    UBE & HOTDOG w/HOTCHEETOS

Matcha Cafe MAIKO was my first visit thanks to my cousins bringing me here, and overall it was a great experience. I'm personally not a big matcha fan. I've tried it many times and it just never works out for me, but fortunately they also offer UBE, so I stuck with what I know and enjoy. I ordered the UBE soft serve with Oreo cookie toppings, and it was delicious--smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet. Taro and UBE are always safe favorites for me. I also tried the Hot Cheetos Rice Hotdog, which was excellent. It was very filling and only $5, which is hard to beat. The flavor and texture combination worked really well. One of my cousins ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha, UBE soft serve, Potato Hotdog, and a Matcha tea, and somehow finished everything. My other cousin ordered the Crème Brûlée Matcha, which didn't quite hit for her this time. My spouse ordered the Maiko Special (half matcha, half UBE) with additional toppings and fillings and enjoyed it a lot, as she always does. The shop itself is cute, cozy, and comforting, and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Even if matcha isn't your thing, there are still plenty of options worth trying. We will definitely be back.

Cute little Matcha cafe. I found it on Yelp while searching for a dessert place after dinner. They have other snacks like rice hot dogs. The majority of their drinks are cold, you have to ask an employee about hot drink options. My husband and I both ordered the soft serve ice cream. They have matcha flavor, Ube flavor, or mix of both. I got the mixed and my husband ordered just the ube flavor. The place itself isn't too big but there's enough seating and there's also a cool Photo Booth that takes up a good amount of space. They even have props like headbands and glasses for the Photo Booth. There are board games and card games too. Super cute matcha cafe! Service was ok. Overall good experience.

Delicious soft serve ice cream and other frozen treats. I love how they decorate and always have some special celebration going on that makes it festive. The matcha is just like the ones in Japan albeit more expensive. Note that you will be spending anywhere from $6-10 depending on what you choose and how many toppings. The inside has lots of seating and water so it's a great place to meet friends. Besides matcha they have other flavors like ube and snacks.

The cashier doesn't know their menu or how to actively listen to order and the other employee rejected my daughter when she asked for the chocolate matcha and said " well we already made it". I asked for bingsu (I saw on TikTok they serve bingsu, but I guess they no longer do and was recommended to Hanamaru). I ordered the ube/ matcha swirl ice cream with red beans and mochi. The cashier told my daughter they do not serve chocolate matcha floats and put an order of latte matcha float. The ice cream came out fast and my daughter did research through TikTok and the menu again and found they do have chocolate matcha floats. I sat down and over heard the next customer who corrected one of the employees that he asked for a waffle cone with his ice cream so they had to remake his order too and threw away the ice cream cup. The ice cream quality was sweet and creamy, pretty good. The mochi was plain and not so sweet. Red beans were really good. Presentation was a disappointment compared to the dish I was trying to order. Would never go back, but I'm glad for the recommendation. The ambiance is clean, floral, and cute. ( she could've recommended the shaved ice matcha that comes with the beans and mochi. Tempted to 1 star this place)

Expensive but ugh it's worth it with how hard it is to find good matcha in SA. Love their ube x matcha mixes and it's nice that they have stamp cards. I also love their photo booth (with accessories!) and how they host mini vendors on the weekend. The place itself is a casual spot and looks a little run down but service is always friendly.

Very high quality matcha. The soft serve is amazing. We got the matcha tea and it was so refreshing. The interior is nothing special, but the drink quality is up there.

This store feels like it could be in LA or NYC! I love their swirled ice cream. I have tried the Matcha swirled with Ube and with their limited edition Peach. I have also tried their Maiko special which includes matcha ice cream, small chiffon cake cubes, mochi! And shaved ice. It's a fun way to try multiple things, but it's probably more value to just get their ice cream swirls, because sometimes they add a lot of shaved ice. I also tried their Hojicha float, which has matcha ice cream over hojicha latte! You can definitely taste the hojicha. The ice cream is a fun way to add some sweetness and creaminess. I most recently tried their strawberry matcha. It was on their chalkboard of employee recommended drinks, which I think is so fun! The matcha was nice and strong. I thought it would have a strawberry jam, but I only noticed a few starbwerry pieces. Maybe they used a strawberry syrup? Or not at all. I wish the strawberry flavor was more apparent. Definitely recommend this place!

I enjoyed the cheese matcha latte but I'm pretty sure it was pre sweetened so I don't know how authentic it is. The Korean dogs were great, I recommend getting the half and half dog.

This place is my favorite matcha place ever! The place is so cute on the inside and they have a photo booth to remember your time there. The service is always amazing. They're fast and very kind. I recommended getting the matcha float latte

Authentic Uji matcha (from Kyoto) experience. We just got back from Kyoto and recognized this brand so we decided to check them out. So many to choose from! Matcha, ube in all forms of dessert. Soft serve, shaved ice, Uji-kintoki, frappes, lattes... they have so much! Deducting a star coz they need to keep up with how busy this place is- bit of cleaning is helpful.

Premium Matcha Cafe Maiko is a definite must try! I got the Matcha Maiko Special which had matcha soft serve, mochi balls, cereal flakes, jelly and red bean. The matcha was strong and you get a lot for the price. The store is also really big with plenty of seating. They also have a cute Korean Photo Booth too! I came on a very busy day and the dessert still came out pretty fast.

    Yumm! Ube matcha specials

Matcha lover?? Must try this place! There can be quite a line so there's a bit of a wait. But the drinks are worth it. Lots of photo op while you wait as well. Ambiance is very floral and cutesy for those Insta photos. Seatings are limited so people often take their items to-go. Definitely recommend!

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.
