First thing's first, this place isn't two stars. The five star review is clearly an anomaly, and every other review is one star--for good reason. If I could give zero stars, I would. This food is so bad we had a debate as to whether or not it was safe to eat or to give away to the homeless. We are legitimately concerned about the safety of it. Four of us tried this together, and we instantly noticed the plastic taste on everything. You can smell it. It's in almost every bite. It's disgusting. There's something clearly wrong with this food. But let's start from the top. Every item you receive comes shrink wrapped in plastic, albeit a significant portion of our items had lost their seal and were filled with air by the time they arrived. A lot of our items seemed crunched. The writing on the packages in the pictures is ours because most items came unlabeled. It seems so amateur. And in some senses bizarre. It's almost as if everything was packaged by a two man shop out of someone's basement. A plastic-wrap package with a single layer of less than 10 green beans? Who would buy that? Sauce shrink wrapped in a to-go sauce cup as if it were from a restaurant... except it came with no lid so it was splattered everywhere. It's just strange. The portions are small, but it's very expensive. As you can see in our bill (check pictures), we spent $250. Shipping was an appalling $27. (Why on earth does it cost this much?!). One of my friends described the quantity of the food for the cost as "highway robbery." It seems like a rip off before you taste it, and it only gets worse from there. We heated up the broccoli and brussels sprouts in the wok, and we heated the rice on the stove as well. We first tried the broccoli, then the Blbrussels sprouts. All of us instantly noticed a plastic taste on the food--first bite. It was so bad it was hard to believe. We each went in for a second bite, and yep, confirmed--plastic taste again. Observations ranged from "I think this is probably bad for us" to "the vegetables taste like they were soaked in salt water." Next up was the steak. An extremely sub par cut of meat. Small, chuck meat sizes of beef. Tough. Chewy. Barely seasoned. Not yum. Not remotely worth the money. Next we tried the yucca fries l. This was the only item we tried that didn't taste strongly of chemicals. That said, it was dry and unseasoned. Flecks of black pepper husks were the only semblance of seasoning. Would not eat again. Lastly, we dug into the almond flour blueberry muffins. One bite evokes the feeling of eating a handful of Saltines without any water. They were so dry. (I soaked the pieces I ate in almond milk to help aid swallowing them). This was probably the only dish that all of us enjoyed the flavor of. If you take anything away from this review, it should be not to buy this food. Save yourself the disappointment. This was definitely one lesson learned. read more

This isn't worth the money. They required a minimum order of $65 and then that's before taxes and deliver. We ended up spending $85 in total for three chicken breasts, a small handful of broccoli, a pasta dish and a handful of ground beef. Everything comes in hard to open vacume sealed bags. The chicken was ok. The pasta was good, but consisted of several parts so it took a while. The broccoli was sub-par and the beef has yet to be eaten, but idk what they expected mentioned do with it. On the site it looked like a casserole meal. It's actually just ground beef and cheese. I liked the idea of having lunches delivered bc I hate making lunches for work. But it's way too cost prohibitive. At that cost I could eat out everyday and enjoy my food way more. read more

