Brown tile floor, brown wood vanity. Why would anyone choose to make a bathroom the color of poop I cannot reconcile to myself. I have been annoying my husband for two years since we moved in to the house with my rants about it. This year I convinced him to let me spend some of our tax return on changing that. Thanks to my raging addiction to HGTV I knew exactly what I wanted to do in there and contacted Brian about my vision in mind. He is the most laid back dude, super chill and easy to work with. Brian does beautiful tile work, he made some very helpful suggestions about the tile and how to lay it so it would look the nicest. Aside from the tile work, he also changed out the shower head, replaced the vanity sink and installed faucets and a new backsplash, replaced the mirror, light fixture and toilet. Oh! And he hung up some shelves and changed the light above the shower. He did an amazing job. My husband was very happy with the changes that were made, his only negative was "This is so nice now the rest of the house looks like crap". Ha! Kelly B recommended Brian at Two Ells. I called him that day, left a message. He returned the message that day and we set up a time for an estimate. I love prompt responsiveness, and right off the bat, I had a good feeling about Brian. My parents haven't had any major work done in their 1980-built house since they moved in, circa 1984. Partly because they didn't want to spend the money and partly because it can be difficult finding an honest, affordable contractor, which has to do with the first reason really. Two of the several things I'm super grateful for regarding the way Brian works are his honesty and his ability to see projects in a cost-effective way. He is also extremely patient. My Mom had some health issues arise during our plans and Brian was so patient with us and having to push the date back (& our slacking on picking out materials, mostly because my mom is a perfectionist procrastinator). While we were waiting on the bathroom finalization, Brian painted our upstairs hallway and our family room and did a great job. He also replaced all of the gross fluorescent tube lighting in our kitchen and powder room with recessed lighting. I swear if you can only change one thing in a house built in the 70's-80's, the upgrade in lighting will make a WORLD of difference. My parents home only has one shower so it was VITAL that the tub and shower tile work was done relatively quickly. Brian and Bryce had the tub, tiles, and fixtures installed and ready to be used in 3.5 days. We were blown away with how quickly they worked and how beautiful the tile work turned out. The remainder of the bathroom work (new floor, new toilet, new lighting, painting, new doors, new vanity and counter top) took about 7-8 work days, at the most. We had a delay in getting the vanity and counter top from the materials supplier, but Brian checked in every couple of days to let us know what was going on. The project altogether probably took about 10 days. To remodel a full bathroom. Yay! I highly recommend Two Ells. Their pricing for our projects was SUPER reasonable and Brian is a really good, honest guy. He had great communication with us throughout our projects. We had estimates from a couple of other contractors initially but we got the best feeling from Brian and knew he was the man for our job! We look forward to working more with him in the future! It disappoints me to see so many of the reviews for this business filtered because I'm sure they are legit. Brian deserves all of that praise for the quality work he does. Thanks Brian! Over the last 10 years or so Ivy Lea has sided my Daughters house, her MIL's house and windows and…read moresiding in my brothers house. Last fall they replaced the rubber roof over my Kitchen. While the roof was open they installed 6" of cellulose insulation over the12" of existing fiberglass. Happy to say the quality materials and professional workmanship are still there. Mark and the crew kept our house dry even with the unexpected rain during installation. I was happy to see how little ice I had on my roof with all the snow we had in North Evans this year. Mark and pleasant, courteous and did a great job cleaning up. The job was completed in its entirety just as Brad described, no " we'll come back later and finish the few remaining pieces" Thanks Ivy Lea for a great job.

