gave me more information, about when my hair would start falling out, than anyone else had. Because of her I was not blindsided when it started. I was expecting it. She helped me fill out the paperwork for my insurance company too so I could get reimbursed ASAP! After wearing the wig for the first time, the hair was a little long around my face. I went back to Cathy and she cut more bangs into the wig and framed my face. it is now perfection. I pull in into a barrette, which is what I did with my own hair and even my husband and son forget I have no hair (for now:)) I will be making another appointment for a shorter wig for when my hair starts growing again so I can transition from long wig to short wig to short hair! At 29 years old you never imagine you'd be losing your hair and needing a wig but she made the process effortless. Right now due to COVID it's by appointment only which is great. You can feel safe while shopping even when immunocompromised. She was knowledgeable in her craft and made sure I got exactly what I wanted in the style and color that I wanted. My mom's hair is very important to her (as with many women) - blonde and silky. The thought of losing it during treatment and wearing a wig was unbearable for her. Jonathan made the experience for her fun. And the wig- WOW. The wig speaks for itself. Multiple times after her hair was gone and my mom was sporting her wig, doctors and nurses would ask, "...and the hairloss? Have you noticed that happening yet?" They were wide-eyed and speechless when my mom declared "this is a wig!" One nurse even said, "I've been doing this for a long time and can honestly say that's the best wig I have seen." Hair supply stores are few and far between, a car is needed to get to them, however every single time I leave Happy Beauty Supply I am satisfied. They get a lot of my money and they make you feel appreciated as a customer. There is always an older gentleman there (I believe he is the owner) and a young lady, both are very helpful and know their products and their location very well in the store. There is a decent selection of different types of hair for weaves and crotchet, there are plenty of wigs to choose from and other necessities such as hair pins and eyeliner, . The store is well stocked and owner/salesperson is very nice. You don't feel like you are being trailed along the store, they give you room to browse and if you need assistance they are willing and ready. My favorite and only beauty supply store I'll visit in LI.
