We brought our 7 month old Bernedoodle to Premier Dog Training for their 2 week Puppy Boot Camp program. We dropped off a dog that occasionally followed the basic commands: come, sit, stay (sort of), down, paw -- but only when tasked with these commands inside our home w/ zero distractions. We picked up a dog that followed all of those commands (and then some!), but most importantly when presented with all of his favorite distractions nearby (i.e. other people, dogs, treats, etc.) Additionally, Premier trained our dog off leash -- so we are able to bring him to city parks & on hikes, confidently knowing he won't run out into a busy street or put himself in danger. Most importantly, Premier taught my husband & I how to be consistent -- command, praise/correction, repeat. This lesson, in simple communication, improved drastically our relationship with our dog. Before training, it's clear there was a lot of confusion and our dog just wanted to please us -- but w/ inconsistent commands/communication, that didn't make for positive results. After working with Premier we can tell our dog is so much happier -- now that he knows exactly what is expected of him. Since finishing the program (over a year ago), we've used Premier for boarding for all of our trips in addition to daycare once a week. With each drop-off/pick-up, we're reminded of just how loving the entire Premier team is. With no family in the DMV area -- dropping our dog off at Premier makes us feel like we're taking him to spend a week w/ his favorite Aunt & Uncle. That's the human review. From our dog -- he practically starts to whimper with excitement when we exit from 95, because he KNOWS where we're headed. Once we park, he doesn't walk -- but RUNS into the front office, and barely looks back as the team takes him into the back. As an owner, you can't ask for much more than that! Lastly, worth noting that Premier Training assistance is 100% guaranteed. At 1.5, our dog started reverting back to some of his puppy behavior (jumping to say hi to other dogs.) We e-mailed Premier and they took us THE NEXT DAY...a quick 1hr session to re-train the Humans, and we were back to good upon returning home. January 9, 2017 From the day I picked out my cute little 8-week old German Shepherd puppy who I named "Blaze" from the litter until it became evident I needed professional assistance to correct his behavior. Blaze needed the discipline training as all GSD's do since he will be a working dog as well as my partner and most of all my best friend.    I enrolled Blaze in your Boot Camp program I highly recommend as I felt it was the best route to go for his first training. Blaze came to you with a variety of behavioral problems especially jumping up on people and mouthing etc. With your expert training and dedication to both Blaze and me, you transformed this huge unruly German Shepherd into a well-mannered obedient dog. Our 8 month lab/pit mix puppy attended the 3 week Boot Camp boarding and training and the results were amazing. We dropped off a dog that very much a puppy, testing limits, could sit, occasionally down, but pick up and chewed everything under the sun. It was getting aggravating finding something new chewed, usually a children's book or toy. He had some training through a pet store, but we weren't happy with the results and the philosophy/manner of training. We multiple care takers for our children, our dog was having a field day not have consistent commands and discipline. When we picked up Ash, he was so different. The transformation in his behavior was amazing. He now knew sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, off and place with distractions. We still have some hiccups at home, but we were told to except that for a bit (he is getting accustomed to being back home, different caretakers and just testing his boundaries). Sending Ash to the training was a lifesaver. His behavior was getting to the point that was requiring more time in the crate, then out. We spent about a week and half searching for possible board/training programs and when we found Premier we were sold. We immediately felt comfortable and confident in the staff and facility. The staff is really hands on, answers any question, calls you about anything, and great with the dogs. I was extremely happy that they posted on Instagram (each dog has their own hashtag), so you could follow your dogs training. Although 3 weeks is a long time and felt odd at home, we couldn't be more happier with the results. Based on our research, this was the best bang for the buck and personally, I didn't feel it was expensive for what you were receiving. We wanted two things out of the boarding & training, (1) a well manner dog who could really be part of our family and (2) a place that would love and treat our dog as we do. We got both with Premier. We will definitely be using them for boarding over vacations. read more

False advertisement!!!!!! Over the phone I was told the 2 week program cost $500. This was the only time the price for the program was ever talked about. No email, receipt, or statement was given to me. When I saw my bank account statement, I was charge $1500. When I called and tried to talk to the manager, the lady said she would call me back. She never did. I have called over 20 times and they never answered my calls or voicemails. A week has pass and I still haven't heard anything back. Most unprofessional business ever. read more

