The pest control office has never had a problem reaching me. About a week ago I walk outside and see their truck so I went over to say hello. The man in the truck said he wasn't there to say hello he was coming to remove my termite bait traps. I was shocked. He said they had been trying to call me for my renewal but I was avoiding them so they were there to remove my traps. Wow. They have reached me every quarter for a few years and charged my credit card every time without problem. But for some reason they couldn't reach me for termite. Not true. The owner Steve was so rude. Now I have purchased my own traps so as they pick up their trap I will drop the same plastic trap back in its place. In other words if this happens to you, go online and buy your own very inexpensive traps. Pretty crazy.

In my opinion, do NOT automatically believe the company's response without reviewing the actual facts and documentation yourself.** My experience with LaJaunie's Pest Control was extremely disappointing and financially stressful. I was sold a very expensive rodent package, including approximately **$18,000 in exclusion work** that was supposed to help prevent rats from entering the home, in addition to attic cleaning and ongoing pest services. Despite all of this work and money spent, I STILL had rodent activity afterward and was repeatedly told to "just wait, it takes a while." **PLEASE READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY.** From my understanding, the cancellation terms heavily favored the company and included major financial penalties tied to the remaining balance of the agreement. The billing issues became even more concerning: * After already making **11 out of 12 payments**, I was told I could cancel and would not owe additional payments. * I later continued receiving charge notifications and attempted charges to my card. * I spoke with **Shelly twice** and was specifically told there would NOT be an additional **$49 charge** because they were "just picking up bait boxes." * Another charge was still processed anyway. * When I called back, management stated I still needed to pay. I was also told the company "records everything," yet the information later being described as part of my alleged agreement was NOT what I stated during the conversations. I requested copies of the recordings they referenced and am still waiting. Fortunately, I also keep my own records of conversations. When I raised concerns, I was told the employee involved "no longer works for the company." Again: PLEASE document everything in writing, save screenshots, review every clause carefully, and get multiple opinions before committing to any large pest-control contract.

We started looking into companies that treat small areas of dry wood termites since we didn't need the house to be tented and found Lajaunie's. They offer a whole house no tent dry wood termite treatment that comes with dry wood termite coverage as long as you pay the annual inspection fee. It's pricey but the peace of mind that we won't be chasing the termites around the house is worth it. They treated the underneath of our house, the attic and drilled holes on both sides of each door and window to treat.

We noticed tiny poppy seed size bugs on our sheets... off to the urgent care! Complete body lice treatment head to soles of feet with cream for 14 hours. Fog the upstairs with permethrin. Pay hundreds to have linens and furniture covers laundered. Ran tons of loads of clothing laundry. Then we call Orkin. It's a Sunday. Orkin customer service - sure thing we can get someone there tomorrow first thing in the morning and have you sorted same day. Many of our trucks carry supplies to do treatments right after inspection. Great. Paid $100+ on the phone = the fee for inspection. The next morning at 8am the inspector arrives. We collected 40 of the now dead insects (from our treatment), put them in a ziploc and hand them to him. They are Poppy seed size and visible to the naked eye to be round with little legs. There is one we find on my wife's pillow and then dozens we find on the window sills opposite side of the room. Inspector says "I've never seen these before... I'll need to bring them to the lab right away and look under a microscope." That all before 9am. Then... radio silence the whole day. So I call 3 times to get a status update. Each time customer service assured me we'd have an answer - even put me on hold to call the office and the specific inspector. At 2pm he tells the customer service to tell me that he has been out all day and is getting back to the office late but will have answers for me in an hour. Of course, he doesn't call back. Tuesday morning our window sills are coated with these bugs. I call Orkin again and they say they will elevate this to the manager of the Orkin branch in harahan. They also tell me that if the bugs are lice they can't help us. According to this 10 year in the field Orkin veteran, they don't treat lice. Then I get the attached text message FINALLY from the inspector. See photo. FYI I took a photo of the bag before handing it to the inspector. Read his analysis and look at the photo for yourself. 2 insects in the bag and the rest appears to be dirt? LOL. No phone call. This is the value the customer gets of paying more than $100 for an Orkin inspection. So I do a little online research... why so many of these creatures on the window sill? Sure enough bird nests can be vectors. I go outside my room and on the porch in the wall is a European starling bird nest. I get up on a ladder and there are literally thousands of these awful bugs on the exterior wall around the hole the bird created. People are usually under duress when their home is infested. I've been using Brans Pest Control, and no one else, since I moved into my current apartment 10…read moreyears ago. About 8 months into my first year living here, I was gifted with a disgusting, rapidly growing roach problem courtesy of my upstairs neighbours. Let me set up this nightmare fuel for y'all: at about 1AM on a Thursday night, I hear a crash from the room above my bed... And then another... And then a few more. Just when I'm about to set my book aside and roll out to see what's going on, I hear a shrill, muffled "OH MY **CKING GOD THEY'RE IN EVERYTHING" from above. I've been on this planet living amongst nasty twenty-somethings, who never do dishes and don't know what a broom is for, long enough to know EXACTLY what was happening. Sure enough, about 2 minutes later the crashes migrate outside where they are catapolting everything they presumably own out the front door. I spent the rest of my flashing life into the wee dawn hours staring red-eyed at my ceiling, as if the bugs were going to phase through the drywall to rain (or reign) upon my head. The next morning, as I lumbered into my kitchen, I entered my first staring match with the recently displaced occupants of unit 3123B. After months of waiting for adequate response from my landlord - low expectations from the start I assure you- and several failed attempts to negotiate rent or a cease fire out of the colony of refugees making use of my amenities, I just stepped right over that line and went searching for myself. I wanted a local company a) to support local business, b) because I don't trust the service of corporate brands and don't want to deal with their "customer service", and c) don't want to be locked into a contract. I landed on Brans, and from day 1 they were professional, very fairly priced, and guaranteed their work. No lie, it took a few visits and about a month to erradicate the roach problem, which did not surprise me, but they kept on the ball and resolved the issue within my original agreement. I took over property management for the landlord and have been using Brans quarterly for the entire house. They are very honest people, and have worked within my budget. I have used them to take care of bugs and rodents and have yet to be disappointed.
