The man at the front, I will assume he was the owner or manager, said they were very busy that day. I told him that's fine, I will make an appointment. He then said "NO, I'll squeeze you in. That was my first mistake. I should have made the appointment anyway. An older woman wearing glasses, was my nail tech, seemed to be in a rush did not do any of the prep work to my feet, before putting them in the foot bath. None of what is normally done for a pedicure, she did not apply to my feet! She butchered my toenails!! The cuticles were ragged, with quite a few nicks. She did a horrible job with the nail polish!! The pedicure was the worst I've ever experienced. Never mind the offering of drinks, do a better job of what you're being paid to do!! And worst yet, I had given her a fifteen dollar tip, for a very sloppy pedicure, a basic pedicure, a lousy pedicure!! Oh, and she said, I'll only charge you 20 dollars, instead of 50 dollars!! On the day of my appointment, I received missed calls from the salon at 2:53, 3:23, and 3:26 while I was working and actively presenting in a meeting. I returned the call at 3:36, but it rang and went to voicemail. I assumed they were calling to see if I could come earlier, which happens often, and figured they would see my number on their caller ID and call me back if there was a larger issue. Instead, when I arrived at 6:00pm, I learned that my appointment had been moved to 4:00 PM without my confirmation. The scheduling mistake itself was not what upset me most. It was being gaslit by the gentlemen at the front desk when I tried to address it. Instead of simply acknowledging that the appointment had been changed without my confirmation, I was told that I had I clicked the link in the September 13 text to check my appointment time I would see the change. That was incredibly frustrating when I had scheduled a time that fit my availability and received a text clearly stating my appointment was for September 24 at 6:00 PM. If someone had said, "We made a mistake. We're sorry. We should have confirmed the change with you," I would have been understanding. Mistakes happen. Gaslighting a loyal customer instead of taking accountability is what crossed the line for me. I'm not sure I can bring myself to continue to support a business that treats customers this way.

Even if customers don't understand the language, her tone and body language make it obvious that she's talking about them, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. In addition, the owner's phone etiquette could be much more professional. Good customer service goes beyond the quality of the nails--it also includes treating every customer with respect and making them feel welcome.