It's seems that all of the reviews are based on their training programs and not for their boarding. I'd like to say their staff all seem to be very friendly however I left feeling that they take priority & care for their training only. I was a boarding customer and found Premier based on their reviews and did not realize that all of their reviews were about their training and not boarding. Although their price was very reasonable, my wife and I noticed our dog was panting & breathing heavy as if she was over heating. It was hot outside but for a dog that was indoors and was bathed before we came to pick her up in morning was not normal. After about 20-30 minutes in air conditioned car she started to calm. To top it all off on the second day home she developed signs of kennel cough. After visiting our vet they asked if we boarded our dog and also asked if the facility was well ventilated. Yes she was boarded however did not see facilities to know if it was well ventilated. I started to think about my dog panting because of heat and wondered... Well, I regret not realizing that all the great reviews were for their training and nothing on boarding. I really wished I felt like all of their great reviews leaving this place. I feel our dog was kept in kennel without being paid attention to and it saddens me thinking she was just there being second rate to the boot camp dogs. I was told pictures would be posted up however it was of the boot camp dogs only. Need to find a place where they provide pics and webcams for a peace of mind... I know I will read through all reviews and make a better decision on where I take my companion next time. Although I can't put a price on my dog's well being...I could have used the extra $190 I spent on exam and medication due to kennel cough on something else my pet companion could've enjoyed. We recently retrieved our 5 1/2 year old Shepherd mix after a 3 week boot camp program and are pretty much in awe of what Premier Dog Training was able to accomplish with our crazy dog! We adopted him 4 months ago. He was out of control and we had no idea how to teach him basic commands and good behavior. He is a large dog and very strong. I used to fear for my bodily safety while he took me for walks (drags) and in the house when he would suddenly attack my feet while going up and down the stairs. He also was horrible on car trips because he would bark at every single car going the opposite direction in the other lane!! Our magnificent beast had a bad habit of running away if he ever got outside off leash or pulled so hard that I had to let him go or loose an arm. We asked to have these problems addressed at boot camp, but were skeptical that anything could be done to tame this wild creature. Well, we are skeptics no longer! The changes in this animal's behavior are really wonderful! On the way home from PDT in the car we were amazed that he responded to a simple "quiet" command and stopped barking at other cars! He is so much better on walks! I feel comfortable and safe with a "leave it" or an "easy" that keep him under control. We have been working with him at home letting him run off leash in the woods and he is doing very well with responding to "come". That never was a possibility before boot camp. We truly love our dog and want him to be happy, but we need to be happy, too. I boarded my dog here for a week when I had to go out of town and they were awesome. My dog has had allergy flare ups in the past and they emailed me to let me know about some tiny bumps that had appeared on his neck and that they were taking care of it, and then they emailed me about noticing the skin between his toes being a little inflamed (which has happened from him licking due to allergies). I can't believe they noticed these small things and it just made me feel more at ease leaving him there knowing they were so on top of health concerns. Premier Dog Training is the best of the best. A couple months after we brought my dog home, he started to develop some pretty bad separation anxiety as well as other behavioral issues. We took him to Premier Dog Training for their doggy boot camp and the work they had done with my dog Huck was truly life changing. No more anxiety and his behavior is impeccable. We also take Huck there for daycare when we travel. When pick him up it's so obvious he has the best time - he never wants to leave! We had a fantastic experience with our 2 year old coonhound mix Conrad at Premier's three week off-leash bootcamp. Since coming home a week ago, he is a much better listener and actually hears our commands the first time and listens no matter what. This is leaps and bounds above where he was before bootcamp, as he is strong willed with pretty serious resource guarding issues that we weren't able to fix ourselves. When we came in to pick him up, Conrad's trainer walked us through everything he learned. He took the time to thoughtfully answer all of our questions and make sure we were prepared to keep up with his training at home. We could tell how much he cared about Conrad and how much Conrad loved training with him. My review reflects my impression of the facilities, the staff, the boarding conditions, and the training program for Premier. All are excellent. I initially found Premier when looking for facilities that take dogs with dog reactivity challenges. Not only does Premier take dogs like mine, but their prices are extremely reasonable. In touring the facilities, I found them to be very well maintained, well ventilated, sizable and comfortable for my pup, and they have a great system for ensuring dogs get regular exercise throughout