The overall experience was great! The staff were friendly and efficient. The salon was clean and super cute! My hair reverted back to frizzy about an hour or so upon leaving. Good experience and results, but way too overpriced. How does a silk press with tip, trim, and deep conditioning, AND an (alleged) 10% discount total $120?! Make it make sense Lord! The math ain't mathin' right! I've gone to this location of Pressed Roots twice, and the Dallas Trinity Groves location once. Every time, I've been pleased with how my hair looked afterward, but every time I've felt like I overspent. They charge tip PLUS a an $18 fee for only God knows why? I know we're all facing inflation, but jeez louise! Is this place cute and very IG worthy? Yes. Do you get a complimentary mimosa or Rose'? Well, you're paying for it but yes. Will you be seen by your stylist promptly, and is your stylist only working with you and not doing multiple people all at once? Yes, which is definitely a plus and advantage to going to Pressed Roots for sure. Will you get splashed in the face by water at the sink while your stylist is talking to her coworkers? Absolutely! This happened on Tuesday when I came in. Can this happen anywhere? Definitely, so I get it, but still. Again, why is this place so high???? tried pressed roots for the first time on yesterday and I was pleasantly pleased with the level of service and professionalism. It was easy to schedule an appointment online. A deposit is required. Once I arrived, I was greeted and my hair stylist started within minutes of me walking through the door. I was offered a complimentary drink and allowed to do videos or pics if I wanted. The pricing was reasonable. Stylist was nice. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back. When I arrived I was welcomed, and checked in. The wait was longer then expected but my stylist was very attentive and great personality. She explained the wait and she made sure I was comfortable. She offered some extra services but was respectful when I declined them. I loved the service! Everyone was friendly and the vibe was fun and inviting. The establishment was clean and I will be back! My stylist was Miyah and I will request her next time. However, all the stylist knew their stuff and did a great job, the women were looking fabulous. My only negative comment is that I read through the charges and I didn't see mention of the "service fee." I looked over my email and again I didn't see it. I would have tipped my stylist and I had a bigger tip in cash to give her then service fee which is actually gratuity. It does say cashless however that was meant for her so it shouldn't have mattered. Unless they split between stylist, which isn't clear. It would have cost me an around an additional 40 had I went ahead and gave my cash tip. So anyway, that OVERALL isn't really a problem and they provide what is offered! They have water, mimosas & green juice. My wait wasn't that long at all & the receptionist kept checking on me. Quoya was my stylist and she was amazing! I got a deep condition, a trim, & steam treatment. I probably was in and out in about 2 hours. Let me start by saying I'm a VIP member of this location and have been for a few months, going weekly. The service here largely depends on the stylist you're assigned to. I've had great service and great stylists in the past. However, my experience today was very disappointing. The wash was lackluster and I honestly not sure if all shampoo/conditioner were properly rinsed. The stylist I had went over my hair multiple times with heat and used a lot of oil and sprays. I left with my hair looking like a blowout rather than a silk press. I have dense, fine hair, which doesn't require much heat or extra manipulation. My hair is cut in a bob hair style. I requested straight- barely a bump and a middle part. The middle part is the only thing I can say I left with. I've never had worse results. Needles to say I'm headed home to redo my hair for an event tonight. Update- the salon reached out to rectify the situation with a previous stylist that was used before with great results. read more

I'm pretty sure this is so that your stylist knows what products to use on your hair type, what's best when washing and styling, things of that nature. And I appreciate that. The smell reminds me of when my mom and grandma use to hot comb and curl my hair when I was younger. Very nostalgic. They offer you water, mimosas, rose, champagne (I think that's all lol), basically the options are there for you, which is awesome! I didn't wait long at all. My stylist was great, very attentive. What really got me hooked, she didn't wash my hair once, not twice, but three times. And she WASHED my hair! Once I told her I wasn't tender-headed, oh she didn't hold back and honestly, I think I almost fell asleep in the chair lol. I also appreciated that she took the time to detangle my hair, all of it, and I have a lot of hair. That's so important with natural hair!
