I…read morewas a little annoyed that they scheduled her appointment on the other side of the downtown area when I saw there was an office on Southside which is where we live. So instead of a 4-mile drive in traffic, it was a 12 mile drive in traffic. However, this does not take away from their 5-Star rating because it wasn't the fault of Optimal Imaging. In addition, driving in Jacksonville traffic is no where near as bad as driving in D.C. traffic! The parking area is small and when we arrived there were only three spaces available, I took one and an elderly lady took two! Lol. I'm laughing now but if it were me looking for that last parking space, I would have been livid because now I would have to find street parking. :-/ When we walked in I heard the front desk person tell someone that they were cutting down trees in the back so the parking was limited today. The lobby is very clean and they have a free coffee machine area. They have both light and bold coffee options as well as green tea pods. They even have flavored creamer. Nice! And something I don't often see in the lobby of a "medical-type" facility is a Coca-Cola frig with of course, Coke products and Dasani bottled water, all for free. They also have separate Women and Men bathroom. The front desk personnel was very friendly, professional and checked us in immediately. As soon as we finished filling out the paperwork they called my mom to the back for her MRI.

All of my appointments have been in the afternoon, and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes. They stay on schedule and on time. The people downstairs who check you in have always been friendly and all smiles. They make me feel very comfortable. Every tech for every procedure has been professional while still being friendly at the same time. Again, I've always been made to feel very comfortable. The techs are very knowledgeable and explain everything they are doing. They are more than willing to answer any and all questions you may have. My most recent visit was just last week for an MRI. My doctor originally wrote my orders to go somewhere else, but I asked him to please rewrite the orders for Baptist Imaging and he gladly did so. I just can't see myself going anywhere other than here for any type of diagnostic imaging unless I have a doctor who absolutely insists I go somewhere else. In addition to the entire staff here being nothing less than wonderful, it's very clean with a welcoming environment and nice decor.

This was the first time using Akumin! I had to get an Echocardiogram today. Because I have a CDL…read more(commercial drivers license) and had heart surgery I have to have an Echocardiogram and Stress Test every two years. I'm able to alternate the test so this year it was the Echo. I did all the necessary paperwork online. Did the checkin process online and downloaded all the required documents and insurance information prior to arrival. I arrived at 10:30am and signed in and waited to be called back. About 10 minutes later they called me back for my procedure. I was completely done and leaving the facility at 11:05am. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly! The technician that did my echocardiogram procedure was very friendly and talked to me about my procedure. Everything was nice and updated and clean. The only thing I noticed was the restroom was messy but I think someone just came out "with issues lol". Definitely recommend Akumin and glad I came today. Will definitely not be worried next year when I come back for my stress test!

Had to make several phone calls, trying to get my report and when I finally was able to go pick it up the report said I didn't provide any images. Like I'm literally trying to find out if I have cancer. I have called them and reached out through their contact that's on their website regarding never receiving a bill. I never received a bill and email a phone call nothing and they end up sending my balance to a debt collector. I let them know that I was changing coverage and then I was about to move, and I was trying to take care of the bill as quickly as possible. So unprofessional on so many levels that I would never go to this place again.

I was recently seen at University of Florida Health - Jacksonville Neurology. I scheduled an…read moreoutpatient physician office visit in Neurology. I requested a good faith estimate multiple times from Billing, Neurology, and Customer Service. I did not receive one. At the date and time of my appointment I was informed there would be a hospital fee in addition to my office visit fee due to the location being in proximity to the hospital. I did not enter the hospital nor did i receive services there. I requested the removal of the fee due to the fact that was not informed in advance of the appointment and was never provide the price. I contacted customer service and billing and received no assistance. I then contacted the patient advocate. The response is received was that UF does not provide good faith estimates and does not notify patients of the hospital fee at the location in advance of the appointment. The lack of price transparency and concern for patients financial burdens is appalling.