their stay. My baby boy comes back a very happy boy and is quite tuckered out. I have also utilized the training boot camp for our bubba. He used to be highly dog reactive and would not be able to focus when another dog was in his vicinity. He has become much more calm and listens so much better when we see dogs on our walks. The price for the program was very reasonable considering he stayed there for 3 weeks and it includes 2 free follow-up lessons, as well as refreshers every time he boards there overnight. We plan on bringing him for doggie daycare on the regular in the near future. The staff truly love the dogs they work with. They have always been very professional, caring, and genuinely pleased when dogs make progress under their care. I am a worry wort momma and regularly check in while our baby is away from us. It rarely takes more than an hour to hear back from office manager Becky. Their responsiveness is great. Premier Dog Training has been a lifesaver for my family and our pups! I am VERY particular about how my dogs are cared for and upon seeing the facilities at Premier and meeting the staff that would be caring for them, I could see the genuine love that they all have for any breed, including my two very spoiled little guys. Going to daycare has done wonders for their socialization as one would hide behind me when around other dogs and the other was just a grumpy guy, unsure of anything else with four legs! We scheduled training for our puppy, booked it with a $200.00 deposit. We didn't sign a contract and we were not told of any cancellation charges. Three days before we were to take him to be trained my wife had a change of mind. She didn't want to be without the puppy for three weeks. So I called Premiere and cancelled our training. I've called them three times over the last month and a half to get a refund. Each time I was told the owner will call me back. That hasn't happened. Neither have I received a refund. My next step is the BBB to file a complaint. I will also post on facebook and twitter warning people about the way Premiere does business. If they are this way in the beginning not caring for their business practice and customer relations, then how do they treat the dogs? My recommendation is, unfortunately, find another company/trainer for your dog. read more

I truly cannot say enough good things about this training camp. It was evident from the moment I walked into the establishment just how much they love and care about the dogs. I adopted my beagle when he was two years old, and he had been homeless before. He really struggled with eating almost everything in sight, demand barking, and jumping up on the counter. My family and I are now calling him "Tyler 2.0" because they change has been so significant. He responds so well to his commands, and the bond between us has grown so much since it is not stressful with him. His trainer, Connor, did an amazing job at learning how to work with Tyler. He, as well as the rest of Premier Dog, understand that every dog is different, so each need unique training techniques. I have tried other training places before, and nothing compares to the progress I have seen in Tyler from Premier Dog Training. What sold me on this place is that they care about the dog and helping the families. The follow up sessions, training tools and homework show that they are not just in it for the money, and they truly care about helping your dog be they best he/she can be. These people are amazing and have exceeded what we could have hoped for. My wife and I have two rescue dogs: a Carolina Dog and a Bull Terrier mix. A year after adopting the Bull Terrier, she started getting aggressive and showing anti-social behavior, which the other dog was feeding and feeding off of. We were very concerned and not sure where to turn. Upon hearing about Premiere from a friend who sent her dogs to them, we enrolled both of our dogs up for the two week boot camp. This was money well spent. In addition to correcting the problems, Premiere does an excellent job of creating a framework to reinforce these corrections once the dogs return home. Each dog received individual attention to address what they needed in addition to having Premiere work on the social dynamics between the two dogs. With their lifetime guarantee, I know that we can contact them at any time to address anything that comes up, and when we have contacted them, they have been very responsive. The bottom line is that Rick, Jess, Kevin and their entire staff are knowledgeable, experienced and obviously love working with dogs. The entire staff is incredibly professional and talented, and our primary trainer, Amanda, is nothing short of amazing!!! She is truly a dog whisperer. A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! BEST TEAM EVER! After a frustrating month with our SPCA dog, we were near to returning him to the shelter. Our one-year-old rescue had not been socialized in his previous home. He mouthed and nipped and barked at everything. He lunged on his leash so much that we had trouble walking him. We had to keep him separated from our kids because he'd knock them over with his "play". As a last effort, we enrolled him in Premier Dog Training's boot camp. We all knew he'd be challenging, but the team at Premier was confident that his behaviors were due to anxiety and fear. With training, they encouraged us, he'd be a great family dog. AN AMAZING CHANGE! We saw massive progress after his two weeks at boot camp. The Premier team, Walker was our lead trainer, taught