With a busy work life and sheltering during the pandemic, I finally made an effort to get an eye test and shop for glasses. I hadn't worn glasses for about 10 years after having laser eye surgery. My key goal was to get an eye test and glasses on the same day. I did a quick search on the internet and saw several 5 star ratings for Prestige Optical on Yelp. I phoned the store and spoke to a pleasant staff member, Francesca about a few things before deciding to visit them. When I arrived at the store I was greeted by Sara almost immediately. She told me there were a couple of people ahead of me waiting for eye exams but in the meantime she could help me find frames and gave me a thorough explanation of the types of lenses I might require, different options available, and the prices. I was surprised that the store was quite busy and spoke with a couple of repeat customers who also spoke highly of the staff and management at Prestige Optical. Paul, the manager gave me my sight test. Paul was very thorough, extremely patient, helped me get a good understanding of the problems with my vision, and which type of prescription would be best suited to help my sight. So many stores these days just push customers through like cattle but I can honestly tell you that this team of professionals make you feel comfortable and important. I ended up purchasing two pairs of glasses for different purposes and Paul was willing to negotiate on the price to help me a bit when I learned I needed more than one pair of glasses. The lenses I required are going to take about 10 days to receive but in the meantime they loaned me a pair of reading glasses. Sara told me she has been in the optometry business for 30 years and her explanations, methodical measuring, and double checking demonstrated to me that she certainly knows how to ensure you are getting a superior and properly set-up product. I rarely take the time to write reviews for a business but their extraordinary team deserve recognition. I wasn't completely happy with glasses I'd bought in the past from big chain and on-line stores, so I thought I'd try a boutique optical store. I wanted to be a somewhat educated consumer so I researched lens and frame types and sizing before shopping. Armed with this knowledge I went to over a half dozen stores asking questions about size of frames, brand of lenses, and their relevant merits, and received some reponses that were clearly not right. The first 5 stores tried to sell me frames that they had in stock saying that they were "close enough" in size for me. Close maybe, but definitely not optimal. They also all tried to sell me the highest index (thinnest and most expensive) lenses made, saying they would provide the best vision. They all recommended only one of the major brand of lenses (curiously, each had a different choice) and couldn't tell me the relative merits of the other brands. I finally went to Prestige Optical. Jaspreet (Paul) was by far the most knowledgeable of all the opticians I interviewed. After measuring me for frames and reviewing my prescription he said that the most expensive lenses were overkill for me and a complete waste of money given the relatively low power of my prescription. He also explained clearly and simply the relevant benefits of the different brands of lenses. He had frames in stock that fit "pretty well" but said that it would be better to order in other ones that would be perfect. Adjusting frames can be a bit of a hit and miss process and I went to see him a couple of times to fine tune the fitting. He could not have been more helpful, polite, friendly and professional. I ended up buying three pairs of glasses from him that fit and feel perfect. You simply can't get that type of service from large box stores or from on-line sellers - or even from most boutique optical stores. He is also a very pleasant man who obviously is devoted to doing the best he possibly can for his clients. An unqualified thumbs up to Jaspreet and Prestige. read more

Prestige optical is the best optical and glasses store ive ever been to in my life. And I've been to stores in HK to New York. Not only was the eye exam through, the store owner was so patient with me in terms of my choosing glasses frames during the time of covid lol. He even called me to let me know that the lenses manufacturer had a slight delay, and offered to deliver the glasses to my apartment. Their store even offered to install other lenses so that I could get my glasses quicker if I needed them. I told them it's fine, I would just pick up after a week at the store. When I arrived to pick them up, the store owner gave me a $15 Starbucks card as a gift and apology for delaying the glasses by a week. Honestly it was such a kind gesture and I wish nothing but the best for this store and owner, employees - they were all so humble, nice and kind. Meeting such nice people really restores your faith in humanity. PS: I accidentally sat on my glasses, after wearing them for just less than a week - I called and went into the store to get the frames fixed. One of the legs had fallen off of the glasses frame. He helped me fix it in record time and my glasses look brand new again! read more

I don't often write reviews, but Paul provided such outstanding service that I felt morally obligated to let the rest of the world know about this incredible optical store. I initially went to Prestige Optical because they had the best prices on a pair of frames that I wanted. I quickly found out that they also provided the best service I've ever had from an optometrist. The frames that I purchased ended up being defective. Paul immediately made it right by ordering a new pair of frames to replace them and on top of that picked them up and dropped them off at my home because I had recently had a knee surgery. You shouldn't go to Prestige Optical because they have the best prices or a great selection of frames. You should go there because he will provide the best customer service and care more than anybody else. It is for that reason I give Paul and the rest of the Prestige Optical team my absolute highest recommendations. read more

I strongly recommend Prestige Optical. I have never received such incredible service, care and consideration from a business, especially Paul, as I received from Prestige Optical. I took a new prescription, from another source, into Prestige Optical to have the new lenses made. When the lenses came back from the manufacturer, I discovered that the prescription wasn't right. It didn't work. Paul went out-of-his way and spent a great deal of his time with me to make sure that I had the correct prescription. He gave me a very thorough, time-consuming eye exam which finally resulted in the correct prescription. He put a 'rush' on the order so that I would have the new lenses in time for my trip and made sure that I got them with days to spare. Thank you, Paul, for all your help and kindness. I can not recommend Prestige highly enough. I broke my glasses I purchased in the States. Googled optometrists in the city and picked Prestige from its reviews. I'm so thankful I did. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Paul was fantastic, his eye exam the most thorough I have ever experienced. He reassured me the replacement progressive lenses he was replacing would be much more favourable for my vision. I apprehensively collected the glasses put them on my nose, they fitted like a glove and for the first time in years I could see clearly, turns out those expensive lenses were worth every cent and more. If you are getting progressive lenses invest in the best quality you can afford. I certainly can't speak highly enough of Prestige and the glasses they provided me with. I've been to several optical stores such as LensCrafters and always felt like it was overpriced and the service was mediocre. But here at prestige optical I felt well taken care of and the quality of the lenses was exceptional. He caters to all age groups and demographics which is another asset. I would give a higher review if there was one. With exceptional knowledge, and incomparable service, my eye sight is well supported at Prestige Optical. The eye exam I was given by the optometrist at Prestige Optical indicated that I needed to see my eye doctor. I have done so and am getting treatments offered by the ophthalmologist. Also, I misplaced my glasses. I had a new pair that fit really well and had excellent lenses in a couple of hours Prestige Optical has helped by cooperating with other medical practitioners to protect this crucial sense, my vision. Best optician in Vancouver in my opinion! The selection of glasses is huge. I can be quite picky and I have a "bad" habit of always optimising to get the best, so I must have tried over 25 different glasses over 3 visits. The optician, Paul, is gifted with an in-depth knowledge of everything vision. We found the most comfortable, aesthetically fitting and enjoyable frame I have owned in 20 years. It turned out to be the frameless type. Despite my -3.75 prescription, Paul leveraged different lense technologies to make the thinnest and lightest lenses I have ever worn. Ordered prescription inserts for ski goggles in the evening, they emailed the next morning to request the prescription and I had them at my door in Ontario in a few days.
