The sign on the front lawn shows TAWA and the old San Gabriel Square sign at the Valley Blvd entrance has already been overshadowed. They just haven't torn it down yet. Every spot used to be occupied with a few restaurants worth waiting in line for. Too sad to see this go and be called something else. There are more businesses coming in.

I've been a non-resident visitor of the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) area for over 40+ years now LOL…read more San Gabriel Square is no stranger to me. This is one of the largest if not the largest shopping center in SGV unless I've missed an even much larger one. Tons of free parking. They have underground parking, too. There is a Tesla charging station area. Just be careful when entering on the side where the Tesla stations are located because it gets really crowded and tight over there. There are 4 floors of businesses. First and second floors are where you'll find most of the restaurants and food/drink shops. Fifth floor only has the Five Star restaurant. Non-food businesses are everywhere else. There are elevators to get to the 2nd floor and upward. Oddly enough, I really don't frequently visit this shopping center, but I have been here primarily for Wushiland Boba, sometimes for 99 Ranch, other times for Vege Valley in the past (they have moved to a new location), and a few times for Five Star restaurant. I was here last weekend for Wushiland of course. I saw a COMING SOON sign with the below biz(es). I may be coming here more often with all the new food/drink joints arriving soon LOL. Either after a day hang out with friends after work or after a concert, so some of the other businesses have closed already, but at least the eateries are still open. Plenty of parking when we were here. There's a McDonald's that's popping, Bay Island Cafe (opened decently late and pretty cheap, delicious food), R&B Tea House which is a middling franchise, but has a lot of crane games and works if you just want to hang out, Sam Woo BBQ, Zhangliang Malatang, and Mr. Dragon Noodle House (usually closed or getting ready to close by the time I'm there). There's a fountain plaza area there, but it wasn't working during my visits. It's located in a corner so it might be a bit tricky getting out, but again, I've gone only at night so no big deal.

It is anchored by McDonald's, Sam Woo Restaurant, and Lucky Market. There are also some small boutique shops and other services for nails, spa, mail, lending, etc. Most recently added biz are R&B Teahouse and a massage place. I have two gripes about this plaza. One is the limited parking. For the number of businesses, I feel there should be more parking. The last time I was here, I had to drive out of the plaza, make a detour, and drive back in. Another is that it's located on a corner of two main streets, Valley Blvd and Walnut Grove. It's best to exit on the Walnut Grove side. You may be waiting for a very long time if you try to exit on Valley Blvd. Good luck! Other than my two gripes, it's still a great plaza for dine-in at the restaurants and drink shops.

Absolutely no regard for human life here. I definitely recommend parking elsewhere and just walking…read moreover. The fact that there's so many businesses (nothing wrong with the businesses, they're great) and the fact that the parking pit in the basement is shared with the hotel, it's an absolute PvP zone. People are driving, backing up, parking randomly and doing things without looking and without regarding their surroundings. If you want a good jump scare this is the place to go. You enter from a busy street, and even when you're driving into the plaza, someone will just back up randomly. In the pit, it's not that much better too, with people driving well above a standard parking speed limit and fighting for spots. When you leave the pit, the cars on the upper layer have a stop sign, but it's of no use. People disregard it so they can turn out of the plaza ASAP so if you're coming out of the basement parking, be careful or else you're gonna get hit for sure. Of the entire time I was there, not a single car stopped for that stop sign. I just had to time myself getting out of there so I don't hit anyone and since it's going uphill, there's always a chance of your car sliding back and hitting someone behind you. Other than the parking horror, the plaza isn't bad. 3 floors of mixed businesses from shopping, medical services, and lots of food places (tsukemen, coffee, chicken sanwiches, a bakery, etc.).

I primarily come to this plaza to dine at or do take-out at Kim Tar Restaurant. There used to be a travel agency here that my Mom goes to, but unfortunately they are out of business now. If you're looking for one or more of these services, this plaza may be good to check out.

I also didn't know there is a second floor to the main building. My Mom and I frequent this plaza for 2 out of the 4 or 5 businesses that reside on ground floor... Fang-Huo Ginseng and Herbs and Sham Tseng BBQ. If you're looking for reasonably priced Chinese herbs, medicine, and snacks, Fang-Huo is the place for you... please keep in mind space is tight inside. If Cantonese foods is one of your preferred cuisines, Sham Tseng BBQ is the spot for comfortable dine-in or easy take-out. Seafood Place and Wen Hui Noodle Hours are also present. There may be one other restaurant next door to Fang-Huo, but not 100% sure. I'll have to look closer next time. It is a very tiny plaza at the corner of Garvey Ave and S Chandler Ave. Parking is very limited about 20+ spots. Entry to plaza by car should be from Chandler, but I've seen drivers enter from Garvey which is not the safest because there's a lot of traffic on that street. If you're lucky, you'll get a parking space. Otherwise, you may need to park on the street or at the nearby 99 Ranch shopping center and walk on over. I plan to return here and try the other two restaurants in the near future. Happy Eating!