our dog (and us) to communicate so the dog understood what he was doing wrong and right. Their approach is positive and fun - using a variety of training tools. (Our #1 training tool is an old tennis ball with a string through it. The team gave this to us at boot camp pick up to continue to use in during our homework.) The team also moved our dog from the metal prong collar that we'd been (incorrectly) using to a low-profile, modified plastic prong collar. They also taught us how to use this as an effective training devise. After boot camp, we immediately were able to walk him on a leash and he had stopped barking at passing cars. He also would listen to "wait" - so no more springing out the door or gate. He waits for us to okay him to leave and enter the house and yard. However, the dog was still trying to play rough with our kids. A few days after boot camp, I emailed the Premier team. Walker came to our home the next day (no additional cost) and worked with the dog and our kids for an hour. We haven't had any issues with rough play after the visit. The pup still had mouthing and nipping issues to work through. Jes from Premier worked with us over email with suggestions and advice - and a lot of encouragement. We're happy to report that the dog is now well integrated into our family. He loves riding with the kids to camp and school, going to soccer games, and playing then relaxing in the yard. This could not have happened without the Primer team. We're looking forward to a continued relationship with Premier. They very much care about their work. My wife and I took our then one and a half year old hound mutt to premier over a year ago, thinking we would put him through the doggie boot camp while we were on our honeymoon. He was a sweet puppy, loved every person and dog he met, but was having trouble pulling on the leash and coming when called. Premier sounded like it would be a good fit. We went over their training methods, and I was assured that they used almost completely positive reinforcement - our dog is pretty submissive, so i was explicitly clear about this over the phone. When I dropped Harry (the mutt) off, i once again confirmed this with the staff at Premier. I was told they would occasionally do a leash correction, but that seemed fine to me. They pointed to a metal collar across the room, which looked like his normal martingale collar. We left him for 12 days, and went on our honeymoon. the price was steep - $1300, but we felt it would be worth it for the training. When my wife picked Harry up, we received a shock. Premier had been using a prong collar, which is not recommended by the Humane Society, as it is designed to inflict physical pain on a misbehaving dog. (http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/dogs/tips/collars.html) I was flabbergasted, and very angry. I felt lied to. The problem with negative reinforcement collars - besides that they inflict pain on the dog - is that in many cases, you must continue to utilize the collar to achieve the desired result. The second you stop using the collar, and there is no negative reinforcement, the adverse behavior returns. To this day, Harry is a changed dog around other dogs. He used to greet every dog he met with a play bow and submissive behavior. Since Premier training, he is hit or miss, and will frequently bark and lunge at strange dogs. He still pulls while walking to boot. The only action Premier ever took to rectify the situation was to "apologize for the confusion," tell me that I had seen the collar clearly when I dropped him off, and to offer to go over prong collar training with me. No thanks. Oh, and to top it all off, they had the nerve to send me a GOFUND me request a year later. http://www.gofundme.com/k9now Apparently, they are seeking charity now to expand their training programs to help veterans. Sounds like a scam to me. To be fair, they seem like nice people, and it appears they have had lots of happy costumers. Caveat Emptor though: their training is completely based on negative reinforcement. If that's the type of training you are seeking for your dog, you may be satisfied with their service. I am honestly really upset that I even have to write this review. When we first came across Premier, we thought they were the solution to our dog problems. We have a chocolate lab with more energy than either my fiancé and I could handle. We bought lots of books, did training sessions, you name it we tried it. Our lab is very smart. He catches onto things extremely well. After months, he was able to sit, lay down, roll over, come, stay, and wait. We were thrilled about his progress but he still wasn't doing things we needed, such as not jumping when we came in the door, greeting other dogs nicely, and interacting with children appropriately, among other things. Mostly our issue was that he was essentially a gigantic puppy. We brought our lab to Premier for their boot camp while we went away on vacation. They asked us to bring a list of behaviors we wanted corrected and ours filled up about 3/4 of a page. We wanted a well behaved dog all in all. They looked at our list and assured us he was the perfect candidate for boot camp. Then off we went. When we returned, I should have known things weren't right. When I went to pick up Riley, we had a "training session" in which they were supposed to go over what he had learned. They went over things in about 30 minutes but didn't cover everything that he had learned so I had to ask, "did you teach him 'wait'?" And they would say "oh