I would highly recommend Premium K9 Services. After experiencing what we initially thought were bed bug bites, we ripped apart our house looking for the source. After finding no evidence of bed bugs, we enlisted the service of another detection dog service. After a quick check, the detection dog's handler informed us that the dog had "alerted" to two pieces of furniture in our room indicating there was "something there". However, no additional search or confirmation was completed by the handler and we were left to wonder and wait. We were offered a recheck in about a week's time for a fee of $80. In the meantime, we ripped apart our room again looking for the bugs, contacted exterminators, and spent a great deal of time and money buying products to eliminate our elusive bed bug problem.
Wanting a second opinion, I got in touch with Dave from Premium K9 Services. After talking to a number of detection dog companies, Dave came across as friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to answer questions. Dave told us that once his dog "alerted" to a problem, he would then confirm the alert himself with a visual inspection. We would be shown the bed bugs, if there was a problem. He told us that unless the alert can be confirmed visually, then it might be considered a "false alert". Unless confirmed, a false alert could lead to an unnecessary, and hugely expensive extermination process as well as time and stress. If the dog alerted and no bugs were found, Dave said he would complete a recheck at no charge a couple of weeks later.
Dave completed the check of our home and spent the time to thoroughly, visually inspect all the beds, bedding and upholstered furniture in our house. He then completed the check with his dog. Our house was found to bed bug free. Dave took the time to answer our questions and provide us with some education on bed bugs. He was able to put our worries to rest and saved us from needlessly exterminating. read more