Initially I had left a 5-star review after my first order which was delivered as a gift for my 88 year old mother-in-law. Since then, I have received two orders of my own. Pros: Prepped is one of the few services that delivers meals which have already been prepared, rather the sending ingredients for the purchaser to cook. The menu changes weekly and offers paleo and low carb options. There is no subscription or membership required. The meals arrive well insulated and package. Customer service responds promptly. Cons: The photos of the meals depicted in their advertising, including on FB, are not of their food. While it's understandable that meals that have been vacuum sealed and shipped may appear somewhat differently upon receipt, these meals have never looked like what is depicted in the photos. I've provided one example in my comments of the General Tso's chicken, their photo and the reality of what showed up which was not even close. Most, if not all, meals have been the same including this week's enticing "bbq" that appeared in almost rib-shaped bites yet arrived as a pile of fine threads of absolute mush. In general, the texture of the food has been incredibly soft and mushy, much like nursing home or school cafeteria offerings. The flavor most often has been so subtle that it couldn't be tasted. What has contributed greatly to this now 1-star review is the company response to my complaint. When I initially contacted them to praise them for the delivery of the fit order, they were terrific. However, the response to two complaints has been vastly different. The first complaint was over the General's chicken, pictured in my comments. "We're passing your email around the office." Well, that's wonderful but after paying approximately $24 for something that was false advertising, I expected customer service to go a step farther. The second complaint was over this week's mush, advertised as cherry bbq. I received an outright nasty phone call by an employee by the name of "Jay." Jay talked more than he listened and it was like being on an infomercial for the Trump campaign. "Everyone says we're the best. 50 people told us that was the BEST General Tso's chicken they have ever had in their life. Our head chef is going to CRY when he hears what you've said about his cooking." Jay went from speaker phone entertainment to rather insulting with the "and then Karen Boyer is the only one complaining. Maybe you're used to deep fried food." etc etc Jay was also kind enough to state that they do not use an in-house photographer and these are stock images of food cooked somewhere other than Prepped. I'd like to know the name of that place and order from them! In regards to their social media campaign which led me to believe this was a service worth trying, they have actually BLOCKED me from commenting on anything on their FB page. I am only able to edit my previous review. Additionally, please look closely at their page, post and photo comments and likes - most of which are paid for by Prepped. This is a widely used but poor practice. Prepped seems to be tone deaf to their actual customers,and putting "Jay" out there is a good way to lose them. I was hoping to find a service through the end of May, 7 months of meals for two being delivered. For a small company, that's a lot of revenue. Wow what a letdown, basically a scam. Tiny plastic pouches that NASA beats. Tasteless buffalo pulled pork, had to add my own buffalo sauce. Bland sweet potato "something" was wrongly labeled as cauliflower Mac-n-cheese. Nope. Tiny pouch of what I think was Brussel sprouts only decent thing. Absurd cost and totally wasteful packaging. I had received a $250 gift card for Mother's Day. It ended up costing over $81 for shipping on 3 orders. Really! 1/3 of the card was for shipping. 1 order had 2 bags of dry ice, one order had 3 bags and another order had 4 bags, which weighed 3 times more than the food. How disappointing for the gift giver and the gift recipient. I would not use Prepped again due to the outrageous cost of shipping. WOW how many more meals I could of enjoyed. I sent a message and email and the only reply was they would look into it and get back to. Never happened. Customer service is lacking big time. Wow spent 3 to $400 each time we ordered from them the last time we spent $300 on the whole order and it arrived crushed and smashed inside and out I emailed the company and they have the attitude that something went wrong and it's not their fault it's either your fault or the Shipping companies fault so I sent them a picture included got the same response from them as in previous orders it's your fault or UPS they want to figure it out and never get back to you ever don't buy from them don't give them your credit card the food is made by rednecks so if they don't like you they're going to dance on your dinner most of the items did not taste good or they were so high in olive oil and sodium no way is the nutritional information correct do yourself a favor never do business with this company there are so many other good companies out there I should have looked at the reviews first before dealing with them and I was not surprised to see what I had found when I looked later if I could give them less than 1 * I would look at the picture I enclosed a $300 box of food that someone jumped on with both feet and smashed everything inside we emailed them and they did nothing about it basically the impression we got was that we had done this to our own food what a joke we're going back to home chef they are so much nicer and the food is so much better quality don't buy from these rednecks read more

Prepped Delivery has terrible customer service. I have ordered from them for 3 weeks. Each week they got it wrong, either the order did not have what it advertised, and all three times they advertised 2 day delivery air. Each time they sent it ground which took an extra day. Each time I brought it to their attention and apologized and promised the record and technical issue had been fixed and even gave me $40 credit for future use. Today they got it wrong again. The owner Pat got involved and said "if you want expedited delivery" I would have to pay an additional $15. I only wanted the delivery that was advertised. He said that advertisement and web site was wrong for my address. He indicated if I did not want to pay an additional $15 for a total of $30, then he would cancel my order. Clearly this guy has no idea how to treat customers. It is amazing to me that his competitors charge less for their meals, and no delivery fee and still two day air delivery. I would not recommended these guys due to their false advertising and very poor customer service. read more