yeah". My main issue with Premier is that they spent most of the time with our dog retraining him to do things their way. As I already stated, our lab knew certain things, but when we picked him up he knew the same things but with different commands. We used "lay" for lay down. They changed it to "down" and changed the hand signal. They did this with nearly ever command. This is a huge problem for me since almost everything they taught him was these basic signals that HE ALREADY KNEW! What a waste of time. The issues we needed/asked to be corrected weren't. We went back to have them go through everything with us again to make sure we were doing things right. They helped us with how to correct, various commands, etc. and I appreciated their willingness to walk us through things. Then our dog started to be destructive in the house. We came home to torn up pillows, papers, whatever he could find. Let me be clear, we could leave our lab free in the house around 8 months old and never had any problems. As I said, we did a lot of training ourselves and he was great when left out. However, three days after we brought him home he started chewing everything in sight. I called premier, frantic with worry. Over the course of a few phone calls, they said his behavior had absolutely nothing to do with the training and it must be something that I was doing. Really?! The only thing that had changed was that we sent him to Premier and you're saying that had nothing to do with it?! Ridiculous. I called many times asking for help with my dog and each time was met with resistance and frankly rudeness. I was under the impression we were "customers for life" (which they said multiple times) but I was not treated as such. After my dog destroyed airline tickets, I flipped out. I called premier, which was probably my 5th call by then. I spoke to the owner who assured me that someone would come to our house in the morning and asked me to call when they opened. Well, guess what? I called and no one was available. They told me no one could come. This was after my many disappointments with them, so I just said screw it and have never called them again. I will say that my dog now takes treats nicely from my hand and walks nicer on a leash. He used to pull like crazy. They had a plastic pincher collar on him but it wasn't really doing anything so they switched it out for a metal one. I do not like those collars but they assured me they don't hurt and even put it around my arm to demonstrate what the dog felt and it wasn't that bad. We used it for a little while until my dog woke up one morning with one pupil larger than the other! We brought him to our vet who explained those collars should never be used because they can compress their optic nerve, which runs through their neck, and can cause PERMANENT DAMAGE. Premier basically lays the groundwork for you. They teach your dog the basics and you fill in the gaps and keep training on your own. When we spoke to them, my fiancé and I were both under the impression that we would get our lab back trained, not that we would essentially be training from scratch since he now knew all the same stuff just with different commands. We were both very disappointed with how everything was handled through Premier and how our dog came back to us. I read a couple of negative reviews for this place but assumed our dog would be different, that this place was the answer. It wasn't. read more

Five stars just isn't enough. I cannot say enough about how amazing these people are. We adopted a German Shepherd mix from animal services in El Paso mainly because it was her expiration date, and I couldn't stand to think they were going to put this poor pup to sleep only because her people ditched her. I soon learned just how terrible she could be. It was a nightmare. She would drag you everywhere when she wasn't eating the leash, she charged at every other thing out there that moved, she ate so much furniture, she ate our engagement pictures, she chewed up army issued equipment, she peed on us in the middle of the night, she ate my laptop life line, stole the Thanksgiving turkey, made a favorite past time out of chewing up the Christmas tree, ate a hotel door, tackled a kid on Halloween and stole his candy bag then ran home...I could go on for days about how awful she was. When we moved to DC it became apparent we had to do something quick. My dog was the absolute worst, and my husband's condition was quickly deteriorating. Through dedication, hard work, and determination Premier has turned that awful beast into a service dog. It doesn't stop there...she's not just a service dog now, she's a life saver. See, our rescue pup, once known by the neighborhood as "perro de inferno", is now a service dog that has been trained to identify a specific life threatening episode that unfortunately we are plagued with. Premier has put so much effort into training our fur kid, and it shows tremendously. Their dedication to training her has changed our life. They had to start from the very beginning with her, and I can only image how hard of a task that was. Now when we take our Charley into public with us people comment on how well behaved she is. This is the same dog that we took to an event a year ago and was asked to leave because, yes, she was THAT bad. She is now extremely well behaved, and I cannot express how proud I am of her. By training Charley they've not only made life more enjoyable with a well behaved pup, but they've also helped to save the life of someone very dear to me. They