Thank you to the Team at Advanced Mechanical. I have used…read moreyour service in the past, with excellent results, and found myself needing help with my home's furnace. Middle of the winter I expected to hear that I needed to pay an emergency fee to promptly get a tech to my house to look at my heat problem, however, I was pleasantly surprised when I found I was able to get a tech to my house the next morning (less than 24hrs) for a normal service call fee. The responding technician was thorough and explained my exact problem to me. Bottom line is I needed to repair or replace my aged furnace... Options were provided, with no upsell pressure. My furnace was unsafe to operate, so the tech took time to safely disable it and also took time to make sure I had adequate alternate heat sources to keep my two-story home warm and safe until we were able to fix my issue. Within a couple hours I had an estimate emailed to me, complete with several options to help me make the best decision. Ultimately I decided to update my furnace with a more efficient unit. I was impressed that Advanced Mechanical had a large inventory warehoused (in Bismarck) to ensure they have enough equipment on-hand to service our area. I appreciate the expense of holding this inventory and mitigating our current shipping and supply chain issues The team (Nate & Chris) that installed my new furnace was great. They were very friendly, clean and careful. They went the extra step to do an extremely professional installation, ensuring all plumbing etc. was clean and aesthetically good looking. They double checked all connections, gas supply and operations of all systems. They then made sure I was comfortable with all the repairs and understood everything. They left my utility room much cleaner than they found it! Very happy with the finished product and overall experience. It is definitely worth it to pay the pro's to come and do the work for you! Thank you!!

Sunday evening, we noticed we had no hot water. Monday morning, my dad called MDU to see if he had…read morethe appliance insurance through them - luckily he does! Spencer came over later in the morning and noticed the filter was plugged. This was fixed and we were told we should have hot water soon; however, we did not. I was quite frustrated and posted a comment on Facebook. Jami contacted me almost immediately and had Spencer at my house within a half hour & this time, it was fixed and he didn't leave until we felt the water warming up. I can understand troubleshooting doesn't always work the way I want it to and sometimes you have to try a few fixes before you get it right. I was hot and sticky & crabby (I needed a shower badly) I was blown away at how important it was to Jami that our hot water heater was fixed that night if at all possible. They took a situation with an unhappy customer and used it to create a very satisfied one who will definitely call on them again!

Bauer plumbing sent a plumber out to look at it. He told us our boiler was very old ( it is. 1904 ) and that he wasn't sure he would even be able to find parts for it anymore, but that he would try. We didn't hear from him for weeks. We finally got a text from Bauer this morning ( not even the courtesy of a personal call ) Text read "sorry, we cannot accommodate your request due to the technician getting sick from the asbestos and work conditions in your home. you will have to contact another plumber" This caused concern for me, as we have been living in the home for 12 years now, with no ill side effects, and have had other plumbers in the house ( including ones from Bauer, which is why we went with them this time ), again not reporting side effects. So, I went to the computer and looked up if a short, 20 minute exposure to asbestos, would or could cause short term illnesses. This is what I found. No, you cannot get sick for a week from a 20-minute exposure to asbestos. Asbestos does not cause acute, short-term illnesses like a cold, flu, or stomach bug. If you are currently feeling sick, your symptoms are almost certainly caused by something else entirely, such as a viral infection, bacterial infection, or acute irritation from general dust and debris. Asbestos-related illnesses operate on a very specific timeline and mechanism:Long Latency Periods: When asbestos fibers are inhaled, they can lodge deep in the lungs. They do not cause immediate symptoms. Instead, they cause slow, chronic irritation over decades. The Timeline: Asbestos-related diseases--such as asbestosis (lung scarring), lung cancer, or mesothelioma (cancer of the lung lining, typically taking 10-50 years to develop. Low One-Time Risk: While health agencies state that no level of asbestos exposure is entirely safe, a single, brief 20-minute exposure carries an extremely low risk of causing health problems down the road. Most serious illnesses occur in people who worked directly with the material daily for years. I understand the plumber not wanting to work with us, out of fear of risk of exposure to asbestos. ( we were assured, when we bought the house, that the asbestos on the boiler was completely encased in a non porous material, and posed no risk ) However, if this was the case, why not simply tell us, so we could look for other plumbers right away? Why lie to us? As is, we have been without hot water for nearly a month now, and now, are likley looking at a few more weeks, minimum, to find another plumber. This is HIGHLY unprofessional behavior. I expected better.
