The first guy gave us a great $ Price $ quote, sadly he was not insured (um, huge red flag to me, anything to happen we would be at fault, or a grey area, and I dont need to deal with a grey area , someone getting hurt, and or lawsuits if it came to it. The other guys $ price $ ranged was close , just a few thousand dollars apart ish. But a few thousand is a few thousand, We are a budget family, only have one provider, my wife, I am on full Disability, so I try to help her with any thing I can, sometimes it hard due to my chronic pain, really takes it out of it, but she is Amazing.. ANYWAYS, back to this ROOF. lol "Davis Roofing", It came down to what ive researched , I narrowed it to 2 companies, "Davis Roofing" . I am very grateful that they took those massive boards/beams out, since they were really warp, so they replaced them, looks great like nothing happened or wasnt repaired. No charge , it was in our quote , so Im guessing they do that for all there customers, and part of there bussiness model , which is awsome and doesnt throw a wrench into the operation of the roof, and extra fees that is already expsive enough, lol... They really want to earn your business. And trust me they go the extra Mile for you. I could go on about there company and met with the owner, nice guy.. It was in the middle of a rain storm and it was basically raining inside our house due to a leak in the roof, under our solar panels. Ramirez Roofing provided an estimate and then coordinated the fix which required collaborating with a solar contractor to remove then reinstall the panels. They were great at communicating every step of the way, and on the day of the repair, they were here right on time and the work was completed in under 2 hours (this includes removing solar panels, figuring out exactly where the leak was, repairing the leak, and reinstalling the panels). What really prompted me to write this review is his comment that he won't leave his driveway without a $100 service call. I already agreed to pay $395 for a full roof maintenance service, which should include inspecting the roof for any issues. Asking for an additional fee on top of that feels like he's trying to take advantage. Proper maintenance work should uncover problems without a separate service call charge. Overall, I wouldn't recommend him if you value honesty, transparency, and respect for your time.

Last summer, I DIY'd a solar vent system for my unfinished garage, which seemed ok, but had small leakage in the early winter's rains last year, and then got worse as the heavier rains came recently. The first company quoted me a little over double Gentry's, so I was glad I waited for Dana to come out and take a look at it the following day and went with the cheaper estimate and with a 3 year warranty, whereas the other was 2. Plus he was able to send out his crew to take care of it the next day, even in the midst of rain, they worked and replaced shingles and did the job correctly. One guy spoke English pretty well, but his helper didn't seem to, and my Spanish isn't the greatest, so I wasn't going to try and make a fool of myself. Took a couple tries to understand sometimes, but eventually, I got the gist of what I did wrong, even though I thought I had followed the manufacturer's YouTube video correctly. Once I saw what the pros did, it made much more sense. This will be my last DIY roofing project, and I will just refer to the nice professionals like those at Gentry Construction to do the work. The guys that worked on my roof worked well and hard despite the rain, and luckily it wasn't too hard and intermittent. Shout out to all the hard working immigrant workers out there!! Initial communication with Gentry was great and fast, so was surprised and a little worried when after the work was done and payment was sent, the finished invoice took a few days to get communicated back, but eventually it was sent and all is good. Juan Chavez was very responsive during all of the scheduling calls, and Eric Lloyd provided updates every single day during the process. Their communication was much appreciated. I have a two year roof certification dated 9/25/25. I have found two leaks and dry rot but NRG does…read morenot provide any repairs for the damage they missed. We found damage shortly after we moved into our home. NRG came out twice to look but never followed up with repair. We ended up hiring another company to fix the roof leak and repair the dry rot. Now Two months later we hired a company to clean our gutters and remove moss from the roof and this contractor discovered another leak in a seperate area as well as the dry rot you see in the photos below. According to the certificate in the first photo attached NRG warranted this roof for two years from any leaks. They come and look at the damage but do not follow up with any remedy in this situation. Buyer beware if you use them to inspect your roof when purchasing a home. Our realtor ordered the inspection on our behalf and we paid the invoice.

What was most important to me was the warrantees, which he offered 25 year warranty for workmanship, and 50 warranty from GAF for any materials that should not hold up. The other two proposals only offered either a 7 year or 10 year warranty. I had a very good feeling when discussing the project with David that he would deliver what he said.