use tools to help train your dog. Many people are not properly educated when it comes to these tools, so naturally they frown upon them. Keep an open mind, and don't be afraid to ask questions. I work in animal medicine and have for a very long time...I can assure you, when used correctly, these tools can be your best friends. One thing I loved was that they sit down and teach the owners how to use the tools they send home. Their clients do not go home uneducated. This is a HUGE deal in my line of work. I've never met a trainer that does this. They will go out of their way for you, and they are ALWAYS available. It amazes me that they are as patient as they are. God knows they needed all the patience in the world with my pup. With bootcamp and other training adventures that require you to leave your dog with them they've come up with this awesome idea to post pictures on social media sites of the dogs they're working with so you can follow along. This doesn't seem like much, but believe me, it is. It makes a world of difference to see your pup with this huge smile on their face and the videos of all they've learned. I recommend Premier Dog Training to people several times a week, and I will continue to do so. They did the impossible. How many trainers out there can take a dog rescued from death row and turn her into a service dog? In my years of working with animal medicine, Premier is the first group I've found with that power. I honestly can't say enough about my experience with Premier. I have a 7 month old blue pit bull, and I brought him for training with with Rick, Jess and the rest of the incredible trainers in May 2016 while I was traveling for work. We had a lot of issues with him pulling his leash, didn't really listen well, lovingly jumps on new people when he's excited, etc. From the very first conversation, Jess went through ALL of the details I needed to know up front. I never felt that they were after my money, or that they were trying to pressure me into a sale. They genuinely care about the dogs they train and love what they do. The price tag was totally worth it for me and the outcomes have been great. Ever since we picked him up, any time we have an issue or concern, Rick has taken the time to respond to my calls and emails to assist. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Premier has been boarding and training our 2 dogs for 4 years. The pups love going to Premier! When we tell them it's time to go to "camp" they go nuts, get in the car with no problems, and burst into the reception when we arrive because they cannot wait to see the staff. We selected Premier Dog Training for our 1 year old doberman. She went in as a wild, unmannered puppy and came out from the 3 week boot camp a transformed dog. She is calmer, obedient and we have the tools to be good dog owners. I can't say enough good things about the crew of trainers at PDT. They are thorough, care about the dogs, excellent response and feedback and did a phenomenal job training our dobie and us. The facility is clean, our dog was well taken care of while she was there. Since we have been home, the daily training and practice is manageable and she has become such a good listener. Our dobie would also nip men and that behavior has stopped as well. This review is for the boarding facility. Our foster dog was taken to Premier while we went away for a long weekend. He has been in our care for a long time and we love him very much. I wrote them multiple emails describing his current schedule, what he eats, how he plays with dogs, and his antibiotic regimen. We were told to follow them on social media so we could see pictures of him while we were away. I promptly received an email thanking me for providing detailed instructions on his care, as well as questioning why he was on antibiotics. I responded with vet records and they said he was all set to be boarded. A day or so later, I received another email asking for vet records, so I feel like their documentation/organization system isn't great. I forwarded on the last email and asked for the schedule of the dogs. No response came. Fast forward to his time there. He was dropped off by the rescue, so I never got to see the inside of the facility. I checked social media, but they never put him up there, so I emailed asking how he was. They responded in a reasonable amount of time to say that he hadn't made it into a play group and was being assessed. The next day, I replied to ask if he had made it into a group and how he was doing. No response. So I emailed the next day, forwarding on the old email, and inquiring further about our dog. They responded that they had sent a response and didn't know what went wrong blah blah blah. She said he was fine, but still didn't provide pictures or even the schedule that I had asked for in the previous email. I had to email another time to get that information. I had called before the day he was supposed to be picked up to say that they shouldn't feed him because he was going straight to his neuter appointment. Apparently no one got the message, no one returned my call (though I asked them to), and he was fed. Finally, when we got our dog back and unpacked his stuff, we found all of the doxycycline pills unopened. I think the communication at this facility is terrible. They communicated very poorly with their customers and they seem to not even communicate/document with each other. They need to be more transparent about the care of the dogs. I shouldn't have to ask 3 times to get his schedule, which