Braendel Painting & Services, Inc. quoted me $3,500 to paint my kitchen. I signed a contract with…read moreBraendel on June 5, 2021, and they began the work shortly thereafter. However, the project was not completed until nine months later. I had expected the job to be finished within a few days. Throughout the project, I repeatedly contacted Braendel to address areas that had been left unpainted and sections where the paint had peeled from the cabinets. Braendel painted over cabinets that were more than 50 years old without sanding or priming them beforehand. I can personally attest to this because I was present throughout the entire project and observed the work being performed. As a result, the paint began peeling. I called several times requesting that the cabinets be repainted. Although Braendel later used a more expensive paint, the peeling problem continued. At no point did the owner or project manager contact me to ask whether I was satisfied with the work. Instead, a different painter was sent each time I reported problems. During one visit, I overheard a phone conversation between the company and the painter they had sent. Someone from the Company asked, "Is she for real?" The painter replied, "Yes. I am now painting the ceiling that was not completed." Even after these issues were addressed, the project manager never contacted me to discuss the quality of the work or my satisfaction with the project. Eventually, the last painter assigned to my job, Eric Godlewski, took the cabinet doors home and repainted them. I was pleased with the quality of his work. Before he left, I asked whether he knew anyone who installed replacement windows. Mr. Godlewski offered to do the work himself. Based on my positive experience with his cabinet work, I agreed. Mr. Godlewski measured the windows, purchased them, and stacked them on my back porch. On March 31, 2022, I gave him $4,300, and he provided me with a receipt. After that, I never heard from him again. I was out $4,300. To make matters worse, the windows that were purchased were all the wrong size and did not fit any of my window openings. Because they could not be returned, I donated them to Habitat for Humanity. I chose to work with Braendel because the company had a good reputation. Since then, I have learned that Mr. Godlewski has an extensive criminal record. In my opinion, Braendel should have exercised greater care in selecting and supervising individuals representing the company. I contacted Dan Bishop, the project manager for Braendel, several times regarding these issues. He returned only one call and informed me that Braendel was not responsible. He never responded to any of my subsequent calls. Would I do business with Braendel again? Absolutely not. Shelley Ruh

In the end I chose A Best for the job. What made the difference was that I really liked Tom when he showed up to do the estimate. He was very personable and explained everything to my satisfaction. He definitely instilled confidence in the products they use and the work they do. I also enjoyed hearing about the history of the company and how his family started it. The price was more than fair. We made an appointment for him to come back so we could draw up the contract. The contract was pretty straightforward and the entire process was painless. He told me the work would begin in 3 to 5 weeks and it would take 2 days to complete. A few days before the work began I received a call from the foreman confirming the materials were allowed to be dropped off on the grass, and asking me to make sure the driveway was clear for a dumpster they'd be having dropped off. Sure enough the next day the materials showed up, the next day the dumpster got dropped off early in the morning and a crew showed up and got to work. But lemme tellya, not only did they get to work that day but they also finished it. 12 men and one woman who was the foreman who'd called me a few days prior, showed up and they worked from sun up to sun down and they were impressive. They knew their stuff and every time I looked every single one of them was actively working unless they were on a break. I'd heard a one day roof job might not be the most desirable but this one was only one day and it was great. I'm happy with it and so is my husband. I for sure recommend them.

I live in a different state, so I was helping her arrange everything remotely. We decided to choose ABest over the other companies that provided estimates because of the sales person who came over to give her the estimate. He seemed like a good guy. He gave me a nice pitch over the phone about how we needed to take care of the older generation. All sounded great! I thought she would be in good hands. All the estimates we received were around the same price. My mother's house has a small entrance way in the back that has a slightly pitched roof. On the contract that she signed, it specified that no flat roof sections would be part of the work. I spoke to the sales guy on the phone asking him to include the entrance way roof. He agreed but never included it on the work order. So, that section was never roofed. Also, my mother HAD a small aluminum folding bench that she used to support herself while gardening in her yard. After the workers finished the job, packed and cleaned up, my mother gave them a check, she noticed that her bench was no longer in the yard. She mentioned this to the foreman. He said that her neighbor came over and took it. The workers left after that. My mother and I both spoke to the neighbor, who has been a close family friend for years, said he did not borrow it. My mother called ABest, upset that someone doing work on her house would steal from her. I also spoke to them and I was told that they would replace the bench. This never happened. I spoke to them 4 times over the past 3 months about this issue. I was promised each time that a bench would be dropped off but it still hasn't happened. I called for the final time today and told them what awful people they are to take advantage of an 84 year old women. It's totally possible that one of the workers thought the bench was theirs and just threw it in their truck during clean up. If so, why say her neighbor came over and took it? One more thing, it took them 2 months to pick up the pallet of extra shingles that sat in my mother's driveway. Each time I called about the bench I asked them to get the shingles. Their work maybe fine, we'll soon find out, but I do not recommend hiring them because they cannot be trusted.
