Manly Honda - Choosing a new Civic hybrid at Manly.

Manly Honda

Jacob is the car salesman that every buyer dreams of. He is honest, a fantastic communicator,…read moredown-to-earth, transparent, detail-oriented, patient and helpful. Oh and did I mention honest? Sadly not a given in that business. Jacob helped guide us to make a decision between a CR-V Sport-L and Sport Touring, and worked every angle to get us the best deal possible. He never put any pressure on us and even came in on his day off to help work with my husband's busy work schedule. He tirelessly answered every question I had, and made sure we had all the info we needed to make the right decision. I loved working with Jacob and I would never want to work with anyone else to buy a Honda. We live in Novato and our closest dealerships are Marin and Petaluma, but we didn't mind the extra drive up to Santa Rosa in order to have the car buying experience every buyer should be lucky enough to experience. Thank you Jacob, you are a gem, I appreciate you taking all the stress out of this experience for us and being the consummate professional. We love our new car!

BUYER BEWARE -- My Experience at Manly…read more Unfortunately, my experience with the sales team and management at Manly was terrible. Despite seeing negative reviews online, I decided to give them a chance anyway. Big mistake. During our visit, our trade-in vehicle was damaged during a test drive. Afterward, warning lights and an alarm/siren were going off. When we asked for help addressing what had happened, instead of helping us resolve the situation, we were told to leave the property. What made the experience even more frustrating was that the people involved would not provide us with their names, business cards, or contact information when we asked. I ultimately picked up the salesperson's business card from his desk, which he did not want me to take. I will be posting a video showing what happened so people can watch it and decide for themselves. Based solely on my personal experience and opinion: Buyer beware. I would not recommend Manly. Do not try them--you will not like them. -- Nitrous Mike

Hansel Subaru - Apple Car Play is missing!

I take my Subaru to Hansel for service, and the experience has been consistently good. The service…read morecounter team is friendly every time. It feels like they actually know how to deal with customers, not just cars. What sets them apart is how they communicate. They send videos showing what they're doing and what they've found, so I can see the issue myself instead of just taking someone's word for it, even if I don't really understand what they're showing me. They also make the logistics easy. They'll give me a ride home, then book a free Uber to bring me back when the car is ready. It's a small thing that saves a real chunk of my day. One small note: I do sometimes feel a bit upsold on things like a cabin filter. To be fair, they've taken good care of my car, and I'm sure they're being thorough. It might help to note which items are urgent and which can wait until the next visit, so customers can plan around them. I'd rather hear "this can wait" than wonder. Overall, I'm happy to keep coming back. Friendly people, clear communication, and real convenience.

If you are looking to buy a new Subaru, I can highly recommend Andre in sales. He is very patient,…read moreand will help you find exactly what you are looking for. If you have any issues with the purchase before or after it is made, talk to sales manager John Bruno, and he will do everything he can to fix things. Both Andre and John are the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met in the car sales business. I initially got off to a rough start with the sales department when I was talked into a used car even though I asked for a new one. That was not a great experience, and I recommend sticking with new cars. Thankfully though, I met with John about it, and he handed me over to Andre to find a new car that I love. Regarding the service department, I took my old 2010 Outback here, and I greatly appreciate the videos they take to show you exactly what the problems are. My husband really likes service rep Ivan. We will be taking our new Subaru here for service. Our only issue with service has been that apparently the inspections they do with oil services are not the same as the ones they do with longer services, even though they both show a video from under the car. So before spending money on an older car for a lot of little things, make sure and get a comprehensive inspection so you can get a total for everything that needs to be replaced before deciding to spend money on repairs. It's also a good idea to do this before your warrantee runs out. I learned that Subarus like my 2010 Outback can go for 16 years with no problems, and then have everything wear out at once.

I also got internet bids from KBB, Carvana, Driveway and CarMax and Car Max offered the most. We ignored those offers though as we thought the car was worth at least $900 more than the Car Max offer based on KBB's private seller values. We waited until it became apparent it wasn't going to sell in the old tried and true way but the original Car Max offer had expired so I renewed it. They came back with a new internet offer that was $100 more than we were asking locally and $1000 more, oddly, than their first offer. We went down there expecting them to drop the offer based on their very rudimentary inspection. The did not an offered the original amount which we accpeted. All in all a great process and result; highly recommended.

Bought daughter a Honda that she LOVES…read more The condition of the vehicle is excellent. The entire experience was straightforward, none of this time wasting back and forth stuff a lot of dealerships do. We requested this specific vehicle from a location in SoCal. It was worth paying for it because again, my daughter loves her car. Why 1 star? In the vehicle image gallery they show 2 key fobs. When we made the purchase? They only had one and told some lame story the place the car came from has the other key in their lockbox. What? We left with ONE key fob which is really inconvenient and very stupid. Now we have to go to the Honda dealership to purchase a second key. This kind of loose end nonsense bodes poorly for their customer service as they've created an unnecessary imposition on a customer that just handed over a substantial amount of cash. This is why I will never leave Peter Pan BMW and will continue to drive BMWs as I have for the last 25 years. I expect consistent high level customer service without being inconvenienced as it should be wherever one purchases a big ticket item, like a car. One star. Do better. By a lot.