when provided was very sparsely detailed. I would not recommend this place if your dog is on any specific schedule/medication regimen. EDIT: In response to the comment below, (1) no one explained that social media is reserved for dogs in training. When I asked, "Is it possible to get updates on him throughout the weekend," you responded with, "You are more than welcome to email us while he is here for updates and we post on Instagram so be sure to follow us!"via email on 4/19/2018, 1:39 pm. (2) If you read my review carefully, I didn't comment about how you don't "just throw dogs into [your] play groups." I want my dog to be assessed for his compatibility with other dogs just as much as the next guy. My issue was that you twice ignored my request for the general day-to-day schedule of the dogs in boarding, e.g. when do they eat, how many times are they walked, when do they play - to me, this is something that anyone who cares about the animal would ask (on 4/20/2018 you didn't respond to my email at all and on 4/30/18 you replied but didn't address that question)]. I understand that depending on the number and type of dogs being boarded, the schedules will be somewhat flexible, but I wasn't aware of that at the time and would have liked the response that you gave in your comment below (3) I don't have a problem with a 24 hr response time - I have a problem with the fact that I asked questions that were consistently not answered. One time is a mistake, after 2 times, you start to get worried about how the lack of response might indicate poor care of the dog. (4) And lastly, I gave instructions on his medication because I knew someone else would be dropping him off. If you're not aware, this is typical of rescues - I, as the foster, take care of him, but oftentimes there are other people who volunteer to transport, advertise, etc. Knowing that, I explicitly said that he was on doxycycline and gave other details about his behavior and feeding. I put it in his instructions that I sent to you both digitally, and labelled on a bag of pills with his stuff. He still came back with all of his pills. We just had our doberman puppies trained at premier. Rick and Jess were great and will even be coming to our house next door week for a follow up. The trainers, stayed with us for an hour when we picked them up and explained everything so we knew exactly what to do when we went home. It was really hard leaving them for 2 weeks but was so worth it. Our babies learned so much! They know all of their commands now and look up constantly to check with us while we are on a walk. They have grown up so much! We will definitely be bringing out little pittie there when she is old enough. read more

PREMIER DOG TRAINING IS THE BEST DOG SCHOOL! I did a lot of research before sending my dog there because I don't trust my dog to anyone. They treated her just like I would. You can tell that they really care about each and every dog (check out their Instagram), and really doing what they love to do. They are all so nice and sweet, and made me feel comfortable. They chatted with me every time I called, and emailed me back whenever I wanted updates. I never felt like I was bothering them. It was just amazing to see the change in my dog's behavior. I Thought better about this place. I called in about four times in the past few months trying to find a quality trainer for my dog who is dealing with major difficulties meeting new people. I called the first time and was told by the front desk lady that would be getting a call back. Waited 4 days and nothing. Called them back again and it was the same lady! i asked her name after she put me on hold for 15 minutes! she refused to give it to me, when i asked for a manager she then hung up on me! These trainers are by far the absolute BEST!! They trained my doberman in such a way that he obeys all of his commands and walks at my side on a leash without any pulling. The staff is wonderful and even months after his training, I wrote to them about an issue I was having. The response was prompt and very helpful. I board my dog there occasionally and they continue to train him during his stay at NO cost!!! If you want your dog trained professionally by trainers who really care, I highly recommend Premier. I just picked up my 7 month old puppy and I couldn't be happier! Rick and Jessi were great. The communicated with me constantly while I was away and posted frequently on Instagram so I could keep in touch. She is still a puppy so she's full of puppy energy but she is better behaved in every area we asked them to address. And she seems calmer overall. I just took her for a mile walk and she did great. She didn't pull me once and I didn't have to drag her at all. The foundation is clearly there. Now it's up to us to continue fostering the behaviors. I love that we can bring her back for continued training whenever we board her there for no additional cost. That is really amazing. After the 2 week boot camp, our scared, rescued dog has been reincarnated. He used to be scared of strangers and other dogs. He would lash out at them because he was afraid and didn't know how to react. Now, he is accepting towards people he doesn't know. They spent a lot of time socializing our dog, which he didn't have before he was rescued. He is now able to share his big, Pit Bull heart. We sent our one year old Boykin Spaniel to Premier Dog Training for the two week Boot Camp. He wasn't particularly troublesome, just over enthusiastic on leash and quite the excited jumper. The team