On Sunday, I received a message that they won't be able to come out on Monday because of an emergency job that came up so they rescheduled me for Wednesday. In both appointments, they did not provide a estimated time of arrival. Wednesday arrives and I call plus text them asking when they plan on coming by. When I call, a person picks up and says he will check his schedule and get back to me. I haven't heard back from the company for 4 days now. Despite calling for an update, my calls always go to voicemail now. If you can't do the job or are no longer interested, just let me know so I can find someone else to assist me.

I chose 5 companies based on high ratings and reviews from multiple sites (Google, Yelp, HomeAdvisor, NextDoor) and received estimates that had a wide range in price/cost. BTW- the scope of work was tree cutting and stump grinding. Here's why I decided to go with KnowTrees: 1. This company had the most consistent highest ratings across all of the sites. Many of the reviews were recent and from a wide range of individuals. BTW - YELP is hiding many of the 5 star review from many other customers. If you scroll to the bottom of the review, you can see the hidden reviews. 2. The owner, Matthew, is fantastic. 3. Most importantly to me.....the PRICE. His bid was very competitive and reasonable. Here's why I'm glad I used KnowTrees: 1. Great communication leading up to the work. 2. The crew very professional. 3. The work was done efficiently and carefully. 4. Clean up was fab. My next door neighbor was so pleased with the work they did (he was watching them from his porch) he wanted their contact info. I plan on using KnowTrees as our primary tree expert. Being prudent consumers, we called 5 tree removal companies for estimates. ArborCut was one of them. While showing the trees to "Alex", I had my doubts as to whether he was a qualified arborist. He said some things that were contrary to the way the other arborists had suggested we handle the trees and roots. When I got the estimate it was WAY lower than the other estimates. And, when I asked for proof of insurance he said it didn't have it with him (all 4 of the other companies provided proof at the time of the estimate). I emailed Alex the next day to get proof of insurance and this was his exact response (errors and all): "We can send you insurance certificate after we sign agrement, this is our policy, after we sign the agreement with you, we will send you proof of insurance with your name on it. Actualy we will submit your information to our insurance agent and they will send it to you." This is completely deceitful and unacceptable. Any legitimate, insured company will be happy to provide you with proof. And, I don't even know what he is talking about - liability insurance isn't handled that way. All I can say is - unless you have a tree out in a field that is no risk of falling on something, and you get the company and each of its workers to sign an Indemnity agreement - I would AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!