at Premier did an amazing job understanding our dog's personality and training accordingly. Our dog is finally a joy to walk, he listens when we ask him to come, he knows the command "leave it" among a slew of other impressive obedience tools. To say that we're thrilled with the results would be an understatement. It's like having a different dog (but with his original personality intact!) The program at Premier Dog Training is all about communication and teaching your dog the skills that they can use the rest of their life, but as an owner you have to be willing to put in the work. A life-long of obedience will not develop in two weeks and certainly not without the presence of your dogs "people." The dog's family will have homework and is actually followed up with by the training staff. But, its an amazing foundation and we are already so, so happy with the results. Having been in the kennel industry for ten years and currently working with dog rescue, I was thrilled to find Jess and Rick had finally opened their own kennel. I'd seen their training work previously, and upon a tour of the current facility am relieved to have a safe place to board my rescue and personal dogs! Despite the industrial area the facilities are beautiful and well laid out. The play yards are clean, and what is included in the boarding price is not going to be beat in the area. Actually getting outside to play with other dogs, or just people if needed! They've come home clean and happy. Definitely recommend! read more

Honestly, this is the best dog training facility in the area. They trained my yellow lab, Lucy, to become a service dog to help me with my PTSD. I worked with them for several months and was consistently impressed with all of the staff. Rick and Jes made sure to address all my concerns and took everything I said into account. Our very sweet 2 year old yellow lab named Marlie arrived at Premier Doggie Boot camp with horrible manners. She was sweet and cute but a very naughty girl. Two weeks in the hands of Rick and Jes and Marlie is walking on a leash like a pro! She will sit and stay until told to come. All in all she has good manners and is a calmer dog. I apologize for the long winded review, but I have so many wonderful things to say about Premier Dog training! If you don't feel like reading the whole review, just know I fully recommend them! I am so lucky to have found them! I needed a lot of help with my 9 month old German Shepherd. He jumped, barked, counter surfed, nipped, was still not fully house trained, and had about every bad habit there is. From the first time I contacted Jes, I know this was the perfect place for Sam (full name Samwise Gamgee ). She was very knowledgeable about the breed and explained that Rick was as well, and was full of helpful information. They were able to squeeze him in in the limited amount of time I had before relocating from New York to San Diego. Also, not that this was my biggest concern, but this is the most reasonably priced board and train program I found. 2 weeks before I brought Sam for his scheduled training, I had an incident where my family who was visiting came in late at night. Sam was over excited and accidentally got out of his crate when my niece followed my into his room and he nipped both of my nieces. It was a very scary experience of all of us, and I was devastated. I called Jes the next day, and she was so knowledgeable, kind, and reassuring that they could definitely help Sam with these problems. She accommodating moving up the training and I decided to add another week. While Sam was at training, I loved seeing the picture and videos they posted. Before I brought Sam to training, I told Jes Sam is a tennis ball addict, and asked if I could have an automatic ball launcher sent there for Sam to learn to use. She was excited about the idea and more than welcomed the request! When I went to pick up Sam I was AMAZED at the progress he had made. Sam and his trainer Cam were obviously very attached to each other, and if I had had any doubts (I didn't!) that Sam was well loved and taken care of, they would have instantly faded! The day after I picked up Sam from training, we started our cross county drive! Sam impressed me more and more every day, and continues to do so. We were able to walk through lobby's of hotels, all around the hotel, past food, dogs, and kids with Sam ignoring distractions, appropriately greeting people who wanted to see him, and listening to his commands. At one point someone came over to ask about my dogs (I have a 9 year old Shepherd as well) and commented on how well behaved they are. This NEVER would have happened before! I continue to be amazed with the change in Sam over a week later! He's is still the same old happy goofy puppy, but he is so much more focused! I am able to leave him out of his crate at night (he is in his crate during the workday so I love that he doesn't have to be in there so often!) he stays off the counters and isn't constantly going after things he shouldn't have. Today we reached a HUGE milestone! I was able to walk both of my Shepherds on a leash together by myself for the first time ever. Sam used to bark and pull and constantly try to go after his sister when we walked together. Today I took them both on a long walk through Balboa park (a very busy city park!) without incident. I had full control the whole time, past tons of people, kids, and even dogs! I will definitely continue Sams training and can't wait until he can go back and see everyone at Premier! read more
